Personaly I would love to see more hardcovers from Pazio that covers different aspects of Golarion.
For instance here is some.
- Absalom
- Dragon Empires
- Pretty much all the continents as they are explored.
- One that I saw Dragon78 suggest on a different thread..."big book about several races with stuff like there culture, history, psychology, relationship with other races, favored animals(as pets, mounts, beast of burden, to eat), food, etc." Though I would extend it different cultures as well.
- A hardcover to explore the cosomolgoy of Golarion
Any of these apeal to anybody?
Any other suggests of what you would like to see hardcovers be on?

I'd like all of those (although I'd prefer a boxed set for Absalom, personally). I think the cosmology could use a little more detail than what we have so far - the other continents are no doubt quite a way off.
I'd also like a hardcover treatment of Kaer Maga, expanding on City of Strangers and developing the dungeons beneath a little more extensively.
A bigger, more flavor-heavy book along the lines of the faction guide would be good too. I really liked that book, except for the fact there was too much mechanics in it for my taste.
A hardcover expansion of the planets in Golarion's system would be on my list too - the nicheyness hopefully balanced by the insane demand for Distant Worlds.

I personally would have no problems giving up 2-3 of the campaign setting soft covers for Hardcover setting books like the ISWG. Something like a Dragon Empires World Guide or even a Compilation /Revision book of all of the Deity Articles from the AP.
In my mind it would seem to be equivalent content wise anyway.

My only problem with box sets...is that the box either gets destroyed or lost...but I would not rule it out completely.

Hardcover Books(Golarion specific)
Distant Worlds(planets, moons, asteroid belts, etc.)
Planes Guide(all planes of existence in pathfinder)
Arcadia
Tian Xia
Garund
Casmaran
Sarusan
Atlant
Races of Golarion
Deities of Golarion(It would be nice to have all the heralds in one place)
Hardcover Books(World Neutral)
Book of Deities(book with domains, info, etc. of real world Deities from different cultures.)
Psionics/Psychic Magic book
The only thing I will not give up for any of these is a hardcover Bestiary.

would you give up 2-3 of the softcovers for it?I personaly would gladly give up a Bestiarly every year for these books.
Also they have squeezed these in bofore.
Or as you said 2-3 of the Softcovers would be acceptable to me.
2-3 Years later, they have just now caught up from the mess the ISWG made on their schedule.
Besides, the Pathfinder RPG crew (the rulebooks and Bestiaries) are more rooted in the mechanical parts of the game, and not in cannon, so it wouldn't be a straight switch
Also the hardcovers, at a higher price point, would need to sell more copies than the 2-3 softcovers it is replacing combined (as it would be income coming in months later than usual), which is hard in this economy, its just outside of most people's impulse buy range

You do realize that I am simply make a request and sharing what kind of things I want to see.
If Pazio thinks they will make money from selling Golarion hardcovers...I am pretty sure they would be the best ones to figure out how to do it. In other words your orginal question of 'What would give up'? is much better answeared by them.
Also alot of the 'mechaniocs' people at Pazio can and have written in the past lore for Golarion...if they have less mechanics to write than they can write more lore.

To clarify a point, the bottleneck isn't the writing, since that would all be freelance and off the clock. The main bottleneck is development, since a hardcover campaign setting book would have to be developed by the campaign setting devs, not the rules designers. (That's assuming we swap out products to produce this—otherwise development, layout, AND editing become bottlenecks.)

Ah ok. Though mine main point still stands...I nor anybody else on this board who does not work for Pazio is any position to see what Pazio can...or can not do.
Example if Pazio wanted(meaning they see that it would be profitable) to do Golarion specificx hardcovers I am sure they would be able to see how to accomplish better than I.
Besides how pazio would do this is not the topic of this thread...this thread is more what people would want to see.

If you guys really want to test the waters for future Golarion specific hardcovers then books for Distant Worlds, Garund, Tian Xia, Arcadia, Azlanti, Sarusan, Vudra, or Planes/Demi planes would have made more sense then this one. But I will get this book and I hope enough people will so I can one day see these books as well.

None of those interest me in the slightest for a potential Campaign Setting hardcover, while I can't get enough info on the deities of Golarion, even with Gods & Magic, Faiths of Purity, Faiths of Balance, and various AP articles. For me personally, this is the perfect book to test the waters with!

Erik also stated at the banquet that we have many other campaign setting hardcovers we'd like to do, and the reception that Inner Sea Gods receives will help us determine whether it makes sense to do them.
Ok I'll but thirty copies...would that help?
Kidding of course.
Though I did get 35 copies of the Character Folios...though those are slightly cheaper and I have lots of characters...

I mentioned this in another thread, but it's worth repeating:
Think about it: *most* campaigns have characters that are interested in gods to some degree, but relatively few campaigns have any particular interest in any given location.
This is why Gods & Magic has been one of the best-selling books in the Campaign Setting line (and it's about to go out of print, by the way...). The only regional book in the line that has sold out is Guide to the River Kingdoms, which did especially well because Kingmaker was so well received... but we also printed less of it than Gods & Magic.

Dragon78 wrote:Last I heard I thought Distant Worlds was the best seller in the campaign setting line?Nope; it sold well, but it's not the best seller in that line.
Distant Worlds sold through its first print run so quickly that we knew we could justify reprinting it... but that first print run was not as big as Gods & Magic.
Apart from Guide to the River Kingdoms, Distant Worlds, and (soon) Gods & Magic, the only other CS books that have sold through their entire original print runs are the 3.5 Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting and Seekers of Secrets—A Guide to the Pathfinder Society.

-CRB

Yeah and so did Ultimate Equipment when we get new magic items. heck there was stuff left out when that book came out.
I would like an Ultimate spell book but they need to call it something other then "ultimate" and make multiple volumes every 2-3 years.
In fact stop using "ultimate" in the titles of these books.

Eventually it would be nice to see some capstone hardcover region guides which draw together and expand upon all the widely scattered information.
Varisia would be a good one to start with as there is a mountain of stuff on the region but it is rather awkwardly spread out across a couple dozen volumes.

Varisia is a good candidate for eventual hardcover treatment, should sales of Inner Sea Gods justify it. Absalom is another one we discuss semi-frequently. And there are others too.
I would be more in favor of an Absalom book as I feel it seems to be glossed over a bit and not as revealed as Varisia has been in previous products.

Fact is we're unlikely to do a hardcover book on a region that has not already had softcover books covering it. I agree that a Varisia book might be a bit much at the moment, which is one reason it's not on the schedule. But we do have a lot of cool material about that place, and it is spread out over lots of sources and has some gaps. A hardcover could address that while adding a ton of new stuff.
For this reason places like Absalom and Cheliax are also decent candidates, whereas something like Rahadoum or Hermea probably are not.

From the hints we've been getting over in the Mummy's Mask thread, I'm not sure we'll even have to worry about that. Something tells me we're going to be getting plenty of Numeria love come August 2014.

I'd love to see a hardcover of Ustalav. It fits the criteria of having a softcover already with Rule of Fear, and there's an AP set there, and a module.
I can see it now:
Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Ailson Kindler's Guide to the Immortal Principality of Ustalav
Or maybe:
Pathfinder Campaign Setting: The Immortal Principality
It could be published to coincide with a possible future Player Companion: Vampire Hunter's Handbook
