Silver Crusade

So I was playing around with an idea of a religious enforcer for an Orc Barbarian Tribe and as I was generating him, I got to thinking he might be a fun build to play in PFS as well.

Level 4 is where this build really takes flight.

With Solo Tactics I can use my teamwork feats without anyone else having them.

Now if I'm not missing anything I can basically enter a Sympathetic Rage anytime for free and get +6/+6 to my STR and CON Scores with Amplified for a total of 24/21 respectively.

And when I use my rage rounds go +8/+8

However, in my excitement I fear I might be reading the Solo Tactics power incorrectly, and I'll highlight the part that gives me pause.

Solo Tactics:
At 3rd level, all of the inquisitor’s allies are treated as if they possessed the same teamwork feats as the inquisitor for the purpose of determining whether the inquisitor receives a bonus from her teamwork feats. Her allies do not receive any bonuses from these feats unless they actually possess the feats themselves. The allies’ positioning and actions must still meet the prerequisites listed in the teamwork feat for the inquisitor to receive the listed bonus.

Sympathetic Rage Feat:
Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who is raging, you may choose to enter a similar but less powerful rage as a free action on your turn. This weaker rage gives you all the benefits and penalties of a rage, except your morale bonus to Strength and Constitution is only +2. There is no limit to how long you can rage, as long as you remain adjacent to a raging ally (for example, you could take a 5-foot step away from one raging ally toward another raging ally and maintain your rage). As with a barbarian’s rage, when this weaker rage ends, you are fatigued.

Amplified Rage Feat
Whenever you are raging and adjacent to a raging ally who also has this feat or flanking the same opponent as a raging ally with this feat, your morale bonuses to Strength and Constitution increase by +4. This feat does not stack with itself (you only gain this bonus from one qualifying ally, regardless of how many are adjacent to you).

Now from reading this, I have an inkling that I may need to always be in a party with another Barbarian who is raging to get my access to my Solo Tactic teamwork feats.

This shouldn't be a huge problem as there are several barbarians who play in my local PFS game, but it does make my build somewhat dependent on my party makeup.

You not only need to be in a party with another Barb who is raging, but you'll always have to stay within 5 feet of each other. If that breaks for even a round, you're going to be fatigued and then won't be able to use SR again until the fatigue wears off.

Yep, Brotato is correct.

While solo tactics lets you disregard that your allies don't have the feat, they still need to be raging and correctly positioned as required for those specific teamwork feats.

So with another barb in your party, I could be great. But in that case, it might be worth it for him/her to take the feats as well.

Silver Crusade

Thanks Brotato, I hadn't even thought of the implications of sympathetic ins terms of making two barbarians essentially stationary.

Is there a way to overcome that?

You could go with a mad dog barbarian and get a wolverine animal companion... then they can take the rage feats, and you can roll up on things. It's kinda... borked.

That's awesome. I may have to try that on my next build. I like the barb as a concept, but I never actually built one because they're so depended on just what seems like a small amount of rage rounds.

Just to note, the morale bonus you receive from the barbarian's rage class feature will NOT stack with the teamwork feats rage.

Don't think he's trying to do that... but the sympathetic and amplified rage will stack together. For the +6 Str/Con he mentioned above.
