Ok. I like what i see so far. But i have a few questions. Why would Thor be a Titan Mauler? I can understand the barbarian, but why a titan mauler? While it is tru that only thor can wield Mjolnir the hammer itself is normal sized.
Secondly, What book is the Legalistic mystery in for the oracles?
Titan Mauler provided a game mechanic to make Mjolnir something other than a regular warhammer. Nothing more complicated than that. Plus the Hammer of Thunderbolts is Large. A Titan Mauler can wield it in one hand.
Legalistic is in "Pathfinder Player Companion: Blood of Fiends"
cheers

Ok...
Rage + mutagen + enlarge person = Hulk
Ninja = black widow
Hawkeye= freebooter ranger + empyreal sorc + arcane archer
Cap = lore warden + MoMS (crane and snake style) with weapon training close weapons and brawling armor
Ironman= wizard + golem
Black Panther = rogue/ monk/ shadow dancer
Thor= barbarian/ thunder caller bard
Spider-Man = vivisectionist alchemist (spider climb) + monk (or rogue)
Wolverine= Dwarven barbarian/ natural weapon ranger (or wild stalker ranger)
Wasp = Druid (?)
Did I miss anyone?

I think the big question is who should be considered an Avenger? I would stick the originals like Thor, Ironman, Hulk, Antman, The Wasp, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther and Black Widow... But adding Spider-man or Wolverine before any of these characters is not giving them their due.
Of course what about Ms. Marvel... always loved her...

So i was thinking (smell bacon anyone?) and i thought it would be neat if one could build the Avengers in pathfinder.
Rules
1.The books that you are allowed to reference are the Core Rulebook, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Combat, Advanced Playes guide, Ultimate Equipment, and The Inner Sea Guide.Reason being is i may use some of these builds and my rule for my home games is that if i dont own the book you cant use it. and those are the ones i own.
2. The stats that are to be used are 18, 16, 14, 12, 12 ,10
That should give a pretty good character.3.Be creative. Choose a build and state why you think it would work.
I'll Start.
I would Build Captain America as a straight ranger who uses the shield and weapon combat style. Instead of a weapon he uses a Cestus.
Hum
Str-18
Dex-18(+2)
Con-14
Int-10
Wis-12
Cha-12Give him all the shield bashing feats available and make sure he is proficient with throwing shields. Give the shield the return ability and the bashing ability. Shield spikes and the clangorus abilities as well. The ranger spells that i would keep on speed dial would be Lead blades and ricochet shot(as that spell would allow the shield to bounce from foe to foe as it did in the comics).
How would you build the rest?
Doting for extreme interest.

Dwarfakin wrote:Spider Woman is psionic in the comics. Why not just use psionics for her?i think spider woman would be a monk of some sort with some other abilities like blindsense and the ability to cast poison. as for her abilities of flight it depends on which comic you refer to. In the original she couldn't fly but she glided using the web extentions on her suit. But since she lost her powers and regaind them again and again in the later comics she has the ability to fly.
oh and slippers of spider climb of course would be mandatory.
Bruunwald, not the Julia Carpenter Spiderwoman ... the original Spiderwoman - Jessica Drew. (She wasn't psionic, she was a HYDRA lab-rat IIRC).
And, by the way, Julia became the "new" Madame Web ... at least as of "Spider-Island" storyline ... so that's a couple years ago. ;)

Is this the movie Avengers, or the comic-book Avengers?
What would be the difference in your mind?
And for Thor possibilites, let's not forget the Foehammer.

So how is this viable to be legal? You have a 36 point buy.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
John Steed: Obviously a human rogue, no archetype. Perhaps with a level of fighter.
Cathy Gale: expert/rogue, given her Ph.D. in anthropology.
Emma Peel: Swashbuckler, given her fighting style and luck in hand-to-hand combat. Probably with a couple of levels of Investigator given her expertise in chemistry.
Tara King: Fighter/rogue, with the feat "Catch Off-Guard"
Hard to say about the leader of...
Wait, we're talking about The Avengers, right?
Oh...
Never mind.
