Hopefully this will help me sleep better. I only slept like 5 1/2 hours last night because of how anxious I was. I'm hoping I'll wear myself out tonight and be able to pass out when I get home in the morning. It'll take a little time, but I'm sure I'll get right back into my old patterns in no time.

Thanks. Everyone is super nice. It's a lot of busy work and little things to remember, but I'll get a routine down after a while.

Busy. My feet and ankle hurt the most....but getting some better shoes will help with that. My muscles just need time to get used to this kind of work again, but I'll deal with just about anything for 13.50 an hour.

Hehe. I'm sure that helps keep you motivated.

Better shoes are definietely a necessity. Give it a couple weeks and your body'll get back in the groove.

Yeah, I really like my residents though. One guy is 105 and still really with it. When I assisted him to his wheelchair I kinda had to wrap my arms around him and after I sat him down he was smiling. I asked him why he was smiling and he said, "I liked that." And then we laughed. They're all just so cute. I have to be really quiet going down one hall during rounds, cuz if this one little lady hears me she starts calling myh name and won't stop till I go see her.

I know I'm where I'm supposed to be, it's just another adjustment like everything else. It'll be okay.

On the other hand, I hate where I am.

Henry went night night and I wanna lay down with him for just a few minutes before I have to start getting ready for work. He has to work Saturday too...but that's not so bad since I'll be sleeping for the first part of the day. We'll have Sunday together and then he's off on Monday, so we can spend some time together during the day since I don't have to be at work till that night.

I had this black eyed pea soup stuff that Henry's mom made with rice and added hot sauce and cheese to it. Very yummy.

It was pretty good. I just love my little 105 year old man to death. He is the sweetest little thing. He told me earlier that he really liked my voice. Then later this morning a different resident was real ugly to me because I wasn't doing something the way she wanted me to do it. Ashley told her to stop giving me a hard time and that I was brand new to that facility and just getting used to people. Then she told me not to worry about it and move on, so I did. Right to my sweet little man who was telling me the whole time I was in there getting him ready how sweet I was and that he didn't think they made them like me anymore and how much hef appreciated everything I did for him. I just hugged him and told him I thought he was a very nice gentleman.

I made chili tonight with some ground deer meat that Cindy gave to me and added it to some ground beef so that the chili would be nice and meaty. I added a good amount of minced garlic, some onion, diced tomatoes and tomato sauce and then three different kinds of beans. Pinto, dark red kidney beans, and black beans. I like a lot of beans in my chili, and of course I made corn bread muffins to go with it. It was yummy and I'm taking some with me to work tonight for lunch, with cheese on top too of course. I can't have chili without cheese.

Henry has to work tomorrow too, but I'll be sleeping in the morning so it's not horrible. It just means he's working six days in a row and he's really really tired. He's probably gonna be going to bed soon, but after he got home this afternoon he laid down with me and took a nap.

This is my last night of orientation, so I hope I can remember everything I need to do next week when I start on my own run. Ashley told me not to worry too much about it though because she and Cookie would be there to help me with whatever I needed and not to be afraid to ask for help.

Had a hell of a day yesterday. Vicious Noreaster trashed the area, trains cancelled due to powerline on tracks, roads closed, and on top of it the weather wiped Sivan out so I ended up calling out and taking care of everyone.
