Short dark raggamuffin seeks other players interested in forming a roleplaying group to meet once or twice a week for high adventure and hijinks.
I used to play Pathfinder with friends, until it became too hard to meet up. I'm really interested in either Skype roleplaying or Roll20 campaigns, so if anyone has one going already that they wouldn't mind me joining in with, or are interested in forming a new group, please let me know!

I'm sort of in the same boat. Friends and I used to play over Skype, and our GM had a huge homebrew world set up. It was fun while it lasted, but now everyone's a few years into college, and/or studying overseas, so between being busy and having goofy time zone issues, the games have sorta faded away.
For me, I have too much free time. I take boredom naps quite frequently. The only things I do are on Monday and Wednesday nights, and I'm just twiddling my thumbs otherwise. I'd really prefer not GMing, but I do have a massive amount of typically-eccentric PCs lying around.

Coolio!
If you (Axolmotl) can grab your friend when he returns, and we have TV Party on our team too, then we already have a party of four!
I'm currently trying to get my head around playing a magic user for the first time, weighing up what is best for a non-combat Gnome - should be fun, as my last character was a Rogue. Very different!
Are you guys all okay for me to start with a lvl 1? I don't mind if others want to start at varying levels, it might make it more interesting.:)

Axolmotl |

Obviously, I have to start at level 20.
But in all seriousness, for balancing issues, it's good to have an even-footed party. Perhaps a character could be role-played as less experienced or confident, though. In any case, I've already got my Skype name in here, and I'd enjoy knowing about the campaign that'll be run, if possible. :)

Chatting in Skype while playing in Roll 20 sounds good to me!
Also.... I have no clue about the campaign - I'm not a DM myself, just a player, so I guess we could make it whatever we want. We could create our own awesome fantasy setting, or we could work through some of the modules. I don't mind myself, I'm just excited about getting back into it!

I would be interested in playing something on Saturdays. Don't know what timezones you're in, I'm in England so can't go too late but anything up to about 1am GMT (Eastern +5) is okay with me.
That sounds good to me, and since it appears that we now have GM, what are we waiting for?
My timezone is GMT -4:30, so it won't be a problem, unless you want me to play while I'm taking lunch :P

Oldswifty - happy to DM, but haven't ever played over the net before, so bear with me. I have explored Roll 20, and that seems to work okay.
Shamlyn - what days are good for you? I play tabletop on Tuesdays but Thursdays/Fridays/Sundays are all possibles. If Saturday goes well, I could run a second (virtual) table.
Okay, so we've got a group, but what do we want to play? Anyone got anything they really do want to have a go at? I've got all the adventure paths but can do something sandboxy too.

About APs, I would like Rise of the Runelords, Legacy of Fire or Jade Regent (the last I've played... sort of). Anyway, since you are the GM, I'll let you to choose...

I haven't turned my hand to the anniversary edition of RotR yet, so that sounds good to me. I do have the habit of starting an AP before the normal start of the AP so I'll get to writing something that can get you together as a team and deliver you to Sandpoint for the official start.
So how about setting a time, 8pm GMT this Saturday, I'll put on contact details on here before then, but I have to get to a tabletop game now.
Anyone want to call dibs on a type of character they want to play?

I'm fine with it (8 pm GMT will be like 3:30 pm in my country) but I would prefer 15 or 30 mins later. In any case, count me in!
Since english is not my native language, I would prefer going with a less-RP type of character: may it be the iconical big, simple and friendly killing machine (a.k.a. Fighter) or a grumpy wizard (perhaps a necromancer)...

Axolmotl |

I uhm, I'm in a Rise of the Runelords game currently... I suppose I can use my fantastic acting skills and not meta-game, and I also missed the entirety of the first book anyways (joined late after someone dropped).
I'd like to play a thrown-weapon character, and I'm still working out how I want to class/race it, but I'll be throwing daggers, swords, all sorts of things.
I'm also pretty RP-heavy. I love writing and interacting with NPCs and other PCs. I won't go into novel territory, though, so hopefully that'll work.

oldswifty |
That time is good for me, too.
I think I'm going to try a gnomish sorcerer. I haven't played a sorcerer before, so it might take a bit of getting used to, but so long as people don't mind that I'm no veteran, we should be ok.
I also enjoy the rp side, so my character probably won't be terribly combat heavy, though I'll try and learn some useful spells!
It seems like we have a good mix, though - some combat characters, some magic casters :)

That is actually perfect for me.
I would, personally, rather not start at lvl 1 though.
I would be happy if we could possibly start at level 5 or 3 (a midlevel campaign).
Keep in mind I am still game for almost anything.
I am at GMT -5.
For Thursdays I am game anytime after 3:10 (8pm gmt).
It looks like I will end up being the resident healer, but if I anyone else can take that burden I would prefer to play an Alchemist (I always wanted to play one).

Axolmotl |

I would much rather type out everything. As much as I enjoy acting, my voice is... Not really suitable to the characters I usually want to play. Something about immersion breaking. Plus, it'd make a nice log of everything that happens, and would be useful if someone missed a group or had to run afk for whatever reason.
Typically, Skype for shenanigans, text for everything else.

Okay, lots of stuff on the thread since I last read it:
@Reshar - I'd prefer not to run too late, but if you can only get on a bit late that's no problem. I'd assume that we wouldn't start right on time anyway.
@Shamlyn/Theron Smith 265 - There's no reason why I can't run a second table, but I would prefer to get the first one up and running first.
@Axolmotl - If you're in a RotR Adventure Path already, I think it would be confusing to be in another, I'm currently leaning towards a sandbox game, happening in Varisia (because I love that setting) while the events of Rise of the Runelords, Second Darkness, Curse of the Crimson Throne and (if it lasts that long) Shattered Star happen. Mild spoilers of the public events though I'll try and keep it to what's on the back cover blurbs of the APs.
@Oldswifty - Though I can do Thursdays, I can't do tomorrow as I already have plans
Type or voice? I was thinking that we were going to do video/audio with Roll20 as it should bring the speed of the game up closer to if we were sat around my dining room table. in that way typing can be a nice way to "pass a note to the GM" but it's up to the group how they want to engage with that.

Sandbox is fine with me.
As far as Roll20's A/V, I'm not entirely trusting of it, as it doesn't like to work for several people I play with. Earlier in the thread, we'd thought about using Skype for chat, and Roll20 for everything in-game. It may go a small bit slower, but then again, it also means people can be typing actions and dialogue in Roll20 while everyone else is making dumb jokes and talking about random things, or actually discussing things ooc.

+1 to this.

It seems to work for me, but I like your idea, Skype for chatting and Roll 20 for game stuff.

oldswifty |
I'm used to just talking as though around a table, but I can roll with typing too if that's preferable to everyone! Pun intended :D We can always ammend the way we play as we go along to better suit our style of play.
It seems people can't do Thursdays anyway. I'm free pretty much any night. I only work during the day.
How about tuesdays? :D
Also, sandbox sounds cool!

oldswifty |
Maybe we should just stick to saturday, then guys. That seems to be the time that the most of us can make it.
If it's possible to organise an alternate group for a different day, I'm sure we can work something out, but for now it may be best if we just gather who we can for a saturday sesh.
So I guess that would be DM Andy, Lowroller, Axolmotl, Reshar, TV Party, and me.
If the others have a time that they are all free, we could organise a secondary group around that.

Oh, hey guys. I'm eurotime too (GMT+1), available all day every day except for Sundays. Can I join too? Or would it be too many players? Who should I send my skype and email address to? What are the character creation rules? Are there too many questions?
Anyway, I'm stoked to see an all-European online game, I only found American games so far.

oldswifty |
You would make our party up to six, which I think would be ok - It's up to the DM though, how large a party he can manage.
Hopefully, he'll be able to send us some campaign notes and character creation rules early tomorrow!
My skype is Oldswifty -- everyone on this thread! I guess we should all add eachother.
