It is a Monk weapon, so it can be used for a flurry.
It is a thrown weapon, so you can use TWF to get an extra attack (assuming you have 2 of them)
It can be retrieved as a free action, which means you can use one for a full-attack...
Does this mean you can do a flurry at range with them? From what I can see it is legit, just wondering if I am missing anything...

About the rope dart...
A monk still has to have proficiency with it, so you gotta burn a feat.
And...not to derail the thread, but a clarification is needed...
Monks can't FoB with daggers, slings or crossbows. These weapons do not have the "monk" special property.
Yes, monks are proficient in them. No, they can not be used to Flurry.

Ah, quite right, shuriken are the only ones that work without taking an archetype like Sohei to gain the ability to flurry with them.

I know I'm necroing this thread, but I would like to point out that Unchained Monks are proficient with any weapons with the monk quality such as a Rope Dart. Which means a Rope Dart can be used without needing Exotic Weapon Proficiency.
Base monk (from CRB) does not gain proficiency with all monk weapons, only unchained monk does so. And as Unchained hadn't come out yet at the time, you had to spend a feat on exotic prof.
