Inuit weapon help

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So I was looking into inuit weapons for a character and I stumbled onto something called a kakivak. Now besides looking terrifying as all hell I'm wondering what exactly it was used to hunt, if we have it in print somewhere for player use, and if not what would be a good analogy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a fishing spear, with the prongs preventing the fish from sliding off when you pull it up. There's a video of someone using one Here.

A good analogy might be a masterwork tool for either Profession (Fisherman) or Survival checks to find food.

Here's a LINK to a picture.

I agree. Completely terrifying to look at, even with the video posted above. Mostly just from the idea of this thing, and the ideas that percolate when thinking of ogres or other large creatures using them to pick up PC's like puppets...

If the Harpoon didn't just work on a Critical then I would say go for a Harpoon for stats but the special quality of the Harpoon only works on a Critical so it really doesn't function right.

mancatcher from the APG might be a good analogy?

wow I totally saw it as like a seal catching implement or something with the rear prongs helping to hook the animal when it recoils from the spear point. That totally changes my perspective.

As for weapon yeah we thought about harpoon but realized she would already be using harpoons anyways. We also thought about mancatcher but it feels off. Maybe trident?
