Any word yet?

We're in the final hours! The five finalists shall be announced soon!

Damn! How did I miss this!?! I hope there will be another contest like this :(

OK.....not going to lie, it all came down to me holding everyone up....I had to get my five narrowed down (which was harder than I thought it would be).

Several stood out to me from the pack....but I am going to refrain from giving hints, lol.

@Odraude - I do believe we are looking at doing this as an annual contest, so there will be more chances :)

Two finalists have been confirmed but not yet announced. The other three will be confirmed within the next 24 hours and an announcement on the top five finalists will be posted tomorrow!

Are you confirming them with each other or are you contacting the winners beforehand?

Ditto.

We are confirming the winners among ourselves (Thilo, Joshua, and I).

We have three solid adventure choices thus far.

The last two spots are contested by four final choices. We're almost there folks!

Just confirmed it. Any minute now, folks!

Agreed. Also very honored to be picked. Congrats to my fellow finalists.

Congrats to all finalists! You all well deserve the chance to share your vision! :)

I may have missed this somewhere during the contest, but how will the final winner be decided? Will the decision be made by the judges? Public vote?

The final winner will be decided by review-averages over the shop-platforms, I think.

Congrats to the winners and to the other valiant submitters who didn't quite make it (myself in the latter group). :D

Oh WOW ... I am sorry I missed this, but glad to hear it may be (will be) an annual "event".

But of course congratulations to the winners/finalists! Way to go! :)

I have an idea or two that I think will work out nicely for this.

Regards,

Dean

Congratulations Donato! You must have had a reroll on that save :)

Congratulations motteditor/Jacob and also to Michael, Michael, and Luis.
I am humbled to be in your company :)

Thanks for offering this opportunity Adventureaweek and thanks to Endzeitgeist and KTFISH7

Congrats to my fellow finalists, and also all who entered. I think being willing to put your ideas out there for others to see counts as a win. I've gotten a lot from feedback discussions in various forums from other contests and patronage projects, so I encourage everyone to join in as Jonathan suggests. It truly helps you up your writing game.

Congratulations to all the finalists and everyone who submitted something!

Been sleeping away the day my friends, so I apologize for my tardiness, lol....let's open with Congratulations to the finalists.

For every one who submitted a pitch I also say congratulations. Submitting a thought for an adventure requires more than simply slapping an idea of a note. These submissions showed thought, creativity and a great deal of potential.

This will indeed be more chances to enter Pathmaster. Remember that just because we had to narrow this down to 5, there were still a lot of great pitches submitted. Some that made the decisions really hard to decide on the final 5.

And yes, I did have my personal pick for this whole thing, but I am going to refrain from saying who until this is all over, lol.

Ahhhhhhh GenCon......there are so many things Jonathan and I have been talking about we are planning, lol. Game sessions with friends, the classic group pictures (for as many of the RotD crew we can get together), sharing the final results of Pathmaster (would be awesome if we could meet you folks in person, shake some hands kiss some babies, you know).

Wait a minute, did I say game sessions???

Many Pathmaster participants have asked if they may rewrite their adventure submission then submit it again under our regular adventure submission program.

The answer is YES! ANYONE may submit an adventure pitch to Adventureaweek.com.

Before you send in your pitch, the following steps are recommended:

1. Sign up for a free trial at Adventureaweek.com.

2. Read our submission guidelines and download the free ACT (Adventure Composition Tutorial) and MRT (Map Request Tutorial) PDFs.

3. View our forum posts under Successful Adventure Development.

4. Share your final adventure pitch with your friends so they may provide you with valuable feedback.

5. Send in your pitch to submit(at)adventureaweek.com (make sure you are following these guidelines.)

My last tip: Remember to think outside the box and color outside the lines!

Don't be scared folks. Check out not just mine, but all the adventures. Your reviews are important to all of us!

Reviews of ALL Pathmaster-modules coming either this week or next one. I'll post all on the same day to maintain fairness. :)
Two have as of today been completed (both scoring rather good ratings), the others are in draft phase 2.

Cheers and congrats to all participants!

Looking forward to seeing the reviews, Endzeitgeist.

Also, here's the first (I believe) interview of five with the Pathmaster authors.

All reviews done and posted on my site. Also sent the reviews to Nerdtrek and GMS magazine. I'll post them here and on OBS soon.

Thanks for the review, Endzeitgeist. It's great to hear the positive words. Also, I'm glad you enjoyed the feather fall bit.

I definitely agree that downtime rule support would have complimented the adventure well. However, I was intentionally going Core only, as this was my first adventure and wanted to keep things as simple as possible. Well, as simple as I can with time travel. Also, by the end of it, I was strapped for word count, so I didn't really have the space to do it justice beyond a mention. I would have loved an extra thousand words to sneak it in. Maybe in a sequel?

Thanks again!

I'd LOVE a sequel and, as mentioned, I am wholeheartedly applauding each and every one of you - I did not kid when I said that I'd love to see more from you and the other guys. Great job!

Contributor

Well, if I had my way, this would just be the first part of a trilogy. ;)

That would be awesome!

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

Thanks, Endzeitgeist! The review was much appreciated!

Thanks for the all the reviews Endzeitgeist - and also for believing in us all to get us to this point. And congrats to all my fellow scribes. Happy gaming to all!

I'm just curious how many of us planned for sequels to our mods? I was just thinking about "Beyond Ironwall Gap" (working title, of course) today. Think I've actually almost got it all plotted out now.
