I recent decided not to run my Jade Regent campaign after my players turned on me when due to scheduling conflicts I was unable to DM for a few weeks.
We had finally set a time to run the campaign when two of my players decided that they would rather go do something else than play in my campaign.
When i was discussing how I felt abused due to this, he flat out said that i shouldnt complain because it's not like DMing is hard. And that he could do it way better than I could. (He just started playing pathfinder with us at the beginning of JR.)
Was cancelling this the right decision?

If the game isn't fun anymore (with this group) there's no sense in torturing yourself.
It seems like you tried to talk it out first, which is really all you can do.
ps: whale cancer, I always respect my DM - I just wish he wouldn't kill me as often ;)
Haha, see some of the optimizing and min/maxing threads going on now. 7 strength sometimes sneaks up on you like a shadow.
(Also, you only died during the TPKs in the last two campaigns, that is pretty good!)

Give your friend the chance to prove his claim. Let him host it. Either he's right and he will make a better GM, in which case you will get to play in some awesome games for a change, or he will learn just how wrong he was, respect you a little more, and maybe even apologize.

Based solely on the information given, you did the right thing.
However, I'm not surprised to hear a story like this. Going through forums for a lot of "modern" games a common recurring theme seems to be that the GM isn't really a Game Master anymore but rather a circus performer present only for the sole benefit of the player's giggles.
