I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet (admittedly it is rather expensive) but the Apparatus of the Crab can make for an excellent battlesuit for casters.
Just make sure to get a trained hireling to drive it for you so that you can direct your energy to spellcasting.
Back when it was called the apparatus of Kwalish, my PCs were exploring some air-filled domes in a sunken city and came across an old manufacturing stithy for the things. There was one in working order... but it already had an owner - a very brutal undead warrior-type (not a graveknight, but the same idea) who waded into them with the apparatus. Once it was trashed, the death-warrior rose from the wreckage to continue the carnage.
That's the only time I recall getting to use the words of what seems like every Final Fantasy boss ever:
"Now face my true form!!!"

Possess Object is kind of nifty . . .
http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateMagic/spells/possessObject.html
. . . if you don't mind or can work around the limitations (can't speak, can't cast spells).
Lasts a long time (hours per caster level) can eventually can get pretty big (gargantuan, by CL 16).

I don't really see the point of Construct Armor when you have Animate Object Constructs or other sorts of Constructs that do the same thing.
Animate a Wagon, and it will give you cover, take actions on its own, attack on its own (you can direct it as a free action), and you can make your own actions. It isn't hard to see how you could design something with legs that provided cover for you while you sat in a booth on top of it.
That might only give you soft cover. You might need to make some sort of structure like War Elephants had to get improved cover, but with Hardening you could make a very tough defensive structure that is still pretty light.

Essentially, Construct Armor can be used on animate objects. It gives a buffer for you to wear.
With Make Whole and Rapid Repair, a wizard could heal some..
If you make an animated huge shurikin, turn it into construct armor, you get essentially 20/- dr. Ada does help against your DR though, and you get 3d10+20 more hp. You can increase the HD 1.5 of that, and if you enchant it, It would get +2 hardness +10 more hp per level of enchantment.
Weapons have a hard time against you.
Since a 2h weapon is considered to be you size (if I'm told correctly), You could make.. quarter staff into construct armor.
