reach spell is a good feat in general, but why would it be necessary for this build?

It's good for inflict spells, which negative channelers can cast spontaneously. Reach metamagic rod does the same thing without raising the spell's slot level, which is handy.

I find it more useful for things like Bestow Curse or other kinds of touch spells.

Magical Lineage: Cure Moderate Wounds and Reach Spell at 3rd level are, while not necessarily germane to this topic, one of my go-to abilities when playing an Oracle.

I've considered this type of Channel Force cleric before for PFS. My only issue is that you have mandatory feats for your whole progression. Going Selective -> Versatile -> Channel Force -> Imp Channel Force -> (First available feat) -> Greater Channel Force is somewhat painful.

You can reasonably stop at Imp CF if you really want as the cone is plenty good, if only to spend your remaining two feats on Angel Blood and Angel Wings.
