Rules Questions

Hell and thanks for reading. Have a few questions that I am unsure on.

1. Enhancement bonused do not stack but want to clarify items worn and spells cast. How I read it if you have belt that gives a +6str enhancement bonus then you cant benfit from getting the spell Bull Might since both say enhancment bonus right? Thats how I read it but someone in game uses both.

2. The DC to make a magical item seems low and wanting to make sure Im reading it right.

[qoute=D20srd] The DC to create a magic item is 5 + the caster level for the item. The DC to create a magic item increases by 5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet [/qoute]

So if I have master craftsmen my rank will be my casterlevel. I use the scrolls for each day. If I want to put a 1st level spell into an item with CL of 1 what would the DC be? Have the item crafting feat.

DC would be 5+5+1 = 11 right?

1 is absolutely correct. Bull's Strength does not stack with a Belt of Giant Strength +6 because they are both Enhancement bonuses.

I have not really looked at the item crafting rules, so I'll leave that to more experienced Pathfinders.

If you have the scrolls necessary (one per day, remember -- this could be expensive if you're making an item that costs a lot since it requires 1 day per 1000 gp in the item's base price), then you effectively have the spell, so it would be only DC 6 (5 + caster level), unless there are other prerequisites I don't know about.

The Spellcraft check is intended to be fairly straightforward if you have all the prerequisites -- it's usually only a problem if you're trying to make something where you have very few of the pre-requisites and/or few ranks in Spellcraft.

+1

But I think if you use scrolls of spells you can't cast you have do make a UMD every day to use the scroll.

1) Correct
2) You do not need the spells to make an item UNLESS that item is spell-trigger, spell-completion, or a potion. For every spell you are missing the DC increases by +5.

If you want to avoid the +5 DC someone other than yourself may provide the spell each day you are making the item. Alternately, you may use a spell-trigger or spell-completion item to provide the spell for the day.

Note that all items have prerequisites in their descriptions. These prerequisites must be met for the item to be created. Most of the time, they take the form of spells that must be known by the item’s creator (although access through another magic item or spellcaster is allowed). The DC to create a magic item increases by +5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet. The only exception to this is the requisite item creation feat, which is mandatory. In addition, you cannot create potions, spell-trigger, or spell-completion magic items without meeting their spell prerequisites.

Ok so if i use scrolls I dont have the +5 to DC.

Gauss so can I make an item without using the the spell in any way just by increasing the DC by 5?

Example. Ring of invisiblity: Requirement: Craft Ring, CL 3, Invisiblity spell.

With Spell from any source (scroll, wand, another caster)
DC = 5 + 3 = 8

Without spell at all from any source:
DC = 5 + 3 + 5 = 13

So I wont need to buy scrolls or a wand to make an item if I can make the DC without any issues right?

Your figures are correct.

However, do note that Master Craftsman does not qualify you for Forge Ring. Craft Magic Arms and Armor and Craft Wondrous Item, only.

As MacGurcules stated your figures are correct. Please note that the +5DC applies for EACH spell you are missing if you are missing more than one.
