Detect Magic reveal undead?

Would detect magic reveal the presence of an undead skeleton hidden among a pile of bones? I would wager so...

An undead creature doesn't register to detect magic in itself. If it was summoned, it's an active spell effect. If it was created with a spell, it shows lingering magic for a short time depending on the level of the spell. A skeleton that's been there for a hundred years has long since lost the aura from its creation.
