Okay that feat needs the following tag

VFEAT:Point Blank Master

Per this JIRA Tracker the ranger Point Blank Mastery has been fixed.

Also the Cavalier Expert Trainer

DQ, we also have a public tracker system. If you find anything you can post it our main list. Or you can make a bug tracker yourself so you will get an immediate update when bugs get fixed. You'd just need to create a JIRA account at the above link.

On the Inventory/Purchase tab, I bought a couple of things, double clicked them, they disappeared and now I can't re-add them.

More detail please.

PCGen version (assuming 6.00.0)?
Datasets loaded?
What items did you add?
You "double clicked" on them. Was this on the right side panel or the left side panel?
Buy/Sell rate option at bottom of page?
Were these "custom" items, or "off the shelf items"?

Latest. No idea on datasets, just default as far as I know. Greataxe and heavy crossbow. Right panel. Masterwork.

Double-clicking in the right pane sells the item (or removes it depending on what the drop-down below is set to). You won't be able to find the customized items on the left because they are re-created each time when the character is loaded or PCGen is restarted. If you accidentally removed it, and you haven't closed PCGen, you can still find the items in the list of items.

Thanks. I was not familiar with JIRA but that looks like a useful service (although I am not sure how zealous I am to make my own accout :) ).

If the "main list" you refer to is the Yahoo Groups list, then I'm sorry, but I avoid that abominable service like the plague (by which I mean YahooGroups). I've had much too many problems with it with other YahooGroups lists I was on and refused to deal with it since. If that precludes me from being able to provide useful feedback (and I hope it is useful), then such it shall be.

It's incredibly useful. WAY more powerful and versatile than the old SF trackers we were using. Plus reports can be automatically generated out of it for release time :)

As Nylanfs says, however, you may have to search for it on the left side.

Yea, in order of preference and usefulness to us,

1) Jira
2) Yahoo group
3) Other, including here

If you do not wish to create a Jira account, and do not want to use Yahoo groups, no problem. Give the feedback / issues here, and I'll open the Jira and point to your post here. That way if a developer needs to contact you then can either have me send you a PM or post here.

Thanks for your feedback and help!

Thanks David. I'll look over JIRA at least if that's the most useful to you. I appreciate your understanding!

Much appreciated, I see how that works now!

I tried to use it;while it is undoubtedly well done and easy to use i cannot find options from Umagic or Ucombat.
There are no Magus,Ninja,Gunslinger or Samurai in the class choice;maybe it is still in the work but i thought it was complete?

Grats anyway.

When you start PCGen click on the advanced tab and load more sourcebooks, the basic tab ONLY loads the base core books for each system.

I must say that the latest version of PC gen is much better. I have been using it off and on for may years. Believe I started way back with version 3.

Agreed. I've always liked PC Gen but this is running better than ever. Even with the minor bugs in the system it's a good program. I need to play with the LST editor and see what that looks like.

Oh. Wait. I can't. Ah well. Something new to wait for I guess. That's a shame.

Yea, that project got pushed out since so much effort went into the new UI and we really wanted to get it out as it had been quite some time since the last production release.

I understand. I'm glad for the new version, believe me. I'm just looking forward to being able to code in my custom deities and such.

It's in the docs DQ, all you need is a plain text editor (like BBEdit or Notepad)

Also, i cannot find the favored class option.

Gandal wrote:

Under Feats and Abilities / Racial Abilities. You can also get to it from the Things to be Done box on the Summary tab; click on the "Favored Class remain to be selected" link.

Gandal wrote:

Quoting myself for being stupid....found it myself.

I just got PCGen to build my Monk and I got one thing that stumps me and one thing that is a problem
The thing that stumps me isn't a problem. After I pick my Favored Class, I pick the Favored Class Bonus. Usually this is Skill Point or Hit Point each level, but the Monk has listed a KI point and this is listed as a bonus point out of the Advanced players guide. I'd normally say "hey cool" but the monk doesn't get a KI pool until 4th level and this is giving KI points before then. I couldn't find a KI point bonus in the APG or the Errata. Again this isn't a problem as I never saw it in the rules and it has never been used in our game.

Second, I build a monk with Style Feats and none are listed even though you guys did the Ultimate Combat book. Is this something I would have to "house rule" and create the feats myself until you came out with an update with the listed feats?

APG Page 23, Human alternate racial trait:

Monk: Add +1/4 to the monk’s kipool.

So, at 4th level, you would gain 1 extra Ki point if you selected this at level 1 thru 4. There when you gain Ki points at 4th level, you gain the extra one.

By the way, it is not coded to add to the Ki pool, it currently is a descriptive only addition.

a) It's because the APG is still in Alpha state (as noted when the source is selected. And we are still finding and ironing the bugs out. I'll enter a tracker for this.

b) I see styles listed in 6.0.0, it might help if you type "style" in the search line at the top. Or right click where it says "Name" and select "Type/Name" and then find Styles

And just to be sure did you load the UC when you made the character? If not, in Tools > Preferences > Sources, unselect the "Autoload sources with PC" load the Ultimate Combat with the other sources you want. Then load your old character, then save it. Then you can either save the character and re-select the "Autoload", make sure you have the right sources selected, or select right sources then click the "Save Source Selection" and its available on the basic loading screen as the name you gave it.

I was bulding a magus, and at 3rd level i selected Spell Blending as magus arcan.Only it won't allow me to pick the extra spell to add to the magus spellbook.
I think i'm loading all the available supplements.

I don't think that that PCGen can add to your known spells via an ability. But I'm asking about it here.

From message

Hi,

We can select any spell, but we lack the ability to reliably add them.

Road Blocks:
a) SPELLLEVEL / SPELLKNOWN do not take %LIST (Requires %LIST to work on those two tags)
b) We can't designate which class is supposed to gain the spell (Requires
Multiple CHOOSE)

Due to the number of spells, manually setting up a trigger to add a selected spell is just too time consuming to be feasible.

Cheers,

I see.
For more complicated builds i'll stick with herolab, but this is a good generator.
Thanks.

Scarab Sages

Thank you David and Nylandfs for answering so many questions. I've been using PCGEN for a long time now, and I've loved every version. Putting in custom data can be a chore, but that's to be expected from such a complex (but easy once you've figured it out) list file system. The Yahoo group is also amazing as a resource. I've made quite a bit of custom content for my group over the years.

Thanks again for the new version and your help!

Scarab Sages

I am giving PCGen a try but am having difficulty building a magus with the kensai archtype.

I am correctly listed as needing to select a weapon proficiency and weapon focus. The program is not allowing me to select my martial weapon/exotic weapon proficiency or my weapon focus at level 1 due to having a BaB of < 1.

You have two options
a) Wait till second level to select the Kensai archetype
b) Turn off the feat/class/ability prerequisite checking to select the Weapon Focus

For b) do the following Tools > Preferences > House Rules, check "Bypass Feat Prerequisites" take the Weapon Focus, You can either leave this house rule on, but that can cause issues later down the road. I personally would turn it back on after the Weapon Focus is added.

I created a bug report, that can be seen HERE.

Edit: As well as using Nylanfs suggestions as a temporary workaround.

Scarab Sages

Raising my level did allow the selection of exotic weapon proficiency and weapon focus. Martial weapon proficiency remained unavailable. (>1 martial output)

Nylanfs' suggestion resulted in a corrupted file after a prolonged program freeze when I attempted to add my martial weapon proficiency. Errors included 3 stats being marked with *, excessive racial abilities messages for several races in the summery window, ect.

I took a look at the bug report but saw no mechanism where I would add a comment.

Is there someplace I can upload the corrupted file, if that would help? Or would you simply prefer to duplicate the bug and generate your own files?

and I will add it to the bug report and update the bug report. You have to have a Jira account to be able to comment (I think).

Does PC gen still count your sorcerer's bonus spells against your spells known? I seem to be having that problem, but I thought that had been resolved.

Caveat: I am an English major, and cannot be relied upon to count things.

Yes, but....

It compensates by adding 1 to the total for spells known, so the number works out the same.

Edit: However, it seems to be adding 2 instead of 1. Jira opened: http://jira.pcgen.org/browse/DATA-803

Ok, Jira updated, and file attached.

Greetings. I don't often come over onto these boards, but the Magus Kensai Archetype has been fixed to work for your level 1. When my code team gets the updates in, you'll actually see the proper feats displayed. As it stands, you'll see it listed under your special qualities for now.

Cheers,

quick question, is there a way to get a Changeling character yet? Or has that part not been finished?

Thank you for the Kensai fix.

The Advanced Race Guide data set was/is being worked on, but is not near ready for release.

Does PCGEN have the alternative Samurai class Sword Saint? How do i upload it? Many thanks.

Also I'm having trouble downloading the newest updated version. Where do I go to achieve this?

Looks like it's in Pathfinder Player Companion: Dragon Empires Primer. Is this in the newest update?

I do not think so. The Dragon Empires Gazetteer is in there, but in alpha status.

Scarab Sages

I have a problem with the new system: I have several templates that are preloaded for every character - undead, ooze, construct, and a couple of others. Anyone else have that issue?
