Advice... Illusion Spells (may have been asked already)

Advice

I'll looking for some contain or past uses of silent image, minor image, and major image spells in your games that will help me build an encounter for mine.

I'm building an illusionist villian to be the beginning "med-level" boss to my storyline and need some help with ideas of illusion spells for him to use against the party.

If you have any stories or ideas on illusion spells you have used, please share.
thanxs.

Something I had thought of recently is that you could use illusions as a means to humiliate a PC, or NPC if you wanted. I came to this thought after realizing that making a will save on an illusion does not necessarily mean that it would go away. I figured that despite someone realizing what is going on, an illusionist could still maintain an illusion just to annoy that target. Case in point, lets say Illusionist wizard wants to humiliate big stupid fighter companion. What if illusionist were to use silent image to cause a phallic like protuberance to spring forth from BSF's forehead or some such. It has no real combat purpose, but if BSF were in polite company it would be exceedingly humiliating. and even if everyone knew it was fake? well it is still there and wont go away until the wizard gets bored. Mostly an RP thing, but could be useful/amusing.

gnome illusionist

feats: spell focus:illusion, threatening illusion, effortless trickery, persistent spell(or a lesser rod of it)

say with magic items you have a 24 spellcasting stat.

when you wake up in the morning and memorize spells, you use a 4th level spell slot to memorize a threatening(metamagic feat above) major image. you immediately cast it using the metamagic rod, making something scary only 1 square big. you then spend a swift action for the rest of the day maintaining it(effortless trickery). any time you come across bad guys you can place the illusion in a spot to flank, and they have to succeed at 2 DC 22 will saves(persistent) or be threatened by the illusion. you still have your move and standard action every round.

shadow gambit is a feat that lets you destroy one of your ongoing illusions to do real damage to people.

placing an illusionary wall spell to recreate a floor over a pit trap is a permanent spell and unlikely to be noticed since illusions have to be interacted with to get a save, and once you interact with the illusion youre probably falling into the pit(or an active perception check would grant a save also if PCs are actively looking)

I would also recommend the 3.5 description of illusions all about illusions part 1 which is a series explaining how do deal with illusions. pathfinder has never made one but i think it is very good read for everyone who has to deal with illusions, as player or GM.
all about illusions part 2
all about illusions part 3
all about illusions part 4

I'm a bit late to this party... I'm am currently playing a arcane trickster type... currently just started the game 1 level of wizard but 1 thing I plan on trying as is combining silent image + ventriloquism + ranks in bluff, stealth, religion and language skills such as goblin, orc... I am a trickster that likes to practice his craft on the religiously minded.... sneaking into goblin camps and such.. making images of goblin demon lords while using ventriloquism to convince the goblins that they will be punished if they don't attack the other goblin camp... thus killing 2 birds with 1 stone

so if I was dm using this tactic and wanted to weaken the players... I have a goblin trickster follow the party around using stealth and expeditious retreat to get away if found out (he could be a reoccurring villain) he would use ghost sound to make distant dragon noises (or some other monster too powerful to fight) and after a while the monster would appear and demand ransom (tax) to pass or face fight and death... I wouldn't demand everything they have just all their gold or a magic item... it would be up to the players to call the bluff or not... if the players follow and chase the goblin he would have pit trap set to aid in his escape and he would continue 1 time a week to pickpocket and harrass the PC's
