Chrome equipment

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I may be posting this in the wrong place. Couldn't really find a place for it.

So I was playing a game on roll20. Loving the campaign. However, my character smashed a display case and found what the DM called:

Masterwork Chrome Full plate w/helm
Masterwork Chrome 2h Heavy Crossbow
Masterwork Chrome Lance
Masterwork Chrome greatsword

I know what the actual weapons/armor do. I however am a bit confused on the "Chrome" piece. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

They're just shiny. Beware of goblins. And Giant Dire Magpies.

There's nothing official in Pathfinder about chrome equipment. Ask your DM what he meant. It's probably just a joke.

Indeed. Appears that the GM just wanted it VERY aware that they were shiny. No rules for Chrome.

None in the published rules anyhow. He might drop something on you later. I know I would.

There wouldn't be.... Chrome is a rather modern creation. And an extremely toxic process.

Seriously? It's magic.

And that means exactly what? as a response?

What, mithril isn't shiny enough for you?

I foresee a rust monster in your future >.>;

Hehe.

and Tengu.

Chrome resists corrosion. It might be that he may not be aware of Chromes recent arrival on the metallurgic scene, in which case he might be trying to "Hint" that it's Mithril. If not then perhaps it's just fancy and shiny.

Then again... where exactly was this display case you smashed? If it was in a museum or in the possession of a wizard or outsider... it could be from a different planet (like our own) that makes gear plated with Chrome.
