I would love to but after two break downs and two subsequent repairs of my laptop I don't dare to turn on anything that is hard on processor/gfx. I won't be capable of changing computer/doing full repair anytime soon, but somehow I managed to do either I will gladly buy and play GW2...
Let the comment about the game be that my friend who played beta already reserved leave of absence for the premiere. He is working in internet portal about computer games so his boss understood the situation well.

I have it pre-ordered. Grabbed it from Newegg when they had it on sale for 47.95. I didn't even play the first one, but 48 bucks for a no-subscription, highly-rated MMORPG? Heck. Yes.
Info's been pretty sparse as far as I can tell. Most of it seems to relate it to GW1, which is useless to me, as I didn't play the first one :P
Looking forward to it, though. Especially those bad-ass rabbit-people-things.

I have played the first one and it was fun although I don't remember how far I got just that it wasn't really far. I followed the news about it and when I heard that one of my favorite classes from the first game was for sure going to be included I decided I really might just get this game. So I will be playing when it launches! I wouldn't mind grouping up with folks either (I'm not set on a server yet).

Aye. Pre-purchased the game a couple of months ago. And while I cannot say I'm jumping on one leg atop a pole waiting for it, I did like what I saw in the beta.
I'll be sporting a wizard and an engineer.
Both look like a lot of fun I have to say. Well chosen. Wizard would probably be my third pick. I like Ranger most with Greatsword mesmer close behind.

I am just so, so sad that the monk won't be present. Healer classes are my favorite, and the GW1 Monk was, I think, the best there is/was/ever will be in terms of flavor. The pressure of monking in high-level PvP was just tremendous.
I guess I see what they're doing, wanting to make classes self-sufficient, but - I don't know. It's just a shame. Countless hours I monked - countless. So much fun. And now, nothing like it.
I tried Guardian, but I didn't really like it much.
Still, it'll be so nice to log into a game named "Guild Wars" and have there be a million people running around that I'll forget how sad I am. For a moment.

Well, a few more days to wait until launch...
Incidently, I will be on Tarnished Coast too.
I also will be playing there. Poked around and it seems it will be the local unofficial RP server.
Perhaps we should use this topic to coordinate and meet up in-game once it launches? The Pathfinder Society would be present and accounted for.

The question is, on a RP server, would a "Pathfinder Society" guild fit the setting and the lore?
What about a Pathfinder Society charter being founded long ago by a planar traveller/botched teleport wizard?
Or perhaps the planet is far into the Black Veil and some adventurous folk got there on an aether-capable ship?
All we need is an original, consistent reason for the charter to have a connection to Golarion, and the rest we can build up in accordance to the GW2 setting without breaking immersion.

Could someone elaborate on what they mean by an "RP server"?
I take it to mean I should (rarely) see things like "HotDog" and "BlondsHaveFun".
I was planning on going Dragonbrand or Darkhaven, but if my fellow paizo fans are in the Tarnished Coast I may want to make that my home.
For an OFFICIAL RP server, that would be the case, yes.
However as its UNOFFICIAL (since ArenaNet decided not to dedicate/label any servers in such a manner) you might still see a fair number of silly names. The counter to this, however, is that you should also see a fair number of fitting names as well since it seems, as a whole, the community has decided to make Tarnished Coast their home.
For me, it's always a deal breaker for grouping with others. I don't care if you're the only tank on the server currently online, if you're name is DoItForTheLulz ... we will NOT be grouping. I'll go heal a rock (though luckily since there is no trinity system <tank, dps, heals> even THIS won't be an issue now!)

Let me expand my question then... Does RP in this context mean then same it does in PRPG? Am I expected to talk in character at all times? Would you boot me for using terms like tank, dps, aoe, etc?
I'm a longtime fan of GW, but my MMO experience has always been that my friends ditch the game for the "teh newest release" while I plough along through content, so I've been fairly self reliant. I'd like serious mature players to party with on occasion, so I'm liking what I've heard so far.

Well, having been playing MMOs since UO back in 1998, it is very rare for an RP server, even an official one, to be really RP the whole time.
Usually, they have rules, but due to practical reason are rarely enforced beyond blatan naming violations (and that when they get reported a lot).
My personal preference is to remain in a "Flexible IC Mode", where I play In-Character as default but switch to Out-of-Character when I'm in a situation where such a thing could be seen as bothersome (such as when joining a random PvP group or being invited into a raid hosted by non-roleplayers).
In general, though, I believe it is a matter of common sense and making sure the game stays fun. Things like Guild Chat and guild meetings I generally take as RP-Only, while all other situations are on a per-case basis.
But if there is one thing I dislike more than someone breaking other people's immersion just because is roleplayers who take the whole thing too seriously. Booting someone off a guild for saying "AoE" is among those things.
I think we should think of Pathfinder Society as a Roleplaying/Paizonian Hang-Out Site and work it up from there.

Guys, this game is GREAT.
It's GREAT.
Some problems with the Trading Company aside, this is the most fun I've ever had with a game, and it's not really that close. I urge anyone reading and curious to take a look at some of the reviews, and drop the $60 (or whatever). I'll expound later.
Closer to $700 for some of us... *sniff*

Drejk, whaaat?
Also, I'm on Dragonbrand and have a blast in every game type. We get stomped hard by Blackgate in WvW over night because of their strong Euro and Oceanic presence, but come evening US time, and we do awesome.
Find a guild with voice chat by the way. It makes the game so much more enjoyable :)

Played abit on two different toons until level 6 or 7 on Dragonbrand.
2 Pals of mine bought the game, one likes it because its free to play monthly, the other is mad at himself for buying it.
Im bored of it already personally, and I'm already back to leveling a Pally in WoW.
It's decent, just the lack of endgame is a huge negative, IMHO. Exploarble dungeons in concept just wont do it for me. I prefer the sacred cow of MMO end-game raiding. The personal story while questing is a nod to SW:TOR while the pop-up events are done better in Rifts (which also has decent raiding at endgame).
TBH, I'll likely go back to SW:ToR from time to time when it goes free to play and keep WoW running as my pay-to-play MMO for now.
