Well Berks, the Spin has come to ask all on the Spike, to put their Brain Box's round the Idea. If a game in the City of Doors would be fun.
Now here's the Book true, The good about the city of door, you can be any race and I mean any. Long as its playable you can have it, if not the lady will send it down to the labyrinth see. Class well all, that right ya get all kinds here. But if ya looking to a god for help forget it, no gods magics works in Sigil right, She do not like gods here see and they have no powers, so they stay well away, just dusty's in the making likes you and me, berk.
So what ya think come for a walk down the Hive A!, have us some fun.

I'm interested as well, and will apply with a Modron Bard when you're ready. Someone needs to sing of the fate of our race, since suddenly the books of the "Pathfinder" sages have totally ceased to acknowledge our existence.
(BTW-- Is an adaptation of Planescape to Pathfinder rules published somewhere online?)

Im going to have a long hard think about this, I need to be 100% ok I have the time to GM and I know the backgrond to the level some of you pos players do, you have all ready talked of stuff beyond me. I think for this to work well it needs a GM whos very upto speed on the whole world of planescape.

It doesn't have to be steeped in lore if you have a few of the basics worked out. It can just be Your Sigil as long as it feels like Sigil.
Oh and I am thinking
Tengu Urban Druid
or
Beastbrood Tiefling Mysterious Stranger

The Lady of Pain |

Ok had a think and lets move to making PC,s
Your going to 6th level, I think this will give any one seeking to by a none core race or monster that chance to take the level hits and still have some levels in some thing of class,
I will OK PCs on a PC by PC case by case bases, so if you want a Tengu Urban Druid you can have one just make Pathfinder fit it. Find cleaver ways to make your PC.
Do god bases magic of any kind, The lady dos not like gods and she hates there followers even more, you can be an agent but you will get no magic of divine help, Divine magic items how ever will work fin if you can trust what you just paid for down the market.
Every one knows one other so work out who and how.
One contact name - who - and what are they
One enemy - who and why
Some thing you care about, what and why
Crunch
20 Points
4 Traits (one planescape-ish) (I like em)
level 6 gold coin (some one post what that is have to rush off.
Ok start biulding PCs

So i'm still kinda stuck on this Tetori Mind-Flayer concept. Take a look Here To see a player race version. I'd take a 1 level adjustment so just be level 5 monk. I beleive the HD would unlock the extract ability which just makes it easier to kill things instead of having to tie them up. It's not much more powerful that normal grappling as with normal grappling I can grapple-pin-tie up and with mindflayer it's grapple-attach-extract. If you're not coll with it I can definitely come up with something else. It is Sigil after all.

Shizzle69 |

hmm well then I don't see a good way of doing it then. I'll just have to come up with something different...Hmm thinking cap and some "inspiration" are going to be needed.
I think of the classes you mentioned only the paladin and inquisitor are technically god based spells correct. Druid and ranger get theirs from nature itself, and oracle is kinda whatever you want. I forget can we just worship The Lady herself or does she hate that. Man i need to play torment again apparently.

Scott Carter |

couple of questions/clarifications
1)So no paladin, inquisitor, oracle, druid or ranger spell casting?
2)Can arcane classes that can cast healing magic still do so, a la bard for instance?
I agree that oracle, druid, and rangers do not require gods. Its the worship, and presence, of deities the Lady does not tolerate - not divine magic or healing.

Sir Torrin the Mad |

One contact name - who - and what are they
Deadiron Falks - Namer Dustman who sells body parts as reagents for spells. Sir Torrin uses them as models whenever he changes his eidolon's basic configuration. Sir Torrin pays top dollar for bits of exceptionally strange creatures.
One enemy - Amer Xanthus Godsman Factor who knighted Torrin before he broke with the faction. He has posted a bounty for bringing Sir Torrin to the Foundry where he would be a prisoner for life. He is also the one who declared Torrin insane (mostly for breaking vows he made). Torrin wears the motley because being considered insane is a fairly decent protection.
Some thing you care about, what and why: Avoiding permanent imprisonment in the Great Foundry. Torrin values his time spent there. At the time, he dedicated himself to the work of the foundry becoming a relatively accomplished weaponsmith. But he was pulled away from the order as it became increasingly clear that he was no closer to divinity than he was before. He has abandoned the goal of refining his soul. He believes the only true escape is new experiences, seeing all that can be seen. Rather than refining his soul he is expanding it, hoping this new path betters his soul. Being shackled to a forge would frustrate this goal.

Scott is correct, I could even argue that faith in a idea would be enough to power spells. Planescape is built on ideas and belief. Thats the thing I love about that setting, if you can convince enough people to believe, you can litterally move towns to other planes. The the Sign of One faction, great example of believe made real.

O you can be a divine caster/class its just the divine is powerless, the closer you get to the spike the less and less a gods powers work, also, from Plane to plane gods change so in one you may have power but step out of another door and nothing. Arcane casters or druid or ranger if they are TN and have Nature as there core faith, that two is pretty universal , For an oracle any pour god less mysticism will do, such as "The way" or " The Grate wheel of life" that kind of thing.
Clerics, paladins, inquisitor, who gain class stuff from faith in a god, Demons, Devils, Saints any thing like that is powerless just as their gods, Demons, Devils, Saints.
Now faith inside Sign is another thing yes you could try and get other to follow you and make up a faith, Two downside to this.
1: The lady of pain will start to hunt you down and dice and slice.
2: The lady of pain will start to hunt you down and dice and slice.
As I said she will not brook gods even in the making in her realm
However faiths of abstract ideas without a manifested being of power at their core may last longer, example
Buddhism would not be tolerated by her as most of its followers believe in a all powerful Buddha entity.
Where as pour Taoism would be, as its core faith has no god being or after life. However it followers has a habit believing in Demons and other such beings running around the world, so at some point to meany will believe in one such demon and POP it will come in to being, just in time for it and its followers to meet the lady a dice and slicing OUCH!
Have faith by all means but the moment you start to gain powers from that faith she will know as this means some god-ling is being rude and the lady of pain will start to hunt you and your god down for a fast dice and slice. :)
Any Healing magic made on the spike is arcane in nature, so a wand/scroll of CLW, restoration, etc may be used by Arcane casters, I will rule this. how ever items from outside that are divine can be used with a "Use Magic Item" roll as ill say the "magic" is locked into the item.

Ok what I will do is once I see a Player has got to a point I like, they will be asked to the Pub for a drink. The Pub is called the
"Nag heads"
A street bork will come up to you and says.
"You looks like a cutter who knows the book, want to make some coin true, a? why not head down Stump Street close to the hall of records. Pub there called the "hag heads" Its a little know place run by "Sid the Devil" and his wife Isabel the Elf (some say shes a Were-bear but best not say that around Sid right, mind you she is a bit on the hairy side.) look for the drunk dragon playing cards, called "Mr Tippie Toe" hes looking for clever like you." and off he runs looking closely at every one he passed but not stopping at any.
I'll make a discussion thread and we can start from there.

The Lady of Pain |

Let me make clear
any thing thats a "spell like ability" is just that it replicates a spell
say magic flight is just that, an ability you have. But some thing like cast a devine spell 3/day you can have, but the spell not the ability will just not work on in Sigil. (I keep hinting here. it may work on other plains) As i said each PC will be a case by case deal.
Once I have 3 or more pc's to a stage I think is ok, and the others agree, please by all means help and check each others PC, I do want a fun and working game etc.
:) Im not a hard GM I put fun before all things, rules are fine but of they brake fun then they are not working. But Rules have to be inplace to keep a game from braking etc.
Ok GM rules
Rule 1- Fun
Have fun, if its not fun whats the point
Rule 2- Braking rules
All other rules are there to have fun if they stop fun I will brake them.
Rule 3- XP
In my games your going to get XP for RPing funny, clever and Smart over Kill/loot/xp. Your more likely to get XP by stopping a fight cleverly than laying wast to vast numbers of mooks. Case in point,
"lets go in the caves and kill em all" = low XP
"NO lets stink them out and then offer them a deal to work for us" = High XP.
Rule 4- Initiative
In all situations where Initiative is needed
The order of action is as follows (Initiative sets order per grouping)
Grouping->
1-Running Away at the start of a round you say "Im running away" you go 1st if you can find a root to run and can run.
2-Actions (Putting out the light, casting (none harmful) Illltions etc) Actions are none directly harmful things you do in a round, you go after running away.
3-Hitting things (Directly harming some thing/one) you go last you sicko, come on if you can not think of a clever way out of this fight then why not fall back on hitting it with a pointy stick, really call yourself civilized etc.
I have found this leads to a lot more fun in game play and makes the players thing about more than Crunch.
Rule 5- Fluff
This is not really a rule but an observation, we play RPG games and they started as way to make alter egos for ourselves, some how ever play them as wargames and spend way to much time gaming the RPG System in crunch and forget the Soul of a PC is in the Fluff. Well Im a GM who not only likes Fluff it may just be more use then Crunch when your playing Rule 4. If you say "I take out the perfume ive been collecting and use it to make the other female dragon seem nice to the male whos talking about eating is, he mind may move dinner to forplay"
That kind of stuff saves ya PC;s life more than how you got a +1 off a stat buff. :)
My game play.

Ok so I'm not really sure on race or class but I have a name and a aspect of my characters personality and backstory.
Bastille Targarian (aka Batty). She ran away after her entire family was assasinated in a coup of her grandfathers throne. Found solace in a ruined but occupied convent/monastery. Spent many years there trying to learn to be peaceful and at rest. There in the abandoned dungeon and catacombs she befriended many bats. She trained them to watch her back and use their extraordinary senses to warn her of would be assassins. One day in the catacombs a portal opened and feeling curious she stepped through. She found herself in Sigil. It was at this moment that a particular bat flew out of her trenchcoat(where she lets her buddies "hang" out) and into the city never to be seen again. The bat was the key and now she is stuck here. No longer afraid of those that killed her family, now she shares the worries of all those who find themselves in the cage.

Shizzle69 |

So I think i'm going to go witch or druid. I'm curious if you would allow me to use the Arcane Heirophant prestige class? If not I'll probably stick with witch.
