Scabbard of Vigor

Rules Questions

I have a question, I am playing a Magus currently and we got one of these as a reward. I was wondering if my char can draw a weapon Get the Enhancement bonus for the limited Turns then use the Magus ability to boost the weapon.

In todays game, I Moved, Drew the sword Adding +4, swift action at lvl 5 added +1 keen to the weapon then cast blade dash Critted and insta anihilated a pretty geared bad guy. There was no complaint from the DM but. I figured i would double check.

Basically does the magus ability to increase the power of a weapon that is already enchanted work if Its a temporary enchantment (such as greater magic weapon or, in this case the scabbard of Vigor)

Sovereign Court

Oddly...the Magus' ability seems to actually allow that to work just fine. Which is rather unexpected. I was going to tell you that same named bonuses don't stack, but the Magus ability actually says that it can. Crazy.

Yeah, Honestly it makes the scabbard really useful as an alpha strike. In this case i ran 15 feet up a wall, cut the Enemy in half as i then went past her fifteen feetin the air while trailing Magic lights. It was probly so Anime-esque attack ive ever done while playing PF. i could have called out my Attack power as i did it but somone likely would have hit me at the table. I only realized the imagery afterwards.

One thing im unsure of though is if the order of doing it would matter. But i think if i re-sheathed my sword after already boosting it as a Magus then re-drew it that it would just be +4 keen and not +5 keen. Not sure if it matters though since i think its better as a first round thing anyhow.

Hmm, if the Magus' Magic Weapon Arcane Pool ability stacks with it, could you in theory turn a +5 weapon into a +6 for damage and not adding a +1 bonus?

I think it'll be a no as weapons can only go up to +5 for damage, but it's just a thought I wanted to double check over.

Pretty sure the existing inherent magic enhancment rules for weapons and probably the magus ability to enhance them prevents that. Which is why i went with +1 Keen when i did it.

Yea, that's what I was thinking.

Still, you pulled off a pretty awesome action there. :p
