rewarding convention goers or people that will spend on average $50 a month on their products and not get full value for thier money because Mike and Mark want to pump convention attendance. Do not lock races or classees to convention only things. There are many things that Mike and mark can give out for boons other than races. Give out a on time stat bump a unique magic item.

There are still things in the ARG you can use even without being one of the special snowflake races. There is no inherent gurantee that you're going to be able to use all you buy PFS. We were even warned about this in regards to the ARG in advance, so you had the opportunity to cancel your purchase. Even as a subscriber you could have canceled your subscription until the next book came up in the cycle.

The problem with this logic is then, the folks that want those stat bumps or think the unique magic items are important are going to whine that they're only available to congoers/folks that go to events. And they may be the people saying, give out unimportant things like race boons and class options at cons.

Who's opinion is more important. Yours? Theirs?

Paizo has a lot to consider, and really, there's a lot of arguing over what races are available when they've already hinted that other stuff may be opened up in 4.2.

EDIT: Also, if this was intended as not a dig but a rhetorical question to prove a point by identifying a very real situation in terms of identification, please say so! Tone and inflection don't always translate well in text and this can go many different ways.
That was how I read it, based on the context.

Indeed. Someone wasn't sure how a person could identify as something they've never physically been, so I brought up the subject of transgendered...ness. ("Transgenderism"?)

Side note: full-speed halflings are worth the cost of the ARG. Holy wow.

Yeah, since my PFS halfling cleric is only 1st level, and I probably won't play him more than once before GenCon, I'll qualify for the rebuild rule that I'm pretty sure will be in the new Guide to Organized Play. As a heal/buff cleric, being able to keep up with the allies I need to touch to heal and buff will be a good thing. He already has the Travel domain with its +10 speed, but medium armor cancels that out.

I also have a new halfling character that I just made this week and plan to play in a couple of weeks at a con, and I'm a little more torn about giving him the speed boost. The problem there is that he's a roguish character who will be using acrobatics to get into position for flanks regularly, so I really wanted that +2 racial acrobatics bonus. But the extra speed is almost definitely worth giving that up.

Either way, this one thing for halflings, and some of the other stuff I'm hearing about from the ARG on these forums, have pretty much convinced me that it's worth the $10 for the pdf.
