My apologies ahead of time if this has been answered.. looked through a bunch of the Paizocon threads + the FAQ and not finding a definitive answer, perchance I shall search the hotel website? (Although don't know if event rules supercede/coincide)
Are open drinks allowed inside the hotel/Game rooms/at tables? Must they be purchased from the hotel bar (Does it have a bar??) Outside drinks allowed?
Was hoping to enjoy some refreshment (and possibly enjoy the 'Dead PFS PC Drinking game). And... maybe bringing a cooler of some chilled Hard Alcohol for tables/gms. (Nothing like rewarding your GM with some liquid 'refreshment')

This likely depends on the hotel. The last couple of years no one really said anything about open containers outside of the hotel bar (not saying if it was legal or not, just saying no one questioned us).
At the banquet there was a cash bar, so I doubt outside alcohol was allowed at that specific time. Prices weren't absolutely ridiculous, but they weren't cheap either. ($3-4 each maybe?)
Hm...I wonder if I could bring a cooler as checked luggage...

True fact, I know of exactly two walmarts in all of seattle and one of them just opened. A friend of mine says that they had to do it in a particularly surreptitious way just to get in the spot but I don't know how much I believe that. That one is eastside but it's bellevue. The other one is on aurora on the westside well past most of the parts I've moved around in.
Fred Meyer is where you will likely go for that kind of thing, or Safeway, or QFC, Target also across from the Fred Meyer. All within walking distance of the con, though safeway is the closest. Fred Meyer and target are the closest to wal-mart and just past the safeway.
Well when I said Walmart, I didn't literally mean Walmart :) I avoid that damn store as often as possible.

Good news Pallius, a law just passed here that allows the sale of liquor at grocery stores.
For instance, the Bartell Drug store near my apartment has an excellent selection.
You shouldn't have too much trouble.

Funny you should ask about that. In June, regular grocery stores with at least 10,000 square feet of warehouse space got the ability to sell alcohol and the state stores closed. Unfortunately, some of my favorite brands have become exceedingly difficult(read effectively impossible) to find. So if you're fine with more main stream stuff then you can pretty much just walk to the safe way and grab a bottle of patron or jack daniels from the shelf anytime before 2am and have yourself some booze. If you a little more discerning or wanted to try something interesting and somewhat rare there are fewer options available than last year and the cost is going to be 20% and some change higher than marked.
There is a local liquor store that was bought by a guy but it was still closed last I saw. The stores did not come with leases and many of them are around shopping centers which means the shopping centers are now making sure they don't have to compete with a dedicated liquor store. I'm not sure if the one in Redmond has opened up but the story I read said that the guy who was able to buy three of the stores in redmond, kirkland, and issaquah hadn't been able to find a lease for at least two of his stores. The one in issaquah was in a shopping center owned by QFC and they didn't want the competition. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of zoned commercial areas around the area that he's been assigned and so that one is for sure held up(but that won't really impact redmond). The other two stores were up in the air last I saw. If we're really lucky, he'll be able to open the Redmond store which is about 3 blocks from the hotel I think. It's really close by and the selection should be much much better if it's opened. Still, remember that %20 tax and the volume tax that won't be on the sticker price.
Also, wine in any store. It's been that way forever. Wine stores have better selection and often better prices. There is a decent one in the mall at the other end and Wine World not to far away that has my favorite chocolate port.
And of course beer anywhere, but if you are into beer, please, please, please, walk the few blocks to malt and vine and give Doug your business. They are great bunch and right next door are super good gyros. Doug has... well, lets just say his selection is measured in refrigerators. About 20-30 selection per fridge. I count at least 12 in my head. Including one full of mead and easy drinking white wines. Some ports and wines as well. And a plethora of taps with local and interesting brews. If they have it, Black Raven's Tamerlane Brown and Trickster IPA are fantastic and local. They almost always have the IPA, but I prefer the Tamerlane or scotch ale(which is pretty rare for them). Also, you can grab a growler of any of those at Black Raven though that's a little harder to find and probably requires a car. =)

There's a private store in Kirkland around 85th St and 128th Ave that has a decent selection. The old guy who runs it is really nice too. When the state stores were still open I'd still go to his store, though it was further, because he nicer than the state store people. I can't be sure on everything, but his prices seemed cheaper than the grocery store prices.

Well, good news except for that extra 20% tax tacked on to every bottle...you could always make a pit stop in Idaho on your way over.

Yeah we don't have a state income tax so we pay through consumption taxes mostly. Food isn't taxed for the most part but alcohol and cigarettes and processed foods like soda and candy and furniture and stuff is how the state paysa for stuff. Good news though, the old state store is open again. so very good selection there. A bit more spendy than I'm used to but that's the way of things. Also I will post malt and vine pictures soon. =)
Would pick something up if could drive.. but am flying in from Alabama.
If all that has been stated is true (and many thanks for the responses! I'll buy first round!)
Then after a quick jaunt around the town, hope to be bringing a cooler of goodies/snacks/booze along with to the con!
Edit: :) to the Growlers! Harkens back to my youth... could never leave without two. One for the journey home and the other to enjoy when you get there!

OK ... so for the non-typical vein, is Appleton Rum hard to find (12 year preferred ... though the 21 year is very nice, but pricey)?
I'm pretty sure the liquor store that's very close by to the hotel has Appleton Estate Reserve. Not sure about the others. I loved the rum at one point and then had a little too much one new years and I've not really been able stand any rum since. Including Kraken. I don't remember seeing the black label there recently but I know they are going to compete, largely, based on selection but they are currently coasting on the old stores reserves and getting a feel for what sells.

Ok so the hotel's official policy is "outside alcohol in meeting spaces and public spaces is strictly prohibited" so keep the homebrew in your hotel room (or on the DL).
