This works on Ranged attacks right?

Deadly Stroke (Combat)
With a well-placed strike, you can bring a swift and painful end to most foes.

Prerequisites: Dazzling Display, Greater Weapon Focus, Shatter Defenses, Weapon Focus, proficiency with the selected weapon, base attack bonus +11.

Benefit: As a standard action, make a single attack with the weapon for which you have Greater Weapon Focus against a stunned or flat-footed opponent. If you hit, you deal double the normal damage and the target takes 1 point of Constitution bleed (see Conditions). The additional damage and bleed is not multiplied on a critical hit.

Also, as an example, with a critical hit during the deadly stroke does the math work like this, assuming [1d8 + 1 19-20 X2 (from a +1 longsword]:

Roll (1d8 + 1) TWICE for deadly stroke, then add another 1d8 + 1 roll ONCE for the critical hit, totaling: 3d8 +3 damage?

Seems correct.

Best I could come up with till level 12 is Mysterious Stranger 1, Weapon Master Fighter 11.

14 DEX
17 CHA base + 2 Half Orc Racial + 6 headband +3 level bonuses = 28 CHA

Weapon Focus, Weapon Spec, Greater Weapon Focus, Dazzling Display, Shatter Defenses, Deadly Stroke : (all with Musket)

Deadly Aim, Moon light Stalker.

+3 Musket, Gloves of Dueling. Use a grit point for Focused Aim.

Something like +22 to hit with 1d12 + 29 damage. Average 35.5 doubled is 71 damage.

Assuming someone else can set the target up with Stunned/Flat-footed, or you act first in the surprise round.

Seems pretty weak. Anyone else can get better with a ranged attack? Cap it at level 12.

EDIT: just thought of this:

Quote:

Musket, Double-Barreled

This musket has two parallel barrels; each barrel can be shot independently as a separate action, or both can be fired at once as the same attack.

If both barrels are fired at once, they must both target the same creature or object, and the gun becomes wildly inaccurate, taking a –4 penalty on each shot. Each barrel of a double-barreled musket uses either a bullet and a single dose of black powder or an alchemical cartridge as ammunition.

If you could fire both barrels at once per RAW with the double-barreled musket with the deadly stroke you'd be in business.

71 damage isn't an awful lot at 12th level, but if you are musket sniping, you are probably doing that from 200 feet away. That means you can Stealth snipe at a net +0 (-20 Stealth for sniping, -20 Perception at 200 feet). Take your shot and wait for the enemy to die from Con bleed as you sit in your hide site. Or keep sniping. Ranged Deadly Stroke isn't a belt-buckle-knife-fight kind of tactic.
