Are there any items or non-feats/traits that add to initiative? i'm curious b/c i'm having a hard time fitting improved init into my monk/ninja build. i have defensive combat training instead to jack my CMD up to silly levels. i already have reactionary. just curious

I like high init, but for a monk/rogue i figure having a really high CMD will do me more good than a +4 init. for a caster it'd be improved init, hands down, but i'm not sure for this character. so i'll try and get some other bonuses from elsewhere. hmm maybe i could get an item custom made that isnt an ion stone.

I read it somewhere else on these forums, but winning initiative is like winning a coins toss during a sporting event. You can always defer if it plays into your strategy.
However, if you are feat starved, the only items are the ones BBT and I mentioned, so yeah, you do not really have many options.

I don't know of too many items that do that, but you can dip in wizard for one level and take familiar as your arcane bond and select Compsognathus to gain +4.
Also if you go that route, choose divination as your arcane school to gain the Forewarned supernatural ability. It gives you an initiative bonus based on half your wizard lv, min +1.

also, a wand of anticipate peril, made at fifth caster level would work well. five mins of one use +5 init for not that much money. use it when you think you'll find trouble, and you should get 40-50 battles of +5 init out of it.
