When to apply Spell Resistance

Rules Questions

In the glossary under Spell resistance/effect spells it says:

glossary wrote:
Sometimes, however, spell resistance applies to effect spells, usually to those that act upon a creature more or less directly, such as web.

But the web spell says no Spell Resistance.

Does this mean that the GM will have to rule whether or not a spell acts directly or indirectly from case to case to determine whether spell resistance applies?

Spells such as Glitterdust, Grease or Create Pit might end up directly acting upon a creature with spell resistance.

Spell resistance only applies to spells that say "SR: Yes". The "such as web" part of that sentence is wrong.
