So im working on a hilarious concept here.
a dwarf monk, designed to pretty much be the comic relief character, my group is too damn serious.
I have never considered playing a monk, but I felt like trying something new, from what I can tell, monks need a plethora of stats and I have no idea what to do with it.
Limited to core rule book, ultimate magic, ultimate combat, and apg.
20 point buy, level 8.
Appreciate the help!

Ah, man if you had access to faiths of purity, I would recommend that you take the Drunken brawler feat (Gives temporary HP based on level and bonuses to fort and will at the expense of reflex everytime you drink a tankard of alcohol).
Then go for the drunken master PRC (extra ki points when you drink alcohol) and take the swift drinker feat (requires 18 con), which allows you to drink a tankard as a swift action.
Then basically play a drunken juggernaut (maybe take monk of the sacred mountain)that has a refillable 8 temporary HP per turn.
Stats I would either go for Str / Wis (based on whether you go for the regular Monk or a Sensei monk) first and then boost con.

I recently came up with quite a fun, unique build with the help of some of the board members here.
Take Drunken Master, Qinggong Monk, and Kensai. Start off with 16 Con. (18 with Racial Mod), and as high a Wisdom as you feel comfortable with, with the rest of the points being irrelevant (though dumping Int. for a little extra Dex. or Strength would probably be worth your while).
Having 18 Con. is crucial for taking the Fast Drinker feat at level 3, which means that, as a swift action, you can add 1 Ki to your pool, which is basically 1 free Ki per turn as long as you have booze. Use Qinggong to get access to really cool spell-like abilities, use Kensai to give yourself a decent attack bonus, as well as some party support.
Once you get to level 5, ask your DM about the Flask of Endless Sake, a magical item that costs 4k gold, but contains limitless booze. This allows you to, at level 5, gain 2 Ki points per round, enough to spam any damage dealing spell-like abilities you may possess, or give yourself AC bonuses, or skill bonuses, or... well, you get the idea at this point.

do a maneuver master monk that focuses on dirty tricks then run around the battlefield pulling peopls pants down and throwing dirt in there eyes.
I'm going to literally get thrown out of my class now. I can't stop laughing.
I'll ask him about making a drunken brawler, if its in a source book he is generally ok with it. He just doesn't like anything 3rd party or dragon magazine stuff.
Thanks for the guides will look into these when i stop laughing.
