I once came up with a better rocket than the LH2/LO2 rockets we have now. In the '60s, there was a project called NERVA, which researched the possibility of using nuclear reactors to heat water to high-pressure steam for rocket exhaust. The project was cancelled because the water would cause vibrations in the fuel rods that would break little pieces of Uranium off. The pieces would then leave the rocket in the steam, making the exhaust dangerously radioactive.
So I thought, if you could use a heat exchanger/radiator to heat the water indirectly, you'd still have a steam rocket with next to no radiation. This is the Nuclear Thermal Transfer Rocket, or NTTR. But it'll never fly. No-one wants reactors in space.
Still bored.

Welcome to the new folks, may your stay here be enlightening, tranquil, and educational, and may we in turn learn from the life experiences that are brought here.
John: There was also the Dyson Proposal (Yes, the same Dyson that made that one vacuum cleaner) to use decommisioned nukes to *directly* drive a vessel Orion to a fraction of c. Material sciences weren't (and aren't) developed to the point to handle that sort of thermal extreme (yet) but it was along similar lines.
Micro-thermal nuclear reactions in some space vessels now, from several nations. Turns out when one doesn't have to fight gravity, the amount of juice one needs reduces SIGNIFICANTLY.
Only drawback: Gravity wells can be kinda bad.

For anyone who is wondering, Sephora is not only trans inclusive, they have classes for non-binary and trans women and their allies to learn makeup and it's free!
It's called "CLASSES FOR CONFIDENCE: BOLD BEAUTY FOR THE TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY" you can find it at the bottom of the page here. It's not available in all areas, but it looks like they really are trying to do the opposite of what I see other companies do. They are trying to bring in business by catering to people!
Yes. I signed up for the one in Tacoma on 6/5.

after my poor experiences with my moms ignorance of male hygiene and style needs during puberty especially, I have wondered if I should take such classes in case I have a daughter.

There are men who learn how to apply makeup and style hair just so they can help their daughters. The worst that can happen is that you will be able to help your friends with tips if they need it.

Neither am I. Woke up this morning feeling somewhat well, with no nausea at all. No tumor related headaches, either. Meaning that the next headache will hit twice as hard.

Had a great time at the NEA LGBTQ conference at Vegas this last weekend. Over 185 educators from around the nation, as far as Alaska and American Educators from Germany and the UK attended.
Photo of attendees
Got to interact with Debi Jackson Photo of Debi with me. She is such an amazing advocate for her TG daughter and for TG rights and care. I love her strength!!

I could use LOTS. My dog, Duke, who we acquired from the local shelter back in September 2015, died from a stroke (or at least had a massive seizure) and died in my room. This was after I had tried and successfully comforted him due to his fear of thunder storms (which were kind of bad.) So now...I'm pretty heart broken.

This looks interesting
Dream Apart
Dream Askew and Dream Apart are "no-dice, no masters" RPGs where players collaborate to tell stories together without dice or dungeon masters: Dream Askew uses the system to create campaigns in "a queer enclave enduring the collapse of civilization" and Dream Apart is set in "a Jewish shtetl in a fantastical-historical Eastern Europe."

I didn't go but I did watch the Twitch Stream of the Banquet.
Also today was good for the fact I got in ONE more session of Giantslayer before our party paladin goes off to spend the summer with his biological father and that side of the family...and thus Giantslayer goes on hiatus.
Also thank you Selene.
