Just a second…
How does "without any real explanation or evidence of why you are correct" turn into "because I did not expand on my post by writing a thesis paper"?
I believed I was prompted to provide in depth analysis. Lets simply use the definitions I posted. Statesman or Politician?

Hmm interesting north, south, Ionian or Agean?
I have a lot of friends who are Australians of Greek (Hellenic) descent. They tend to lean further left of me, but they are of an older generation and their parents left just after WWII during the political upheaval of that period.
South gamer buddy. I have family in Melbourne. I do not know their politics. If you ever wish to learn about that period of Greek history I suggest watching "Eleni". Heart breaking.
Later!

From the peloponnesus.
Melbourne is the second largest Greek city in the world.
I kind of understand your politics - I disagree totally of course.

Yes.
Since I don't know you at all I'm not sure how we are different / similiar in political ideology. Your welcome to share your thoughts off the board if you wish.
I did not know that it was the 2nd largest Greek city! That is a huge population! Wish we played Rugby in Chicago.

Like I said people, WE NEED A STATEMAN NOT A POLITICIAN.
Can we agree on that?
There's nothing evil about being a Politician. It's a prerequisite to get things done. A Statesman is an effective Politician, or at least one who is actually working more on getting things done than sabotaging someone else.
The problem however is not one President or another, it's the polarisation of National Politics period. There was a time where Democrats and Republicans regularly disagreed with each other, argued with each other, but when push got to shove, knuckled down and got things done, even if it was a compromise that neither was totally happy with.
The problem is that both parties, especially the Republican party have had thier centers replaced by elements that are waving idelogical purity like a banner and are simply not interested in one iota of compromise.
The problem is not that Washington is full of politicians.
The problem is that Washington has become full of demagogues and lobbyist money.

In this world - the REAL world - Bush was a bully and a man of limited intellect, who never questioned his bad decisions, and consequently never learned from his mistakes. Constitutional power was exceeded, and bad decisions pushed through, through a constant mantra of fear and hatred.
Exactly. Just like the National Defense Authorization Act, authorization of drone strikes on American citizens, etc. In the real world, Obama took the cue from Bush, realized that constitutional power could be exceeded with impunity, and compounded his predecessor's unprecedented power-grab instead of reversing it.

1.The economy, race relations, foreign affairs just to name a few have seriously gotten worse under his watch.
2.People are talking about topics that distract us from the real problems facing our nation.
3.President Obama in my opinion cares more about his re-election than doing the right thing for the USA.
4.Where are you Mr. President? We need a statesman NOT a politician.
Signed,
A first generation American citizen.
1. Can you explain how? I don't watch the news.
2. What people specifically? What topics? What are the real problems we face?
3. What makes you say that? What will he do after the election that will be wrong for the USA?
4. What is the difference you see between a statesman and a politician?

Speaking as an outsider, i thought that both Obama and McCann were far betterand more competant candidates than GWBush ever was....(although i thank god palin didnt get in.)
At the end of the day, the truth is that politicians are only human...and regardless of what their PR campaigns suggest they're not superhuman, qnd rarely have a better idea of how to solve the worlds problems than joe public.
And of course the problem with the american presidency is that an american keeps being elected :-p ( although Donald Trump might disagree with that...)
It could be worse, though...in the UK we've got David Cameron (and Miliband, the head of the opposition is no better)
And worst of all Italy have got BungaBunga Bellosconi !
