Fey vs. Infernal Bloodline, Am I Missing Something?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Everything I have read says Fey and Infernal are basically equal in Arcane Power but the Fey add +2 to Compulsion spells, and Infernal gets +2 in Charm. It seems to me the Fey get more spells that are affected by there +2 than Infernal. Is the few Charm spells really that much better than the dozens of Compulsion spells?

The reason so many people say they're the same in power is because they don't look at the number of spells under both Compulsion and Charm like you have. Even still it's more a matter of opinion and how you intend to play the character, from a pure "balance" point of view it is indeed debatable, but not to the point that I feel it's even worth doing, ha ha. Each has their merits, just play what you'd prefer.

There are more factors to consider here than sheer number of spells. A bonus to one spell you cast a lot can be worth more than a bonus to a bunch of spells you don't cast very often. Or, since sorcerers have a limited selection of spells, using fewer of them on Bloodline-bonus spells.

People say Infernal is equal to Fey?!!!

Fey is one of the best bloodlines. The save DC boost affects more and stronger spells, and basically all of the bloodline arcana are more powerful, too. Bonus feats list is also solid. Bonus spells are nice and include some stuff from outside the sorc spell list, starting right away w/ Entangle.
