Vampirism?

Rules Questions

As per the bestiary, any living creature can become a vampire. Does this include outsiders?

Thanks.

Liberty's Edge

Yes.

Really? Outsiders can be vampires? So, a succubus vampire is totally legal?? *mind blown*

Fitting target for Animate Thread.

And yes, yes it is. Epic Meepo put one (and a Spawn version) on the SRD, actually, if you wanna see what one looks like stat-wise (though templates are pretty straightforward).

Ha, yeah I almost didn't want to post, but there was no discussion or anything just a simple "Yes" and I was like "Wait, what?" so I felt I just had to clarify because the 3.x rules it was humanoids and fey only (and you could only turn your own race or some such weird rule)

Yeah, it just says one living creature with 5+ HD now. With a thing that says they are USUALLY humanoids, Monstrous Humanoids, or Fey, but not a limiter.

This still applies.

The Create Spawn ability (which includes the ability to create fully fledged vampires) is limited to creatures of your own base type.
So a bit broader than just race, and a vampire tiefling could make succubi vampires.

EDIT: But of course it requires there to be an outsider vampire in the first place...

Gotcha covered.

Some demon lords were vampiric succubus, the demon lord Zura was a azlanti cannibal who became a succubus vampire.

You can try making animal vampires, but they often end up a bit . . . confused.

In a different game I played, there was a monster called a Vampire Mosquito. It wasn't truly a vampire, but rather a regular mosquito that fed on a vampire. In the Pathfinder system, that'd likely be a normal living vermin type (not undead) creature with Negative Energy Affinity a few other fitting abilities.

Wow. I can honestly say that my sorceress is more charismatic than a vampiric succubus! lol! :D

I'm sure that somewhere I saw an adventure that had a Vampire Aboleth, just to show some of the silliness possible.

There is NOTHING silly about a vampiric aboleth!

Having been involved in a fight against one of those, I can say that Ravingdork speaks truth on this matter.

Sovereign Court

So an aasimar with Scion of Humanity could spread the plague to the high heavens?

That actually wouldn't be a bad BBEG overarching plot. And an excuse to allow the group to fight angels etc. (just vampire angels)

Are we rezzing all the vampiers tonigth?

One of my favorite blood-eating monsters from 20th century literature is a plant-like creature:
