p. 36 Behemoth, the text (3rd paragraph, 2nd column) mentions that behemoths "suffer a single flaw by which it might be slain, a chink in its immortality". Is this a reference to the vulnerability to wishes and miracles? When I read it, I though each behemoth type would have a specific weakness, not just the blanket behemoth type weakness to wishes and miracles that was the only way to deactivate regeneration.

Not sure if this is errata or not, but both of these have the Snatch feat. While they do qualify for it, I was under the impression that since the feat simply added the grab special ability, that baseline monsters didn't have it, but it was a feat to allow advancing monsters that didn't already have grab, and to give it to them (in particular, dragons).

Regardless, the feat's not applied to their stat blocks in the same way. The Tempest Behemoth does not have "plus grab" after it's bite or talon attacks, nor does it have "(+61 grapple)" after its CMB. The Thunder Behemoth does have "plus grab" after its bite damage, and does have "(+53 grapple)" after its CMB.


Baku Page 31

Not sure if this is a mistake or not the Baku has immunity to mind-affecting effects and sleep.

Looks like someone already beat me on the Thalassic behemoth regeneration(fire) mistake.

This is not a mistake per say but the Unfettered Eidolon has no info on how to determine it's CR.

Look at the 4th sentence under the Evolution Points header.


I have never seen a sleep effect that isn't a mind-affecting effect that is why.

I see the line now but it isn't very useful set up when they could of had a simple template to modify an existing eidolon from a character's sheet or just skip this guy for a more useful citter ot two.

This is nitpicking, but in the sidebar on Ahriman on page 82, his alignment is never listed. As an entity that grants divine spells, this is necessary for the "one-step" rule regarding the alignment of divine spellcasters who worship Ahriman. (He's clearly intended to be Neutral Evil, but it's not actually stated in the text itself.)

true, it has good flight maneuverability for +4 but it is huge which is -4.

I guess I should modify my code to show all mods.

There are no racial mods for this creature in B3. Sometimes they don't list the racial mods in the printed stat block that are kept in the "behind the scenes document", just my way of making a quick fix suggestion.

That was an oversight on my (the author's) part. I'd certainly push for taking the torpor ability away from an awakened demilich :)


Shouldn't the Akvan Div have Spell resistance? He's their biggest dude and the only one without it.


The Imperial Dragons are missing entries for their breath weapons. The damage their breath weapon deals is shown, but we don't know what they are breathing (the Underworld dragon, for instance, does fire damage, but it also has magma-related abilities; is it breathing lava? Does the Sky Dragon breath lightning, or stormclouds?) The only one we know is the Sea Dragon, and that's only secondhand from another ability entry.

Thematic details like that are very important to help establish the 'feel' of a monster.


p. 138 Graveknight

This is actually more than just an issue of thematic details. In particular, with the Forest Imperial Dragon, which does piercing damage, depending on what the breath weapon consists of, some creatures might have resistances to it. (Is is breathing sharp shards of stone? Giant wooden splinters? - some rare creatures or class abilities might have resistances to wood or stone that would apply.)

I don't know if this was a mistake, or if they are just meant to be so alien that their alignment can't really be described as "evil", but the Zoog don't look Chaotic Neutral at all.

They are described as spiteful, nasty, enjoying the flesh of other sentient beings, base and vicious, as attacking and eating intruders or using them as living sacrifices to deities described as "debased". They only become familiars for depraved spellcasters.

This overall does not look anything like CN. Chaotic Evil, perhaps, but that doesn't seem Neutral.
