I hold an Associate of Fine Arts in Music Performance (classical guitar) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in the study of abnormal behavior in adults and children. I'm also licensed to broker real estate transactions in North Carolina.
That is a wide variety of skills.

Where have you been all my life? I'm a classical guitarist with poor sight reading skills, recently started on antidepressants, and am sick of renting.
I bow to you, sensei.

Playing a hard sci-fi game with that group would either be really funny -- or totally impossible. :P

Well, two out of three ain't bad - my sight reading is for crap, too. I've always been more of a by-ear player, as I started with bluegrass and rock and roll before pursuing music in an academic environment.

I haven't sold homes full time since 2009, when I got out of a VERY abusive brokerage company that worked me to death, gave me terrible leads, and completely neglected my clients' listings after I left (which the broker-in-charge refused to release to me upon my severance from the company). I still make some extra dough on referral business, however, and without going into specifics, it's probably enough to cover my mortgage for two or three months out of the year.
I live in the RDU triangle area of eastern NC, and the market isn't all that bad here - the main problem is that homeowners retained very inflated opinions of the value of their homes even after the bubble burst, as my wife and I discovered when we bought our first house this summer. We got a good deal in the end, but it took two or three tries at negotiating with highly unreasonable sellers before we found one with a pragmatic outlook on their home's value.

Recently after too many beers and too long of a game session, one of my RPG buddies asked everyone what their class would be if they were a Pathfinder character. I chose bard, naturally. =D

As a former realtor I would like to day for the record it's the same issue in Atlanta, GA.
"Well, Mrs Seller, you may have bought your homr for 500K, but not it's worth 250K. It would be a waste of your time and mine to list it for 500K."
The problem being that someone is unscrupulous or desperate enough to take the listing despite the massive waste of time it will turn out to be. After having their house listed for 2 years that seller is just going to rent it until the market turns around.
Edit: for the record sellers always think that their house is exempt from the market value because it's "unique" or "the best" for one reason or another. I assure you it's not.

My wife has kept an eye on the other house via Trulia out of spite, and seven months later, that seller has only dropped his list price to $334,000. I guess if you have the time and money to weather a bad market, there's no reason not to, but I really don't see him getting anywhere near that figure for that home anytime in the near future.

HS diploma
AS Mathematics
BA Chemistry in a few months (finally!)
CTEC certification in a few monthslooking into possibility of law school in the future
In the states? Take a very very serious look at the job prospects and the cost of attending law school. I loved law school, but if I had had to pay US tuition....

I give all my potential players a bank of tests on Math, Science, and Engineering. If they don't have an appropriate GPA for an advanced degree from a recognized school, they have to show constructive life experience.
Yeah, getting into the campaign is tough, but it makes for great adventures.

High school and some college. Several computer certifications that expired 12 years ago. I am planning on retaking the A+ certification and then going for the CCNA certification. I eventually want to go back to school and get a BS in one of the science fields, either Math, Physics, or Biochemistry then attempt to work my way up from there. Right now it is more a matter of getting out of debt and keeping my five kittens from destroying the world. ~grins~

This is either good satire or bad elitism. Either way, I heartily approve.

FYI A+ used to be permanent, so if you took it long enough ago, you're still certified.

BS, Geology
MS, Hydrogeology
PG (licensed professional geoscientist)
(Now expired) Secondary Earth & Space Sciences teaching certificate
Wait...are you serious? My mom worked hydro for Wisconsin DATCP for years, and did groundwater remediation for the big paper mills before that. Pretty cool :)
She went back and got her PhD in Paleolimnology, and now she is unemployed :(As for me, I have an AA in Recording and Music Technology. I'm working on a second AA, concurrently gaining a Journalism certificate, then rolling that into a BA. Trying to decide at the moment between education and going right into teaching, or history/economics then going back for certification. I'd like to take a year or two and get a TESL to teach overseas somewhere before committing to a career in secondary education.
Pretty much everyone I know has a degree (or 3) and is not working in their desired field. It's frustrating. My friend Bryan has a MS in Biochemistry and works in the banking industry, for example.
