Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Kae, I will have Ry continue this conversation, but I cannot make the posting until tonight my time. I have my niece Alison with me all day and we're going to the zoo.

out until Sunday probably due.to bro in law graduating. Please npc in meantime. Thanks!

To all -

short work for all -

I need your "sheets" for the baronies. I need how they'll look for end of the month of Desna - so we can go about "rolling" circumstances for each month, and - at the end of the year - the full stats and results of what you earned and received by the end of the year.

"Sheets" would include -

1. What you spent/built in Desna
2. Size of property
3. Council Stats - if any

4. Then we make each roll for each month - and decide what you do.

Remember - this will also have to happen for Saravale.

Further - the objective of both sets of rolls and advances is that by the end of the year you'll be able to see what new gear/weapons/magical equipment you can buy and use.

Speaking of which - due to a listing of gear/stats that I've been reading over via new sheets of cohorts - I am now making a decision on available gear.

As of now - I'm eliminating Muleback Cords from available equipment.

You are free to sell them if you have any for the book value of the gear.

Please let me know if you have any questions - and when I can see your sheets for your baronies. Thank you!

Ry, before you left for the weekend, Ariarh interrupted Kae and brought up clari and a conversation that needed be had...

Want to have that conversation before we continue too far? We caa toss it in spoilers on the main board so it's not taking too much space and interrupting. But kae don't know why he in trouble, and the esults from that convo may affect his future actions...

Here was Kae's last contribution to that
** spoiler omitted **

She felt uncomfortable at having to interrupt the intimacy between Kae and the Yuan-ti female, Kemat.

Tilting her head slightly and watching him with shadowed sapphire eyes, she wonders at Kae's edginess and his apprehension regarding Clari's supposed disclosures.

Motioning for Kae to follow her so she could put a little distance between them and any who would listen, in lowered voice she responds, "Asking about Clari is only logical, big brother, as she walked away with you earlier this night and I have not seen her or you since. I find you with the Yuan-ti female acting rather familiar and Clari unheard and unseen since our arrival. I wanted to call the party together to discuss Council business, namely what will happen to all the folk we rescued. And, I would never begrudge you your private time, her gaze tactfully flicking to Kemat, but this familiarity is not seemly. You were her liberator and now it would look to some as though you were enjoying the spoils of war so to speak ... I do not think it wise, brother, not now. You know nothing of these creatures, nothing of the Yuan-ti aside from the fact they switched sides from evil to good most readily. A dalliance with one of their females is not a good use of your time at present." Ariarh sighs and runs a hand across her forehead. "You deserve some ... amusement ... love, if you so choose it. But giving into Kemat's allurement? I would ask that you consider it deeply before committing yourself there. The price may be higher than you are willing to pay." She wondered if Kae's reaction was natural to the Yuan-ti female or whether Kemat had used her rather interesting skill set to lure him in ... First, Anaitis and her mind magic on Brett and now Kemat and Kae ... The Yuan-ti required further observation, it seemed.

Touching his arm in an abstract, concerned fashion,

"In regard to Clari, she has not spoken out of turn and disclosed any history between you. Aye, she was most adamant in her attempts to dis-sway Anuk-su from believing and referring to you as siblings, but that is all. I do not mean to pry, brother, but is there more? And this history you share, will it affect your working relationship now? I ask as leader who would foresee and forestall a problem and not as some dull, mischievous taleteller."

Should we move the in-game posting to the other thread? or is it all good here.

Conversation:

Kae relaxes visibly "Clari and I have an understanding, regarding our history. She left home when it was revealed to her that my father was the one that slaughtered her family. Clari was reasonably upset. I on the other hand did not understand the source of her ire. I didn't know that she now saw me as the spawn of the source of all her pain and anguish. So I was hurt when she left. I learned the truth later, and understood her feelings of disgust, but she seems to have out-grown that. And we have an understanding in relation to my father as well, so there is nothing to be concern yourself with there." This is certainly a grim sort of understanding that the two have. Some common goal, but Kae has been focused on the kingdom, so there does not look to be an immediate danger there. But Kae's face is dark when he speaks of his father, and memory of is mother clearly pains him.

Kae changes his tone, shaking of the brooding mist that seemed to have settled on him. He is mildly embarrassed as he speaks now, "There were few elves back home that were ever near my age when I was younger, and mercenaries like me didn't Romance, and i wan never inclined to buy a ladies affection. It was no secret that violence of the work was more satisfying to me, so i was given a wide berth." there is a slight grimmace as Kae thinks back just a year ago to the monster the saw himself as. The monster he liked being. Times change... "Anyway, I am rather unused to women such as Kemat, unless they are attempting to sell something."

Looking around, "I have not seen Clari since i spoke to her. I believe she may have been looking for Shaezon. She has always been rather unsociable, part of why I think we found each other interesting... Regardless, she may have gone to sleep, or is off on her own." We can either look for her to talk, or not. The child seems to have gone even madder since she left, almost seems to be having conversations in her mind with nobody in particular. Although Kae is not someone to talk, as he has had his own bouts with madness that he's lost.

Great posting both of you! Keep it up – this is what social RP is all about.

However – a small request – let’s tap it back to the main thread so we all know what’s going on.

Meanwhile – Kae – you’ve already been pretty busy looking for “new hires” in the form of some of the liberated folk. Is there any you would suggest to Ry, Brett or Ras? Jaxx and Rhett are eager to work with you – but they’re pretty sociable – and will likely go with whoever wants them. Not saying you can’t have them – just curious to know if you wouldn’t mind sharing. In either case – no pressure.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

New Buildings –

Embassy: This is a building built on your land. It costs you nothing – your expense from building the embassy on your allies land. As such – they are responsible for erecting the embassy on your land, while you on theirs. Even so – they require at least one square in your district – and all other requirement must be met.

Bonuses: +1 Stability; Trade agreement. Trade agreement and all contractual clauses must be created before the creation of the embassy.

Cost: 10 BP – must be adjacent to a house when you build it on their land. When they build it on YOUR land - you must grant them a square next to a house.

Bathhouse: This is a building that was constructed – and created in the far east. It is fashionable as a place where a person may receive massage, mild healing, and a place to relax.

Bonuses: +1 Stability, +1 Loyalty, -1 to unrest. The building makes your citizens happy, and eager to enjoy themselves.

Cost: 8 BP – may be built anywhere.

Senet House: This “house” is actually a place where people gather to play the game called “Senet” – a game brought north from Osiriani and Khatepesh. Not unlike a small casino or bar – a Senet House is a place where citizens come to drink cold beer, and play the game of chance Senet – sometimes also playing other minor games of chance. Often exotic tobacco is smoked, sometimes Pesh – but not necessarily. Generally – Senet Houses are like “pool halls” of the modern world. They can be a fun place for entertainment – or very seedy – depending on the cliental.

Bonuses: +2 Loyalty, +2 Economy, +2 Unrest. City base value +250 GP. A fun place – good for money making ventures and keeping people loyal to you over cold mugs of beer – but not always a safe place.

Cost: 6 BP – can be built anywhere.

Zen Garden: Another innovation from the East – the “Zen Garden” is like a shrine or park – but it allows the citizens the opportunity to think deep thoughts without distraction – or issues of dogma.

Bonuses: +1 Loyalty, -2 Unrest. A place that centers the mind, and quiets the stress of the community.

Cost: 6 BP – can be built anywhere. Requires – Library.

Um, via email you said the Embassy cost 8 GP and so that's what I used when budgeting the construction costs. Please clarify.

Apologies - you are correct. Embassy: Cost - 8 BP is correct - my bad.

Kobold Problem!

What the heck is Magic vulnerability -5 necromantic???
Is that -5 to saves vs Necro spells?
is it 5 extra damage?
The core trait: Vulnerability is damage and a half: so if a necro spell does 8 damage, the character takes 12 total.

I'm not sure what -5 means

that is all

Any time a Kobold has to make a saving through for any spell, spell like ability, Supernatural Ability - etcetera - if the magical power/spell that is used against them is "Necromatic" - that means that their DC just went up by 5.

In other words - if they have to save against a caster - and their Willpower Save should be normally a 12 - because he is casting a spell with the Necromantic subtype, their Willpower save is a 17 - i.e. - +5 to the DC for saves against Nercomantic Spells.

It does not effect damage, only their chance to resist damage via a Saving Throw. They are not good when defending against attacks via Nercomancy.

However - to offset this - they have a bonus to all saving throws when they try to resists spells that use "fire" to damage them.

So if they needed to make a Fortitude Save - or a Reflex save against a fireball - their chances of success improved, because any spell that uses a fire based attack is easier for them to resist.

Well as it seems while I was away all of the notable NPC's have been chosen are there any suitable left? Apparently all of the Gold Kobolds are going to Ariarh's barony is that correct?

imimrtl wrote:

1. Not all the notable NPC's have been chosen - only some of them. There are many that have not been chosen - and can be - should anyone decide to approach them and talk to them.

Also - there are many "free slots" - so far the gang seems to want to recruit pre-made characters. Naturally they can have the advantage of building characters from scratch, although they will be only level 1 only.

However - with so many potentials up there, many of them have decided that they want to recruit higher level characters, who have already been pre-made.

But it should be noted that no - not all of them have been chosen.

2. That is not correct - at the least Taedo-san is going with Kae - and possibly others may be going with him, too. And Brett may recruit one - or not, he's not sure. Ry asked Akiko and also recently asked Satoru to ally with her.

Although Satoru has formally pledged his line out of formality - that is yet to be determined by Ariarh - if she will accept his line. Before she chose him, he made a humble request to let his folk mingle with the citizens in general - the more they diversify - the more useful they will be as a whole to their own folk. He said as much - and though Ariarh may order him and all his line to swear fealty to her seed until death - somehow that doesn't seem like Ariarh's style to me - and I doubt it will happen.

So - you are free to look around for a person to "recruit" - (i.e. give me a run-down on the class type you're looking for - and I shall try to build one like that for you - but that is on my terms, and it may not be quite what you're looking for if you built it yourself on level 1 up - of course - if you did that - he player would only be on level 1).

That said - please let me know if you have any other questions, and I look forward to reading your review on the notes soon.

Ok fair enough. Currently I am looking for a Cleric or Oracle for High Priest. I am looking for someone who could potentially fill the role of Diplomat and Councilor as well.

I'll see what I can do - they won't be too high - but they will be - not bad.

Hmm... High priest and Diplomat, eh? We'll see what we can do... you realize that you could be the Diplomat quite easily... ;)

FYI - for the future - toss these discussion threads up on your province thread; if you don't mind. Thank you!

So we gotta deal with the yuan-ti in our city and see what happens there.

We also need to get info on what went down with the spider-cave with mak and the boys

The refugees that dain was talking about are just the guys we rescued, or are there more in the city now that arrived while we were gone?

Sorry but I'm prolly leaving that to you and ry

Sent an email with my comments on the new races to Dain.

Female Changeling - Osirion Cleric 4/Oracle 3

Dain, I want to organise something for Isani. She has no province but she will be the High Priestess of Saravale. It would be nice to have her own page/board to work out some storylines with various members of the Council, such as Ariarh and Arasmes.

Plus, does Isani accrue any bp? The reason I ask is that she will want to erect a shrine to Sarenrae in Saravale (a shrine costs 8 bp) and she has some gold of her own (a little over 2000) but not enough to do this. Thanks.

I think the best thing to do is to petition the council for annexing some territory within Saravale.

This will grant Isani a more protected base within Saravale to help off-set some of the more seedy parts of it.

It will not be as powerful as a formal barony - but it will give Isani some structure - and it will give you the chance to have some actual voice in the capital, rather then being focused in just the baronies.

Of course - she could do the same thing in your barony as well; as Satoru did - but we shall see what you think at this time.

Isani will have BP - yes; but not nearly on the same scale as the others.

For now she would start with 10 - as all starting characters do - and her BP will go up via posting alone, not on completing quests.

To the others: Guys - weigh in here - what do you all think about this? This is the discussion thread - let me know - let's "Discuss"!

I'm fine with it. (I know...try and contain yourselves at my loquaciousness.)

*LOL* Thanks, Ras. ;)

Hey gang - not that it matters too much to you all - but apparently Pathfinder is putting together an online MMO game using Pathfinder rules and set in The River Kingdoms to start - and expanding all over the world.

If this works the way I hope - we might actually get an online campaign together once they hit the Alpha Test - meanwhile - check out the link for full details...

Full Details

I have already donated $5 to the cause, just to get my name out there. I'm pretty excited - let me know what you guys think!

Playing the game with my friends over the 'Net would be pretty sweet. But it wouldn't be for a few years, likely - just enough time for you guys to finish book 3... ;)

Dain, I've gone through my emails from you and through my files and I do not have a copy of Lencher's journal. The only one sent to us was the Journal of Shroyk. Can you please email Lencher's journal? Thanks.

Lencher's journal was not actually a document - it was a summary of notes and concepts with specific bonuses if you read it (kind of like the Draconic War Manual).

So that is why you don't formally have a copy - because there is no formal copy, unfortunately.

Send me a quick email, if you'd like, on what specifically I can provide you via the Journal. As in - what details you are looking for. I am certain Ariarh read it - so if there was something you needed to know about via your reading - just ask me specifics, and I can go from there...

Well you keep saying to me that Lencher mentioned what kind of experiments he was conducting and what he used re blood samples etc ... So that would be most helpful. And yes, Ry has read the journal. :)

No worries - that will be up for your Council Meeting.

To all:

Well gang, I’m going to be going out of town for the weekend, and where I’m going – when you get close – not even cell phone’s work, so I certainly won’t be able to check postings, nor will I be able to update.

So I figured I’d let everyone know. While I’m at – please do me the same courtesy. If you won’t be posting for more then a day (as in 2 days or more) – just toss up a line on the Discussion Thread so I know what is going on, and what you want us to do with your character. It is really annoying when I don’t see people posting for several days – and I have taken the time to write out plot sensitive stuff for their character, and they simply aren’t around, and I have no idea when they’ll be back. So, if you can’t post – that’s cool – just please give me an ETA so I know what to do with your character, and the stuff I write for them. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

Anyway – enjoy your weekend, and I hope I do too.

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Enjoy your weekend, Dain.

Thank you very much, Ry – I do appreciate it, and I hope that things will be good this weekend. The temperature is projected to be over 105 degrees, not counting humidity – and from what I hear – that is on the Celsius Scale! No, no – I kid, not Celsius, but Fahrenheit – but still damn hot! I hope I can survive it, but we shall see.

Meanwhile – the massive amounts of donuts I ate for breakfast instead of oatmeal certainly didn’t help - though technically it was only one donut, it still feels like a lot!

Quick Addendum –

Due to the fact that I won’t be leaving for a bit longer than I anticipated, I shall have the chance to do some posting on the board for a bit. If you’re around – and are looking to see some feedback – I should be able to post on-and-off for another few hours before I formally have to go.

Okay gang - I'm off! See you on Sunday - sorry I couldn't post more - I'll take it up when I get home!

Ahoy gang! Just got home recently - how are you all doing?

Well - to be frank - it was a bit of a rough weekend. I avoided a tornado warning in a bunker for about an hour when several massive trees collapsed on our campsite - luckily - no one was hurt.

Meanwhile, of course, we lost power for the whole site - and with no air, electric or energy in general - the massive LARP that was schedule that uses some of the outdoor camp lights which are on during the nighttime to light up the field for fighting were completely off - making fighting in pitch black do-able - but not very easily! We had people huddled around the stifling "tavern" (re: Chow Hall) - doing social RP over actual candlelight even as 80 mile winds were blowing outside - for myself - I gamed only to about 4:00 AM on Friday night and was up at 7:00 AM on Saturday - it was starting to get hot in my bunk!

The day was brutal! With temperatures over 100 degrees we had to do rotating shifts to the fields for combat - and OUR GM insists that if we want to have "armor" for our characters - we must be wearing actual armor - which was kind of a bear - even though I only wear leather.

Speaking of which - my steel-toed combat boots were too toasty - so I swtiched to moccissins - which, by the way - I hadn't broken in. Needles to say - by Sunday my right foot had dried blood on it, and my left foot had swollen blisters - and the soles of me feet still hurt from treading on the gravel pathways that criss-crossed the entire campsite.

By Saturday afternoon my brother (the camp's formal paramedic - he is one in real life) may actually have been getting heat exhaustion - though he denies it - he was so hot he was ladling ice cubes over his head, and they were melting on his scalp in less then a minute - but he was wearing read leather armor - and black undergarments - so it was pretty hot - but luckily we had gotten power back at the site by around noon - so we at least had AC in the "Tavern" for him to cool down a bit.

MEANWHILE - no phone reception for about 15 miles from the site in any case - so we didn't even know that things were bad enough to call out the national guard to here - until we heard it from a late-commer to the game on Saturday - who also informed us that 3 out of 4 roads were blocked off by fallen trees. All of this during when we were trying to do combat in the fields - but meanwhile, my feet still had dried blood sticking to them - but I didn't even know - because I didn't bother to strip them off and look until sunday - as for showering? Good luck! An exercise in futility - it felt good for while you did it - but five minutes out the door and your clothes were already sticking to you.

As a fun aside my brother prepared a "quest" in which the characters found a body that had been tortured - the body as - of course - a character in make-up - but the part of him that had the intestines ripped out on his belly - well; like me - my brother is a stickler for details - let's just say he actually went to the butcher shop on Friday to get the "supplies" to make that look authentic - I hear some of the players on that part of the quest were very... disquieted, by what they saw... :)

Saturday night was misery for me - I tried to sleep - but it was so hot in the damn cabin and with no wind - the air was still and damp from the lake nearby - the one with the bugs at... I'm laying in bed with long sleeves and and a wrap around my head to make sure bugs don't get on me - drifting between aching madness - and fitful dreams - when I finally woke up on Sunday I felt like a million years old!

After breakfast we got together for one more massive battle - planned right under the time of day when the sun was highest - and the sky was so pale and icky it looked like a filmy gray with the haze of heat and humidity.

Even so - I earned several silver pieces (yeah - good luck trying to get a gold) - did contract work for several warriors as a Crafter - formed a union - acted as defense council against an enemy of the town in an Imperial Court - killed some pirates and raided their ship - rooted out a haunted castle from a ghost and recovered a gem - unilaterally got a Crafter Guild formed - took on a few contracts and earned some ready coin - saved the wife of a pirate captain who arrived in our town - bargained with my High Priest to form a official "Casino" in my temple (I worship the god of Crafters and Luck) - came in second at an archery contest - and; other then grinding my feet into a bloody mess - and possibly being indirectly responsible for one of my allies being cursed and tasting of dragons blood in a dark ritual - well... Hmmm...

Point is - I had an amazing weekend! And now I'm back - so...

Yay!

As an aside - Logan may not yet have his power back as we are in the same state and over 400,000 people lost power. But I cant let a state-wide catastrophe stop me from posting!

Though it may slow down my momentum a bit - except responses soon - I am, however - pretty damn tired. It may take me a bit to catch up...

Yeah, so that stuff.

Can't sleep till linens are out of dryer - well, I can - but comfortably!

Feet still hurting, though - too tired to do much.

I'm home now - but Live Action Role Playing is a bit tricky - especially when it's all that above - even so - that's where the fun comes in.

But God - I need to rest... Yay sleep - when I have time for it...

More to come either tonight - or up tomorrow...
