‘We Be Goblins’ sequel?

Adventures

I ran this ‘We Be Goblins’ module last night and we had a great time

I got an email this morning from one of the player asking if we could do a sequel. Is this a good module or Pathfinder Society module that could be slight modify to work with goblins as PC characters?

I thought I remember an adventure in a Dungeon that had monsters as PC. Does anyone remember that adventure?

Use Master of the Fallen Fortress. It can easily be modified to be a lone tower in the middle of nowhere, and has a few plot elements that can easily be converted to involve goblins.

spoiler:
It even has dogs as the opening adversary.

Grand Lodge

Why no send them though an adventure as goblins... They could even use the ones provided or make their own... Society or paths might be good way to go...

I remember TWO such adventures.

One was "Monsterquest" by Vince Garcia, in issue #10, for 1e.

The other was "Rank Amateurs" by John Terra, in issue #22, for BECMI (for use with the "Orcs of Thar" gazetteer.)

I looked at the Fallen Fortress and it look great. I am going to used it.

Spoiler:
It also has a Giant spider. I mean Lotslegs eats goblin babies many.

I am also considering running Rise of the Runelords with a few of the party being goblins.

It's pretty conceiveable that some braver-than-most goblins could end up joining forces with a tolerant "standard" party.

Someone else did this. I recommend searching the message board threads for his comments. He said it was a lot of fun, and I'd be willing to be he'd lend you his notes to use for your game.

do a search for user tbug's posts... it was his campaign

I was thinking of running a slightly altered Jade Regent. Following the events of We Be Goblins, the chief, frightened of the new popularity of these hero-goblins, sends them off on some suicidal mission. When they get back, the heroes have cleared out the village and set off on the Jade Regent Path. The goblins will follow, seeking revenge. Or maybe just whatever booty the heroes made off with.

We Be Goblins is technically a lead-in for the Jade Regent Adventure Path. Not sure how viable it would be to just start that Adventure Path... but realistically it seems like a tempting option to consider (especially since We Be Goblins actually is pretty generous with the treasure.

However if doing a full adventure path as a DM I'd probably suggest that every player create their own, fully customized goblin character instead of running the pre-generated characters (I'd let them use traits from both the Goblins of Golarian book as well as the Jade Regent adventure path). Since Goblins are a somewhat weaker race than other races - I'd also either encourage a larger party and/or add an NPC character or companion. I'd probably also start with at least a 20pt buy.

Another goblin module (designed to be run as a sequel) would be a welcome thing for me. Ultimately (over a few years) I'd love it if a three or four module 'goblin arc' could be produced. We've been playing RPGs for a while and a new perspective is always refreshing.

Could be fun. The goblins level up on whatever the party left behind and burst into the throne room right after the party finishes off the Jade Regent. A rather beaten up party would be a fittign challenge for a somewhat behind the curve goblin party.

Or as I pitched in the Jade Regent topic, Have Scribbleface survive and the group has to track him down throughout the JR AP. Scribble hides out in various locations like the ONi fortress in NoFS, hitches a ride with a caravan going over the Crown and then through the Forest of Spirits where he at last ends up as the Jade Regent's jester. Nevermind freeing a country from the grip of a tyrant, they want to ensure that Scribbleface's complete history of the Licktoad tribe is destroyed before it steals their souls!

I don't know how commercially viable such an arc would be, but I'd love to tackle it, or part of it. Writing we be goblins was the most fun I think I've ever had with an adventure and there are plenty of places the goblins could go on to.

A short arc would be awesome fun, cool idea.

My current run of Rise of the Runelords has a PC that was a goblin (but is now a gnome due to a reincarnation spell). She was a great little character for the group as she was determined to lead the party and not be a traditional goblin breeder female.

The fun you had writing it shone through to the reader, let me tell you. :)

Hopefully it's been well received enough that at least a follow up might be possible, even if a whole series of modules would be too niche-y.

Give the Paizo Fan's natural tendency towards goblin love, I'd say it would be extremely viable. Huge thank you for the fun our table had as fire-loving, dog-hating maniacs!

More fun than Devil Box?! that one featured Kobolds rather than goblins, but more inspired Pett silliness for those who liked We be Goblins.

Is it true there's a sequel to DB out there, oh mulleted madman?

Liberty's Edge

There's a tie in with Jade Regent pt 1, I think. James Jacobs mentioned it somewhere.

Well, I'll drag the fine Mr Jacobs to one side at Paizcon and have a quite word involving fireworks and puppies.

We played it here as a PbP, then just kept going. They're 7th level, right now, about to go 8th.

They're just as goofy as ever.

Well I think it would be fun to do an adventure, where, once you get your goblins get their fire works, they then go on to raid sand point.

The dungeon could be the village, and the monsters could be the town guard.....adventurers......and the goblins get experience based on the number of fires they start, and of course there are lots of shines to make off with...

That could be fun
