They will continue to put out awesome products but will begin implanting messages into them. Anybody who buys and reads everything they produce will have a subliminal message in their brain.
When the time comes, Paizo will launch the signal, and all loyal followers of the cult of Paizo will arrive at the main office to have their brain installed into a legion of Paizobots. Then, World Domination!

World domination was never in doubt, if my bookshelves, brain and bank account are any indication. Just hoping for the specifics.

Ultimate Equipment, a complete guide to equipment, alchemical items, and magic items. Gonna be a 320 page book, and will be the big Gencon release next summer.
Of course, I'm sure everyone knows about the Rise of the Runelords hardback compilation...which will be updated fully to Pathfinder rules, have new artwork, and other new bits here and there.
Also strongly hinted at was a big NPC gallery type hardback.
Advanced Race Guide sounds really awesome too!
Psionics is still pretty far off, as is any kind of mythic/epic rules, but some kind of "high-level" campaign guide is moving closer and closer to the top of the list of books they want to do.
Miniatures are a big thing of course...with the first set in December, and then the big Rise of the Runelords set next June, which will include Huge and Gargantuan figures...including Rune Giants. Details on that are still unknown, but Wizkids is committing to doing it.
Miniature sets will be packaged in random, blind assortments, but there will also be specific sets of 6 or 8 that will be visible, and themed in particular ways (like a goblin warband). They will also be selling singles here on the Paizo site!

Ultimate equipment? I thought the other poster was joking.
Nope, it's true. They want to pull in all the various equipment, weapons, armor, etc. from the other books so that it's all in one place, while adding new armor, weapons, etc. They want it to be the definitive volume on gear. And it will have lots of new magic items, organized by slot. With new magical properites for weapons and armor too.

I suspect it's a working title..Advanced Equipment guide would be better though.
Sometimes I think Erik is too fond of the word Ultimate.
They rejected Ultimate Junk and Ultimate Tool, because they were afraid of the joke potential.
And since it's a setting-adjacent product, a Golarion-specific smaller tome called 'Merisel's Guide to Stuff I've Stolen' will come out soon after.

"Ultimate" works for me because of Eric's explaination of the reason behind the word. Essentially, the ultimate books should cover their subjects enough that you should not need an Ultimate X II. These books should be the final word on the subject for Pathfinder RPG.
I like that line of thinking. I have no interest in Ultimate Magic II, Ultimate Combat II, nor would I in an Ultimate Equipment II.
"Advanced Equipment" makes no promises, and it doesn't really describe the contents of this book, since it will include basic equiptment.
Note, all of these titles do leave room for setting specific books like Inner Sea Magic as suplimentals. Specific subsystems they want in Golarion, like wild magic, can be included in these.

That sounds good, more Ultimate hardbacks that are just second and third volumes in the lines is what would kill the game for me.

Can we get some confirmation on this? This doesn't sound likely at all.

I have not played Rise of the Runelords. But what I have heard of the AP, there are a lot of very large monsters associates with it. Varying from Large all the way to Gargantuan.
What I do know is Erik Mona said at the Future of Paizo seminar, even though not giving a monster list for the RotRL miniature set, did indicate if they did put in those large monsters (including Huge and Gargantuan in the AP storyline), they would be at that actual size.
It would be all or nothing (on seeing the important minis and the correct miniature sizes). And he finished with "It is very likely it will be all."

Brian,
I was at both Paizo seminars, and it is true about the RotRL mini's, including the gargantuans. They've already cleared it with WizKids. Can't wait!!
It is very unlikely that they would end up in the booster packs, since they are rather large. But they might end up as case incentives or even released on their own. We don't know exactly how the gargantuans will be released, but we are going to try our darndest to get them made.

I've heard that WizKids is hard at work designing packaging that's much larger on the inside than on the outside, thus allowing a Gargantuan figure to easily fit into a booster pack. Is there any truth to this?

What's a TARTUS? Turtles And Related Tortises Under Surface ? And what do sea turtles have to do with extra-dimensional spaces?

By my count there are five gargantuan creatures in the RotR AP that might merit release as part of this set:
Mother of Oblivion
Deathweb Spider
Shemhazian Demon
The Horror Tree
Rune GiantSadly, chances are that we won't see all five.
Gargantuan base rings for huge creatures, perhaps?

So my post in the other thread projecting 30-50% recycled content was too generous, it's looking more like 80%. Maybe we'll get lucky and they will have an open call for submissions and we'll see some outside the box thinking. Otherwise, UE is not in my future.

Funny how Magic Item Compendium and Spell Compendium, both being 90% recycled books, were some of the best selling WotC books :)

Where are you getting 80% from?
Erik indicated in the Future of Paizo seminar there will be a LOT of new items in the book. Both magical and mundane, as well as some artifacts.
Yes, there will be items condensed from all previous books, but the way I understood it from the seminar it is far from going to be a high percentage.

That's an *awesome* idea.
Yes, please!

Even if they completely reprint the Adventurer's Armory inside Ultimate Equipment, that will be 12% of the new book. Usually a book like this does collect some of the existing material from the smaller books (Campaign Setting, AP support material, Player Companions, etc.) Even so, there will be a lot of new material to go with it.
While I'm disappointed that it means Mythic rules won't be tackled until 2013 at the earliest, I can see Ultimate Equipment as the next logical standard book. Even if they don't do a Bestiary 4, it sounds like the 3rd major 2012 book might be a big NPC book instead.

I love the "huge-ifier" rings that come with WotC's Monster Vault products, but note that gargantuan-ifiers would have to be square rather than ring-shaped in order to fit around the base of a square-bottomed huge mini.

I’ll be honest, when speaking with some of the various Paizo staff (Jason, Sean, Erik, James and Lisa), where they didn’t say Mythic wasn’t coming, it does not appear to be on their radars anytime soon.
Jason did say he feels he has a ‘very good idea’ on it, but then added that they still have a lot they want to do if they decide to tackle post 20th.
Erik indicated that they are aware a lot want Mythic play, but wants to make sure it is the right time to publish it. He didn’t extrapolate, but the impression I received is he doesn’t feel that time is going to be soon.
What I came across after speaking to them about a mythic book is they have thought about it, and most importantly, to be patient. I really feel the time will come eventually that we will see the book.

I was hoping for an Ultimate Divine
I'm not too interested in another Ultimate Magic nor Ultimate Combat but I'd buy an APG2 is it has the same format of the APG but with new content. By same format I mean table of content stay the same. Races, classed, prestige class, feats, rule updates, magical items, spell index, spells.
The APG was really good and packed a lot of stuff in it and paizo shouldn't not deliver the same amount in order to win product of the year next year

I'd rather not. We already have 18 base classes. I really think we shouldn't add many more...maybe two or three along the way. Having a whole book devoted to adding more classes right now?

Dragon78 |

Yeah Souphan, I really liked how the APG was set up as well. If they did do a "Ultimate divine" then they would have have a Ulimate arcane, warrior, skill, music, etc. and that would be a lttle much. I also agree about the lack of prestige classes, traits, favored class bonuses, etc. from the two ultimate books.
I hope there will be a Beastairy IV next year. I like monsters a lot, in fact there the reason I got into D@D.
I also would like to see Paizo's take on psionics, of course they only need the Psion class and have psionic based archtypes for the other classes except sorcerers/oracles it would be a bloodline/mystery.

I totally agree, we don't need any new classes. We already have casters using each mind attribute and spell system. So the new classes in the APG can be removed and are not needed but I'd like to see more flexibility in the current classes, mostly sorcerers, oracles, clerics. Other classes getting a spell recall system like the Magnus, multi-classing feats to allow better balancing, and allowing people to play different roles with their class pretty many items that need to be fixed in the system.

I would still like to see Ultimate Skill.with expanded chase, negotiation, skill challenge rules. Skillful archetypes for the various classes. Expanded combat uses for skills much like Iron Heroes had. Essentially a place to give skills the love and attention they deserve. :-)
