Male Human Cleric 10

It's the same curiosity that afflicts Lovecraft protagonists.

... you are checking the IC forum too, right?

I've probably seen far worse. Probably. I seem to remember making a zombie movie in elementary... That had to be worse.

I don't know what your experience with trash cinema is, but I'm suspecting something comparable to mine. But I want to warn you, not for you, for that part of your mind that can still experience joy...

Vampire Dentist is one of the worst films I've ever seen. I've watched Gor twice and Turkish Star Wars three times (and written over 1500 words on each). I've seen Street Trash so many times I've forgotten what happiness looks like. I've shown Blood Freak to so many people, I had to register with the state of California as a superfund site. I spilled the awful secret of Kickboxing Academy to a roomful of people just to see the looks on their faces.

So when I say Vampire Dentist is bad. I mean it. It's Slipstream bad. Going Overboard bad. It's a new kind of bad that one day scientists will discover in the heart of a black hole voting for Michelle Bachmann. Like I said, there's a debate over whether it even qualifies as a film! One side says yes, since it's about 90 minutes and there might be a plot. The other side maintains that it's a war crime.

only one way to find out. Mel, when's movie night? ;)

Maybe Wednesday after open swim? And MegaShark v Crocosarus is on...

Unless it turns my computer into a black hole, I can always turn it off.

But thank you for the sincere warning... But like a good Cuthulu player, it just makes me want to watch it more. But again, Malk...

A friend of mine hypothesized The Badness Spectrum, in which movies were rated on whether they were good, fun, bad, and not fun.

For example
Good, Fun: The Big Lebowski
Bad, Fun: The Room
Good, Not Fun: Children of Men
Bad, Not Fun: Vampire Dentist

The only problem with the Spectrum is that there is ongoing debate about whether or not Vampire Dentist is a movie.

I like this spectrum. I could offer many "Bad, Not Fun" suggestions if you'd like (The Devil's Chair, Caligula Reincarnated as Hitler, Meat For Satan's Icebox, Gummo).

I don't quite know where something like Birdemic fits on the fun/not fun scale, but I do know where it fits on good/bad.

I take back what I said to Lio. That is a gauntlet. I will put it in my Netflix queue as well ... once I get the queue back down from its 500-movie max.

That nested quote is pure Lovecraft villain. The more they taunt "you cannot handle it, it is too horrible", the more you are compelled to investigate, and then it turns out (hey, surprise surprise) that the villain was entirely correct.

I'm volunteering for Diamond Head's Bon Dance on the 27th. But that's another early morning jig for setup, if you want to come with... Or we could go later and help with clean-up.

Oh, the guy who makes the dice boxes is Diamond Head, since you wanted an unpainted one.

how ungodly early is this set up? i might be up for it if we call it early on Friday night (say by 11). ;) i got some Greek stuff to do for the late afternoon/early evening that day with the bellydancers. so depending on what time, the night stuff could work out too.

It's in my schedule from 7 am to 10 pm... Last year I went from about 7 am to about 10 am-ish. I vaguely remember coffee.

4 am and hot sake is the mochi pounding in Volcano... And the weekend before Christmas :)

And you always have an open invite to that one, as you know.

You know the scene in the ninjer film where the swords show up in our hero's office, and he says, "This is a ninjer challenge. It is an unrefusable challenge," and then his assistant says, "Wow, boss! Are you a ninjer? Are you going to accept the challenge?"

To not accept Alaric's challenge (and attempt to blast sanity in return) would be evidence that I had been possessed by a pod person.

Speaking of hijacking the OOC forum

I tend to think of my GMing persona as Tzimisce. And not the old-fashioned kind.

Anyway, barring a series of failed climb checks and critical fumbles the Likes Of Which The World Has Never Seen, this next round of combat is extremely likely to be the last – the question is not so much whether Muthildah will go down, but who will take her out.

The resolution of that round will also be the last vacation post I make; about 24 hours after that (Monday night my time), I will be posting from home once again.

So, a few things to note:

1) Once combat is over, you will all be third level. Those of you newer to Pathfinder, remember to take an additional Feat, and remember your Favored Class bonus. Feel free to post for approval as soon after the end of combat as you like. (Incidentally, given a couple of events, I’d recommend keeping a current copy of your character saved Offline.)

2) My Monday post will start the fifth day of travel; at that time, ALL lingering events and conversations from before the fifth day will be considered to be over. If it hasn’t happened by then, it hasn’t happened. If your conversation got cut off in the middle, it got cut off. Bear attack or something. As of Monday’s post, all IC clocks will be updated to the same time, at least for the first few seconds after the post goes up. :)

3) The floor should now be considered open for discussion of the Third Level Caravan Feat. Let the games begin!

4) Your Caravan is now damaged. As far as I can tell, the mechanic seems to be that the Caravan can take any amount of damage with no penalty until it reaches 0 hit points, at which point you are all Totally Screwed. So, your options might be (1) ignore the damage and press on, (2) stop for the next day and repair the damage in the Churlwood, or (3) press on to Roderic’s Cove and stop there to repair the damage. Feel free to discuss.

Human Ranger

So I take it we're precluding the option of backtracking the ogre/ogrekin to see where they came from while repairs are made. Hmmm, then I'd say on to Roderic's Cove.

Ogre tracking would not be precluded. Why would it be?

Oh, one more thing (since I ALWAYS seem to forget one thing) --

When you increase your level, increase your Relationship Score by ALL NPC's by +1, to reflect the growing camaraderie fostered by the companionship of the road.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

OK, now you guys are just making stuff up. |:( I don't even want to know what a Brujah is.

Human Ranger

I have absolutely no interest in the game...but I have been told that if I were to play I have been told that I should be a Lasombra...but if it's a Cam game we would have to settle for Brujah.

No, sadly, they/we are not making these terms up.

However, from what I have seen in the short time since Ry got us together, I have no doubt you guys are creative and talented enough to do so.

Circle the Wagons?
Efficient Repairs?
Lucky Caravan?

i think Circle the Wagons would be useful for the + 4 to AC when the wagons are circled... so that's my tentative vote.

OFFICIAL LOOT DIVISION POST

Claimable:

Masterwork dagger, large (152 gp)
+1 Flail, medium (1,154 gp)
1 ounce of Sovereign Glue (1,200 gp)
Leather armor, medium (5 gp)
Spiked gauntlet, medium (2.5 gp)
2 shortspears, medium (1 gp)
A ratty pouch made out of a cow's stomach containing a few dead turtles (0 gp)
"Greatclub" which is actually a small tree unusable by anyone but the now-dead Slugwort (0 gp)

Unclaimable:

308 gp

(Also please remember to weigh in, if you care, on whether you want the Caravan to move on, stop for repairs, or head to the town to stop for repairs. Myriana, since tracking the Ogres' tracks back to a possible lair would be a perfectly valid Day 5 activity if you repair the wagons while in the forest, should I presume you are changing your vote to that?)

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

I think I am level-ed.

Male Half-elf Barbarian

Officially passing on all of the available loot.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

The caravan only took like 6 points of damage, out of many dozen HP? I think we should press on and make repairs in the next settlement.

Having a spiked gauntlet doesn't impair my ability to use the guisarme, right? But it might allow me to make AoOs at point-blank range while holding the guisarme. In that case, dibs.

I'm not sure we could talk Myriana and Melinda out of tracking the ogres to their lair.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

I'm also going to pass on the claimable loot.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer
Rhost Mab-i-gof wrote:

Ditto.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

I like the look of the Lucky Caravan feat. Goes well with the Halfling Luck my people are known for.

But Circle the Wagons also looks good.

So those are my first and second preferences, respectively.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Another one to look at in the near future (probably not this level, but later) is Extra Wagons since we only have one passenger opening, which will make it harder to add anyone interesting. Assuming, of course, we met someone interesting. :)

Human Ranger

Myriana has leveled. awaiting approval

Human Ranger

Myri claims the sovereign glue

Kalimac has levelèd.

Female Elven Urban Druid 9, Brightness Seeker 1

are the dead turtles icky... or could they be made into turtle soup?

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

I picked Murderous Command for my new 1st-level spell, is that allowed? The DC will suck, but if it works, it's hilarious. :)

Also, switched the order of Revelations around a bit with respect to my original build plan. I picked War Sight rather than Maneuver Mastery for 3rd level. I figure it fits the concept better, and I get more mileage out of it at the moment.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

Jeez, why am I always mixing up the girls? Well, at least Lio seemed to know a lot about the taste of humanoids.

I guess I'm just roleplaying a male character in an appropriately clueless fashion. ;)

i have a huge request! could you give a little more description of body language, or what your character is doing besides speaking? i have a hard time understanding tone, and such, from speaking alone. it would be a great help. i'm not always sure whom your addressing, for example.

thank you!

Lio knows a lot of things, most of which no one with a happy childhood would ever want to know.

Hrunndalf is a barbarian... and Mel is a monk. Maybe not in class. It's why they picked Brujah for him.

Then again... :)
