If I had to guess, I'd say it's because subscribers have started getting their pdf's of both Ultimate Combat and Part 1 of the Jade Regent AP. They're probably bogging down the site when they know perfectly well that we are trying to create the greatest rp ever... Heartless bastards...

** spoiler omitted **
I noticed the site being dodgy, no worries. Looks like we can finally get the 1st Day on the way too.

I'll be more active tonight. Work is still a bit busy, making it hard to post in character. I usually need a little time to get in the right frame of mind with Ingle. That and the fact that I am currently regretting how many beers I drank yesterday...
Also, here's my email as well:
Gathien Toran |
Speaking of, Gathien didn't return the one you tossed him earlier (before the dwarf stabilized the bandits). He will do so - that's player-forgetfulness and nothing else..
And I'm stil finding the site a bit choppy even this morning.
Gathien Toran |
No, no. I'd hate for Ingle to have something to hold over my head. Figuratively.
Rorgrym Khazhugar |
I'm fine with moving on to Day 1 though my attempts at curing weren't much better than my attempt at attacking :/
The site ate another post earlier in the day and twice would not let me login. I still need to get the letter out but continuity won't be broken if it's posted late. The letter will be sent with the carrier bird if possible or left with Oleg to deliver at first opportunity if not.
On another note, probably sometime early Wed. morning I will be leaving for GenCon and I'll be returning Sunday night (probably very late). I hope to have computer access there but if not I'll use my phone. My phone's Internet is not the best so, if it comes to using that, my posts will be brief.
Gathien Toran |
Moving on is fine with me, too.
DM Patcher || Kingmaker |
The site has definitely been odd the last couple of days - I have taken to writing my posts, with format and everything, in notepad if I see the instability is just around the corner. I also frantically copy-paste every post I make, just to be sure that the site doesn't die on me.
I'll advance to Day 1 shortly. If you wish to retcon a conversation with the dwarf, that's fine with me - just give it a nice OOC "Retcon" headliner. Or spoiler it. Whichever you want.

Oh, while I remember; the bandits had the following gear - I forgot to mention. Oleg was supposed to ask you all which bits and pieces you wanted - and if you wish to sell it, he'll also buy it for full price. Otherwise, he'll claim the remains for new stock.
Alchemist’s fire (2);
Leather armor (3),
Dagger,
Short sword (2),
Composite longbow (+2 Str),
Longbow (2),
60 arrows,
6 days of trail rations,
Silver amulet (???),
55 gp

I'm all for a group fund. But at the same time, I wouldn't mind having personal cash, so I can start crafting a bit. Maybe we should do something like putting 1/4 or 1/2 of money recovered into a group fund and then splitting the remainder equally? It would relieve some of the uncomfortableness of "so-and-so keeps using all the money", or "I want something for my character, but I don't think it's important enough to ask the group for money". Thoughts?
Kragath Lightbringer |
I'm fine for whatever arrangement we come to, I just think it's important to have some funds set aside for things like room and board at places so we don't have to dip into personal cash for that. Also, for supplies that we need as a group, like wands, horses, general goods, etc. etc.
My vote is half split 6 ways for individual funds, a full half for group funds. Keep in mind, if someone REALLY wants/needs something and needs some help from group funds, I'm cool with that as well.

No, got a huge phobia of travelling.
Heh, I get that too. Once upon a time I didn't even go further than 30 or 40 miles from home. Now I can occasionally get myself to drive to Chicago (Still only an hour and half). But I get crazy anxious if I have to go any farther than that. It's a pain in arse, frankly.
Rorgrym Khazhugar |
Rorgrym doesn't need any of the loot so selling off what we don't need is fine with me.
I think we should put all money in a group pot or have each person keep track of their own share. If we try and do both, especially as we level up, we could end up throwing WBL off. It's not an issue now but down the road I'd hate to see anyone be unintentionally short-changed.
Perhaps someone should keep a tally of rations. Or rations/6 so we know how many days the party can travel without the need for Survival rolls (Rorgrym has 11 days of rations). Water is no issue at all.

Well, I'll work with it whichever way we go. I'd just intended to do as much potion making as I could, and wanted to avoid the wait every time I asked if I could have another 25gp. Knowing my personality (as I do), I'd likely end up doing a lot less of it than I would otherwise if I had to ask to use the money.
Let's just have a vote on it and be done with it.
1) Individual funds only
2) Group funds only
3) The combination Kragath proposed.
I vote 3.

You're going to end up asking anways. Magic items are eventually going to get far too expensive to be purchased by anyone's individual tally of gold. Now we're going to have to calculate each person's tally, the group tally, and what percentage each person has taken out of the group tally. After a while, treasure is going to be less about coins and more about fixed value objects. How are you going to decide what fixed value object goes into someone's individual fund and what into the group fund. Someone's going to have to do a a lot of extra paperwork to keep all that balanced. If someone doesn't mind doing that then fine but it seems like a lot of extra work for no benefit to me.
But I suspect I'll be outvoted here so I'm just going to abstain.

Well, being small, I look at all the gear and pass on it -- agree with the idea of adding the rations to the pool. Also, didn't they have mounts?
I'd say we should sell the gear, and I'm all about the #3 option - some money for each and a group fund to pay for our future food, accomodations, etc.
And I've never done a con -- by the time I didn't have school-related or money-related issues, I would then have to convince my wife.. and not so much.
Kragath Lightbringer |
Sounds like we are selling the gear and going with option 3: typing out what I see thus far:
Leather Armor x 3: sold, 30g
Short Sword x 2: sold, 20g
Alchemist's Fire x 2: Ingle
Composite Longbow, 20 arrows: Jonas
Longbow, 20arrows, Dagger: Kragath
Longbow, 20 Arrows: group supply (my suggestion, as back up or if someone wants now)
Trail Rations x 6: group supply
Silver amulet: ???
Group Gold: +52g5s
Individual gains: 8g7s5c
That's how I tally it right now. Will change if someone posts further information. Will add to gear/supply once verified. Also, I agree there are 3 confused horses somewhere. LOL
Also, for Patcher: Kragath would like to rig the dagger up on the inside of his shield, in case he gets disarmed in future battles. Didn't figure a short sword would fit, but if it would he would use that instead. Just lemme know if that works.
Gathien Toran |
As we're all staring at the amulet -- can any of up appraise it? ;)
In terms of the horses, after they're checked out to ensure they're healthy and to get an idea about their level of training, it might be worth keeping a spare as part of our 'travel-train' -- in case someone's mount eats an arrow or the like.
Updated my personal sheet for the coin Kragath was handing out. ;)

Assuming this was brought to his attention before they turned in the previous evening Peregrine would have inspected the amulet, and if he found it to be magical in any way would have cast Identify via his bonded ring. Taking 10 for a 28 to his Spellcraft check.

If no one else does, Rorgrym will take the 6 days of rations bringing his total to 17 days (which he'll divide among tha party as needed). Having never read nor played this AP before I don't really know if food is something that ever really becomes a concern but in case it does, those 17 rations will last the party almost 3 days...or maybe 2 if the halfling insists on six meals a day ;)
