Do animated objects created with the Craft Construct feat follow the commands of the person who created them? I assume this is the case, but I can't find it explicitly stated anywhere.

I would say so, unless you're an apprentice.
Common sense would say that the caster of the spell is the creator, otherwise we'd have flesh golems going Frankenstein's Monster. Maybe add an amulet that lets the wearer control them?
