After seeing the attack on Victor preparing for battle.

initiative:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

male Half-Orc Witch 2

init. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

*Morgra is right behind Victor seeing as how he just put a ward on him*

Male Human Fighter 2

I am running behind Victor, about 30 feet back.

Perception to see where the spear was thrown. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Initiative. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Victor is staggered by the blow but still standing he turns to face his attacker.

Initiative1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

*Still standing watch over Simon, I hear the commotion grow even more raucous. With a thought, Snarl and Sludge are both on guard.*

Initiative:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

I'll be right by Damien when things go down.

On my initiative, I will fire my crossbow at the assailant.

attack:
Crossbow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

I'm assuming this would be point blank if he was able to sneak attack victor.

Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

After firing, dropping the crossbow and drawing a bomb.

Note:
If for some reason, I cannot see the target I will instead drink a potion of shield. Just wanted to post before I went to work for the day.

Thanks to your low-light vision, you are able to ignore the miss chance from dim light. Cloaked by the shadows, just out of range of Damion's full lantern light, you detect a vaguely humanoid figure. It is roughly six foot tall, and appears to be covered from head to toe in a viscous sanguine liquid of some kind. Claws, razor sharp teeth, and whip-like tail conjure up images of demons or imps from the folklore of your childhood. You launch a crossbow bolt at the figure and strike true, however, the bolt appears to dissolve almost instantly once it makes contact with the creature's caustic slime.

The creature leaps forward from the darkness, falling on Victor with clawed hands at the ready. In the normal light level provided by Damion's lantern, all party members can discern the creature as some kind of blood-covered demon (see above for description). Knowledge religion, arcana, or planar can be used to discern details about this creature.

Charge attack:
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16 vs 16 (14 flat footed, +2 from Morgra's ward). 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) + 5 = 11 damage if successful.

Seeing the nasty beast on my massive 6 initiative I'll charge the beast if possible. If not I'll drink my potion of shield of faith.

Attack roll with +2 charge bonus:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 161d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

On my initiative I active my rage ability and strike at the beast attacking me

Attack Roll1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Damage 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 = 14 if successful.

Male Human Fighter 2

I stride 20 feet forward, set down my lantern as to illuminate the area, and unsheathe my longsword.

*The sight of the demonic figure is appalling, but it isn't the strangest thing I've seen. Still, I don't want to get close to it, especially if it's got caustic blood...I focus on it, trying to dredge up some inkling of what it is...*

Knowledge (Planes):
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

male Half-Orc Witch 2

I'll try and recognize the demon 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

if that takes my action up I'll instead heal Victor while casting defensively

cast defensive 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

If successful 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Start thinking back to old sailor stories for anything similar to this monstrosity. Wondering if a bomb would even hurt it.

Arcana:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Male (2 balls) Evolved fetus Level 10 mouth breather

INITIATIVE ORDER (going into round 2)

First: Elessar Seabreeze (23)
Second: Blood Demon (23)
Third: Victor Darkmoor (19)
Fourth: Damion Ettelbrek (14)
Fifth: Morgra Bonecaller (12)
Sixth: Roderick VonDiablos (6)
Seventh: Izyk Darkwood (5)

FIRST ROUND:
Elessar did no damage (target had DR)
Blood Demon dealt 11 damage to Victor
Victor dealt 4 damage after DR
Damion drew his sword and set illumination
Morgra did not need to cast defensively, healed Victor for 9 points
Roderick narrowly missed the Blood Demon
Izyk Darkwood identified the creature as a denizen of the lower planes

RECAP:
going into the second round. so far the surprise round has passed (macade took 16 damage), and the first round has passed (both the demon and macade dealt some damage to each other), and now we're going into the second round and the first round actions resolve in order of initiative. once this combat is over we should all have a good feel how it works in a pbp format and things will resolve more naturally and will take less time in the future.

Elessar Seabreeze:

Knowledge arcana:
Knowledge Arcana = 21: "this is a blood demon, or babau as they are sometimes known. as denizens of the abyss, blood demons typically serve among the ranks of assassins and spies. they are the stealth operatives of covert activities during the blood wars. most blood demons have resistance to all the energy types except sonic. this particular demon is under the effects of a spell of some sort."

Blood Demon: The demon takes a sweep at Victor with 1 claw, attacks Roderick with 1 claw, and bites a random melee target.

Claw 1 vs Victor:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13 vs AC 16 (+2 for the ward, -2 for raging)
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 damage if successful.

Claw 2 vs Roderick:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 vs AC 16 (-2 for charging)
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 damage if successful.

Bite vs Random:
1d2 ⇒ 2 1 means Victor is bitten, 2 means Roderick is bitten.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 vs Armor Class of 16 (both targets have same AC this round).
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 damage if successful.

Rolling to confirm critical hit:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 vs AC of 16. Ouch! The Blood Demon sinks his fangs into Roderick, critically injuring him and doing an additional 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 damage.

You successfully strike the blood demon, splitting a section of blood-slick skin. Ichor oozes from the wound, and the demon glares with retribution in its eyes.

Make a DC 18 Reflex save to avoid damaging your weapon on the demon's protective slime. (Even if you fail, I think your weapon has high enough hardness to negate the acid damage.)

male Half-Orc Witch 2

*Morgra backs up to access the situation stepping where the demon cannot hit him when he casts spells but still in touch range of Victor and Roderick and then Glares at the demon*

hex:
Evil Eye on the demon DC 14 If he fails 6 rounds of -2 AC if he makes it lasts for 1 round

After feeling my blade sink into the creature I notice his blood looks dangerous I try to pull my sword away quickly.

Reflex Save 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Afterwards I dodge swiftly out of the way of his next claw attack and take another brutal swing at the beast.

Attack Roll1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Damage 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (4, 4) + 8 = 16 if successful

damage:
I calculated my damage wrong the first attack which is fine but this time I calculated it correctly as 2d6+8

Bad luck (really bad luck) on the random bite. I never said whether or not you guys get hero points, I think it's only fair to give them to you guys if you're up against something this tough. Roderick can burn 2 hero points to stay alive, or a healer can burn a hero point and make a heal check DC 26 (healer will get +8 to the roll for the hero point) on their initiative to keep Roderick's wound from proving fatal.

I are dead. I have an 8 constitution, and it killed me on one round. I'll have to burn the 2 hp if we have them.

*In the face of such a ferocious opponent, I know that Snarl may need assistance in breaking through the thick skin of the demon should it make it past the others. Spoiler:
I cast Magic Fang on Snarl. Both Snarl and Sludge ready actions to attack if the demon comes within range, either due to retreating or coming to attack. Snarl will pounce and Sludge has 10ft reach.

intimidate:
1d20 ⇒ 15

After intimidating Damion, I will prepare to throw the bomb.

"Yea, you might want to move away from the demon."

Readied action to throw the bomb after everybody moves back.

Combat Round 2 Recap:
Elessar identified the blood demon
Blood Demon dealt 26 damage to Roderick, nearly killing him
Victor dealt 6 damage to the Blood Demon
Damion engaged the blood demon, missed his attack roll
Morgra cast mage armor on himself
Roderick stabilizes at -7
Izyk Darkwood casts magic fang on his eidolons

ROUND 3, Blood Demon's initiative

Elessar is readying his action to launch a bomb after melee combatants move.

The Blood Demon conjures an orb of magical darkness, focusing the spell on the ground below him. The aura of darkness spreads to encompass the nonmagical lantern light, rendering the 20 foot radius around the demon completely dark.
This action provokes an attack of opportunity from Damion and Victor. The demon has -2 AC this round thanks to Morgra's hex. (these attacks will occur before the orb is formed, so there is no miss chance from darkness).
Once the magical darkness takes hold, the area will provide total concealment (50% miss chance).

hints from the DM:
looks like Elessar could possibly critically hit with his bomb, but in order for his readied action to go off, Damion and Victor will have to back away from the demon by at least 5 feet. (Damion and Victor can make melee attacks before taking movement, this way everyone can get at least 1 attack in)

Rolling to confirm critical

roll:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

If confirmed an extra 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

you guys can't take a 5-foot step as part of your attacks of opportunity. right now it's the demon's intiative (you guys get the attack of opportunity on his action), then victor's initiative (he can take a standard action to swing, then he has a move action), followed by damion's initiative, followed by ethan's readied action if it triggers.

Pathfinder darkness snuffs out nonmagical light sources and causes the illumination to drop one level. In this case, that means complete darkness in the 20' radius. Complete darkness equals 50% miss chance, it's total concealment. Pathfinder darkness allows creatures with darkvision to function normally.
