GM seeking PC interested in taming an unspoiled and wild frontier. Prefer companions with pluck and daring willing to take personal initiative and mold world around them into something greater. Prefer combat training, some knowledge of healing or arcane arts.

Party prefers long walks in the woods, horseback riding after sunset, rock climbing, spelunking, good food, good company, and the chance to slaughter evil. If this sounds agreeable, please let us know.

I would be very interested in playing. I have 3 possible character ideas and, since your players seem to be filling out a questionnaire to guide their creation process, a copy of that would be nice.

My three concepts would be: A human gunslinger (Using Elghinn Lightbringer's test build.

A very young half-elven summoner, with a bodygaurd (Armor, sword and eventually large) style eidolon.

A halfling paladin of Erastil. Probably a little racist and sexist. Should be fun to be a bit of a dick lol.

I'd like you to weigh in, waiting for your reply

--Thanks

I will go find him right quick Smendor is the char name dwarf merchant.

Rolled 3d6 and got a 9pt build; 9, 13, 15, 11, 11, 9. I applied additional points evenly down the spread until I arrived at a 25pb. New scores are; 11, 15, 17, 12, 12, 10. I'm arraigning them in order, as rolled. Looks like a guy who can take a hit, huh?

STR: 11+2
DEX: 15

I'm going with a Human Fighter. S/He'll be a two-hander. S/He's a bright guy/gal who knows an opportunity when S/he sees it. Reclaiming the stolen lands for Brevoy is a great way to win fame and fortune.

If I make the cut, I'll figure out how to format a character sheet.

Note: I'm wondering if it isn't time to go gender-bender and play a female? She'd be a homely thing... DM input would be very welcome.

Since I just missed the cut for your other game I thought I would try again here. I'll throw something(probably a rogue) together and have it up in a little bit.

I have a couple of ideas for summoners

The first is a halfling with the master Summoner Archtype. She's going to be very fey influenced and prefer to summon elementals and the like. Personality wise she's a trickster with a slightly malicious streak. Not evil per-se, but willing to psychologically or physically scar those who are deemed to deserve it. I'm leaning toward the name Evelyn. ;-)

The second I've actually started building.
Vesta Groveborn
Vesta is a brood master who I currently have built as a half elf, but I may make her a halfling instead. Short bio below. It's a work in progress, but you get the flavor i'm going for.

Vesta Bio:

Vesta was found at a presumably young age wandering in an otherwise secret Druid grove. She was found naked and sleeping in the nook of an ancient tree. This green haired orphan was taken in by the Druids and taught to speak and how to behave in the "lands of man" which they knew she would one day want to visit.
Much to the Druids surprise she was occasionally joined by an otherworldly mastiff like creature which she called Roxy. The Druids surmised that this creature has cared for her at a young age and they had formed a bond. Where the Roxy came from and how Vesta was able to summon it remain a mystery that even Vesta herself has no memory of. Vesta actually doesn't remember anything from before the Druids found her.

Also, with DM's permission I'd like to have whichever halfling is picked have a curse/deformity. Mechanically it's identical to a permanent reduce person effect. It would help with the seelie/unseelie vibe i'm going for.

Finally, it's presently only on paper, but I have a human based Dragon disciple that might fit nicely in the campaign. That character is a melee monster.

Anyway, if any of these look appealing let me know. I'm an experienced player and I would love to get in on a kingmaker campaign.

Traits:

Noble Born: (Garess)

Feats:

Key skills at level 1:

Profession (Merchant)

Description:
Smendor is well groomed. He has a strong demeanor. He is not much of a leader, but he knows what needs to be done on the backend.

Personality:
Smendor is very dry and to the point. He does his job and he really does not give a flip if anyone does not like him.

Back-Story:

Smendor was born into a merchant family from the town of Brunderton. His father Morvack Iron-Face was a road warrior of the region. He was the founder of several long term trade agreements between his small privet mercantile establishment, and many of the surrounding towns.
Morvack took his small economic advantage to send his son Smendor to a formal education. Smendor took this opportunity very seriously, but he was not really accepted, and that caused him to get into a lot of fights. He lasted about 2 years at the academy, before he finally decided he was going to leave. Strangely enough he had some of the best score in the school for his group.

He left thinking those two year where a complete waste of time, but before he could leave for the trip home he was confronted by a young member of the Garess family. Morgan McGregor of house Garess was a tall very charismatic individual that had a very strong influence with the ladies of the area. Morgan was very low in the noble line so he had no hope of ever really making it anywhere without hard work.

Morgan toke a chance and he was really worried so he went looking for help. Morgan new that Smendor had a lot of natural talent when it came to the mercantile field, and also a good right cross so he went right to the point. He asked Smendor to help him make a trade before he left town. He told Smendor that he knew a guy that knew a guy that had a great opportunity, but the deal was looking so shady Morgan wanted some muscle.

Morgan made the right move getting a dwarf for the trade. The other group was attempting to push gold planted metal bars.
To this day Smendor and Morgan are an inseparable team, but they need to expand their business, so getting someone into the Stolen Lands is their next move.

Role:
I built him for the mercantile field so he should really work as the treasurer, but I think the stat block works for others as needed.

Tessara grew up in Kyonin and when the battles with Treerazer broke out she was recruted to fight against him. She spent most of her life in battle against him and it is in those battles that she honed her skills as a Ranger and as a Guide. It wasn't until her 115 birthday that see ventured out of the borders of Kyonin and into the country of Bevoy. It was a general curiousity about the outside world that told her it was time to experience what the other races know. She was saddened by what she found in Bevoy. She left behind war and sorrow only to find it here as desputes over the so called stolen lands rang out in the streets. She didn't understand the human concepts of owning land so she didn't quite understand what the disputes were about but she quickly learned that when questioned you better quickly respond with what they want to hear, lest you risk a bloody nose.

This new world frightened her but it also intrigued her and it was this intrigue that kept her in Bevoy. She travled from city to city trying to see what the humans saw in this world, trying to see the beauty in it, but failing much of the time. Then a few months ago the news came, her parents had been killed in another skrimish between her people and Treerazars minions. The note that she recieved along with her fathers will leaving her his treasured bow never leave her side. They are kept in her backpack and the bow is always strung across her back. Though the pain of loosing both her parents made her want to go back and hunt down all of the minions in Kyonin she is wize enough to know that this would not bring her parents back so she ventures forth looking to honor their memory where ever she goes.

If there is anything I can tweak let me know. I think I'm going to be going towards arcane archer so probably next level I'll dip into bard with the arcane duelist archatype and then take ranger levels again until I qualify for arcane archer.

Hey that was very classy btw in the other thread. I am not running this one, I am a player. I was helping a RL friend out by putting this up and it is his game. I will definitely put a good word in for you though with him. There are two definite characters right now that are preselected. I am playing a switch hitter ranger, and there is a Druid. I believe we are looking for three additional characters.

I like it, and in this case our builds are different enough that we could both be in a party effectively.

Phew you had me worried when you said you were playing a ranger...thought I would have the same problem as the other thread.

Truth be told me and Shanosuke have been friends in RL for over 10 years now(man that makes me feel old) so loosing out to him wasn't that big of a deal. I mean I'm already in a few games and running my own and he's not in anything atm so...I see it as only being fair. And to the others who got slots, such is life here on the boards, there will always be other games...like this one *evil grin*

Slight change. Vesta groveborn the Halfling brood master. See bio for details. She's not done being built, but you'll get the gist.

I am interested in joining this group. I was thinking of a couple different possibilities. One is a Human Inquisitor of one of the new Inquisition Domains out of Ultimate Magic. More of a social character than a combat powerhouse, he prefers to talk his foes down more than smack them around, but he can do that if he needs to.

My second thought is a halfling Ninja, aiming at a sniper build. He would be training more toward assassinating targets from a distance, and will take a contract on assassinating a corrupt official at a discount, depending on how corrupt the official is.

My third thought is a synthesist Human Summoner. His split lineage making him more acceptable for fusion with an outsider, he specializes in Defense. He loves to up enemies and lock down others. His frequent bonding with an outsider has given him a peculiar look on life, and his sense of humor is unique in and of itself.

If any of these interest your friend, let me know and I will post something in a little more detail(thought about posting a paladin, but not sure how well that would go over).

By the way, what level would this be?

I'm interested in joining the group as well, I offer you Grif Hallisp the quiet and noble berserker. He's a Half-elf Barbarian(Invulnerable rager) and built as a tank. Here is his background and everything else can be found on his alias.

Background:
Grif was born to a Gavern family, a Taldan Merchant family that lives in River Kingdoms in the city of Daggermark, the half elf was a grand surprise to Vors Gavern since both he and his wife are both human. Vors initially was going to kill the child, to soothe his anger towards his wife’s cheating heart. Vors was persuaded by his current Captain of his personal guard (Orten Hallisp) who got the merchant to believe that it would he could use the boy as a indentured servant and avoid a discovery of the child’s murder by his customers. Grif’s mother(Xene)agreed to her husbands judgement and begged for him to give her another chance and he accepted as long she never shows love towards Grif which she easily agreed. The half-elf was raised by the servants of the Gavern house and Capt. Orten Hallisp. Throughout his youth Grif worked hard at his jobs around the house and never winced or cried out when he was beaten weekly by Vors and his heirs. Grif enjoyed his work and didn’t mind the beatings after awhile they started not hurting as much. He kept to himself and proved to be a good listener to the other servants especially in listening to Capt. Hallisp’s old war stories. He always tried to protect the other servants by taking there beatings for them, but on one occasion he wasn’t fast enough and saw on the women housekeepers getting hit by Vors eldest boy, Menas, it just set him off. Grif’s vision went red and started beating Menas half to death, until Orten was able to pull young half-elf off. It all went fuzzy for Grif after that the next thing he could remember was Orten taking him north to Brevoy. Orten Hallisp took Grif to Brevoy near the stolen lands, to try to hide him from the Gavern family. As the years past in the outskirts of the forests,Orten trained Grif in fighting and how to survive off the land. They avoided the major cities for awhile, also Orten helped the half-elf control his anger as best he can. He still gets quickly angered when someone picks on a person that has been nice to him. Through the years Orten got older but Grif looked like he wasn’t aging to much. Soon the time came when the old warrior left the world due to old age leaving Grif alone. Grif took up Orten’s weapon and took his last name to honor the man closest to being a father figure to him. Now Grif Hallisp wanders around Brevoy, doing whatever work comes by from manual labor to mercenary work. He never cared for bandits they reminded him of his cruel father whose merchant business funded many criminal groups, and when he found out he could help start a new colony he jumped at it. He decided to take a risk and go to the city to join the expedition.

May I ask when we will get a definite yes or no on entrance? I would also like a bit of feedback on which concept I already stated would be favored so I can build a more comprehensive character for it, along with background and such. Would very much like to participate in this.

--Thanks

Ive been looking at broodmaster and I'm not convinced it's a viable build. So same name/race/concept, but this character is going to be a master summoner. I'll be re-writing it as time permits.

Actually I made a mistake I'm not playing a ranger I am playing a fey bloodline sorcerer.

I would like to throw my proverbial hat into the ring. The character would be a samurai. When he was younger he was trained as an assassin, but during one training session he severely damaged one of his legs. He was unable to continue training as a ninja and was depressed. His grandfather came to him with a present, a samurai sword. He let him know that a shogun was willing to take him on as an apprentice and train him in the ways of the samurai and that his injury would not be a problem. He trained for years and became not only an excellent swordman, but a top notch horseman as well.

To all Gamers Involved... and INTERESTED in being involved....

Welcome! I really appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and eagerness to join the game and offer their suggestions and ideas. Thank you all very much. However, before we continue I should make clear a few basic notes which may either excite, or dissuade you, from playing.

1. The first is that the point buy is NOT 25 points, it is 28 points. This is significantly higher, I am aware, but it is the point I am giving. That, and additional House Rule and what we currently have, can all be found here:

Link to site .

2. We will be starting posting/playing on Sunday the 12th. By then I should have all characters on the board selected and ready to go. You should also be able to find them all on the following link, which I recommend reading over briefly to get a sense of what we have, and what we need.

3. This game is more dedicated to story then combat. There WILL BE combat, don't get me wrong, but story is the way I like to have things run. You can find a set of the basic "house rules" on the site. Most of them detail how we will do experience points. I had thought of doing combat on things like "IM", though that is not set in stone. If more people then less have issues with that, well, we don't have to do it that way.

4. We'll be using rules from the d20pfsrd. Some of these rules are different (like the rules for firearms verses Gunslinger rules). I don't mind if you pick other gear, I appreciate the creativity in fact; just clearify it with me if it is not "core" rules.

5. Each player will be getting a "signature" item from me, as a gift to them. These items will slowly grow in power and are specifically tailored to the player based on how they are buidling their character. As such, knowing their player via backstory helps me help you. I should have those to you soon after I get your backstory.

6. I am generally less interested in "classes" then concepts. I tend to multi-class from time to time, and see no reason players can't do the same if their concept doesn't fit into the traditional "box" of a single class. So the best thing is to suggest "Concepts" rather then straight classes. As such we have a "healer", a "mage" and a "scoundrel" (well, more like a ne'er do well...). Theoretically we may end up having a "James Bond" type character, as well, but I'll find out tonight.

okay... with that in mind, I ask all of you to revist your ideas and make what necessary tweaks you feel best. I apologize for the length of time that took to get back to you all, but I have been a bit busy this week. I will read over ideas and get back to you on Saturday night (the 11th). Signature items should go up by Sunday, and we begin gaming Sunday night.

I look forward to seeing your concepts revisited, and what you will have for me.

I had some time so I threw together an alias for Tessara. Here is her background. She's going to be a ranged combatant who is going to be working towards arcane archer. You can also view her background in this alias's profile along with stats and such. I updated her stats to the 28 point build.

Ok so I suppose that throws out my gunslinger idea. I suppose I'll go with summoner. With no further ado: Letohandrines North-Orlovsky.

Leto's Background:

Duke Darren Orlovsky and his wife Anna were a happy couple, who ruled a small duchy and were mostly at peace with thier lives, until they attempted to have a child. For whatever reason, they could not. This made them extremely sad, and they combed the land for anyone who could turn away this curse and give them an heir.

Many answered the call, priests and wizards, charlatans and alchemists, but none could turn the couple fertile. Eventually a new man came to the Keep, an elven bard with no name. He told the couple that, for the right price, he could give them a child. The excited couple gave the Bard all he asked for, money, jewels, women and more. He, in turn, took the Lady Anna into the forests around the Keep, and was never seen again. The Lady returned cold, pale and terified, babbling incoherently until she lost consciousness. Upon awaking she remembered nothing of the incident, but soon thereafter grew heavy with child. The Duke was delighted, until the child was born.

The baby was healthy and happy, but was born with huge elven eyes and the pointy fey ears that were common to half-elves. Immediately the Duke was furious. How could his wife have a child with an elven stranger? He gave his wife a choice. Keep the baby and take care of it in squalor, or give up the child and remain at his side.

Anna had only married the Duke in order to gain a noble name, and the comforts that came with it, so the choice was an easy one, but Anna made one stipulation. Little Leto would always have a guardian to care for him. The Duke assigned one of his guardsmen to the task.

And so things were until Leto was fourteen years old, when the Duke became fed up. A true heir, Steven, had just been born and the expense of keeping his bastard son protected was vast, and he wasn't willing to do it anymore. He called the court wizard, Roland and asked him to find a solution. Roland was a crafty man, and while he liked the boy, he knew that even with the young half-elf's small natural ability with magic, teaching him wizardry would take many years and be very difficult. So instead Roland came up with a clever plan. He taught Leto a simple ritual, to call his own protector.

Leto summoned a creature he began to call Tabak, who took a form curiously similar to that of his previous guardian, a large man in heavy armor with a huge blade. As an unexpected side effect, the symbol of the house of Orlovsky appeared on his cheek, and the eidolon's chest, when he summoned it.

To Darren this was the last straw, his bastard son openly claiming the Orlovsky name when his true heir was born could be a major problem for him, particularly when the young boy was so charming and had so many friends among the palace staff and guardsmen. Looking and seeing the possibility of civil war in his own duchy, the Duke decided that since his son was now protected, he could easily get him gone. His son was soon given a charter to explore the Stolen Lands.

Leto had little choice, he did not want to cause any problems for his new half-brother, and besides, this place would never be his true home. Leto left, saying goodbye to Roland and his mother, and all of his friends in the keep, and set out toward the Stolen Lands with the others who had received a charter.

And so we go....

That got kinda more awesome than I expected when I started. All right, going with that. Gimme some feedback please.

Regarding Samurai build...

While I appreciate the theory behind this concept, I should add that Samurai are typically born into rather rigid caste systems. Ninja are the normal antithesis of samurai, being mercenaries without honor who kill for money, not duty or discipline.

I know a lot about samurai culture, and don't mind samurai in the game, per se, but if you decide to play one be advised that I would treat a samurai class with close scrutiny.

For example, I cannnot believe a Shogun would approach any character for possible recruitment, though perhaps a local Daimyo might.

In either case, I cannot believe a half-breed would be considered, unless there was a really good reason. Full blooded human, full blooded elf, maybe. Samurai is a heridtary title that is passed down for generations. But I do not think they would even accept you in the family if your mother had been taken by an orc and you were born. Most likely she would have committed sepuku rather then live with the shame of giving birth to a child not fathered by her husband.

Further, it takes a lot to make a samurai, much more then the two swords and a hair cut. Who is your master? Why are you on this quest? You strike me (at most) as a ronnin, not samurai, and they have builds for that. But I can't see how you would be trained as a samurai with that backstor currently.

If you are serious about it, let me know, we can work on it from there, as it is now... not yet.

** spoiler omitted **...

It does not throw out Gunslinger, if you are still intereted. While any character can get pistols (theoretically) the current method of attack is like any other method of attack.

A Gunslinger's natural skill and talent can allow him to use Grit, but also, it can allow a Gunslinger (and ONLY a gunslinger) to use the rules for Gunslingers weapons and ammo in the book. If they choose to do so, it will mean they only need to hit on a range touch attack. Everyone else treats a firearm as a standard "ranged weapon".

I also enjoyed your summoner concept, but don't feel stymied into one idea or the other. Play what you enjoy. If what I just wrote improves your thoughts on Gunslinger, I say go for it. With three traits, rich parents allow you to play Gunslinger with somewhat relative ease.

Regarding "character survey".

Here is the character survey for those of you interested in playing. It is rather long, but no more then what we have all done so far. Please take a look at the other players and note that some of them may seem rather "pimped". This is because they enjoy the benefits of a signature item, which you too can get once I know more about your character.

Character Survey:

Yikes! I should add that if any players wishes to "craft" weapons and ammo, they still need to use the regular rules for "craft" such gear (including prices) found in the Gunsmithing feat. Which means that though ammo prices may have changed, the base "cost" of ammo for building your own and the math involved is designed around origional prices.

Also, a "Gunsmith Kit" weighs 5 lbs.

Not bad... as an ironic twist maybe we could name your gaurdian "Feyd Rautha"? *grins*

Tell me what you prefer; this or the gunslinger and we'll make it work. So far, this seems more appealing, as we already have a player with some guns in the game.

I think I may already have a summoner. Is there anything else you may be interested in playing? Let me know...

I have more ideas floating in my head than I can count. So the short answer is yes.

Off of the top of my head:

Elementalist cleric (fire and air domains) - Has a large scar caused by a traumatic burn on her left face and upper chest. Instead of fearing fire she revered it. The scar doesn't heal with magic.

Staff Magus - Haven't totally worked out the personality, but i want a very Jedi/monk feel to him

Dwarven Dragon disciple- very druid'y bestial when fighting. When possible makes a neckpiece that allows him to use his claws more often (Dm discretion, but preferably at will) May take a level of Barbarian to add the "crazed bezerker" feel to him.

Earth child Dwarf - Either clerice with stone, earth elemental sorcerer, earth oracle, or metal wizard. with the exception of cleric these builds are typically not optimal, so I've never actually seen one played. However I love the idea and would be fun to be able to play.

Any of those sound like they might fit? If so point me in the right direction and I'll come up with good character background and motivations.

Edit: Also I played a radiant servant of Pelor character in a previous edition. It would be fun to build that character again, minus the prestige class of course. He's a very sheltered cleric who isn't traditionally violent, but very protective of his friends.

There is a lot here I may need to fix it a little.

Eh, what the hell, in for a penny, in for a pound. And I was actually asking about a build made by the community as to the gunslinger and I assumed it was out. Either way I believe I'm enjoying Leto's concept more and more, let's see what I can do.

Character Survey:

Where was your character born? Eyrie Keep, ancestral home of the Orlovsky family. Leto has lived more of his life in the surrounding city of Chyormoz.

Who raised him? Mostly Guardsman Padan, who was assigned to guard him. He also had many visits from his mother and knew her well. Later in life Roland, the court Wizard had more input as well

What was happening in the region when your character was growing up? The standard feuding of the families in Brevoy, though much of it was over Leto's head.

Does your character have any relatives? The Orlovsky family, though as a bastard he has little in the way of contact or legitimacy with them.

Motivation

What are your character’s immediate goals? What would he like to do in the coming year? Establish a niche for himself. Leto had fun in the Eyrie and enjoyed his friends there, but ugly looks from his father and problems with legitimacy has kept him from finding any sort of very close friend until Tabak was called.

What are her long-term goals? To establish his own legitimacy, or possibly begin his own noble house. More importantly, to convince his previous family that he has no designs on taking anything from his half-brother Steven.

What type of person would be his ideal mate? Leto has so far had very little in the way of thoughts about the opposite sex, though that's likely to change within the first year or two.

Who is his patron deity? Is he a devout worshiper? Desna, and Leto knows little of the church, but the god's goodness and chaotic nature are similar to his. He believes the bard from his tale may be a servant or creature of hers, though he fears the answer may be darker.

Is he a devout member of any nonreligious cause? Not particularly

Is there any race, creed, alignment, religion or the like against which he is strongly prejudiced? Leto wishes very much to get in touch with his elven half, which is difficult in Brevoy. He also has only heard stories of many other races and believes half-orcs to be brutes and scoundrels.

What is his greatest fear? That, driven by his worries and groundless fears, his father might believe he needs to die, and directly or indirectly be involved in such a death.

What is the one task he absolutely refuses to do? Kill or enslave an innocent creature. He would rather die.

Idiosyncrasies

What is your character’s motto or favorite saying? Leto is often heard whispering his family motto "High Above" though generally under his breath to avoid anyone connecting him to a name he has no true right to.

What is his favorite color? Deep blue

Describe what he would wear if money were no object? Likely an odd hodgepodge. Leto has very little fashion sense, though his outfits tend to look rather good on him regardless.

What is his favorite food? Drink? Leto loves oysters, he used to sneak them from the table in the Eyrie. He also enjoys elven wine, which he's only had once.

What is his favorite animal? He once had a cat, and he'd like another. Though he has heard of these weird creatures called Carbuncles.

What habits of his friends annoy him most? He hates drunks, as well as those who are uncaring when someone or something is hurt. Anything else will have to find when he meets them

Generosity 7
Sobriety 10

Miscellaneous

What well-known media figure from sports, movies or politics most closely resembles your character? Jim Hawking of Outlaw Star

What would be his theme song? I Feel So - Boxcar Racer

If his friends were to write his epitaph, what would it be? Here lies Leto, who died saving his true family.

What would be his job in modern society? Still in school, likely for some form of art, like graphic design.

Introduction Questions

Do you have any nicknames, street names, titles, or aliases? Leto was sometimes called "Little Hawk" by his teachers.

What is your full birth name? Letohandrines Valerik North

Where do you live? Currently homeless

Why do you live there? Because he was given the option of that or the dungeon when he was told to leave the Eyrie

What is your citizenship status? Proud citizen of Brevoy

What is your most obvious blessing or strength? His cleverness and way with people, as well as this big guy behind him.

What is your most obvious flaw or weakness? His youth, inexperience and naivete.

Was there any event or cause to cause these weaknesses? Being rather sheltered.

Physical Traits

What is your general body type, frame, bone structure, and poise? Leto has always avoided drawing attention and so seems of average height and slight build. In truth he slouches quite a bit and is quite tall, with a larger build than seems immediately.

What is your skin colour? A very light bronze

What is your hair colour? Dark brown, flowing in slight curls

What is your hairstyle? He generally pulls it back into a ponytail for practicality, though he lets it down when he is trying to show off

Do you have any facial hair? None, it just doesn't seem to grow

What is your eye colour? Bright, Forest green, large and elven looking

Does it change? No

How attractive are you? Quite to extremely

What is your most distinguishing feature? His eyes or his bright blue Orlovsky mark on his cheekbone when he summons Tabak

Do you have any scars, tattoos, or birthmarks? Orlovsky symbol when eidolon summoned. Otherwise no.

What is your handedness (left/right)? Right

Do you resemble some currently known person? Can't think of any

Do you wear a uniform? No

What kind of clothing do you wear? Mismatched, brightly colored, yet somehow slightly charming. He wears whatever catches his eye.

What is your clothing's style or level of sophistication? Varying, though slightly higher end.

What sort of vocal tone do you have? Leto, to his current extreme annoyance, sounds quite young, and much like an excited child most of the time.

Do you get sick? Maybe you catch the flu twice a year and that's it? Or maybe you have a weak immune system and catch anything that goes around? Leto does not have the best immune system and frequently catches colds and the like when not attempting to avoid them.

History

Where is your homeland? Leto is a proud native of Brevoy

What are its people like? Warlike and scheming. Fairly opposite of him.

Are you aware of its history? Leto is well educated and very aware of history.

Are you patriotic or a social outcast? Leto is extremely patriotic and mostly accepted by many.

What are your opinions of home? Fond remembrance

Did you witness any historical events? No

Are your real reasons for becoming an adventurer different from what you tell others? He generally claims he simply wished to adventure, as most don't know his Orlovsky heritage.

How do you feel about other races? Most looked at with wonder, especially elves, slight disdain for Half-orcs.

Were there any traumatic experiences in your early years (death of a family member, abandonment, orphaned at an early age, etc.)? Leto constantly struggles with his mothers infidelity and the fact that he doesn't know his father.

Did you have any childhood friends? Very little his own age, but many of the palace staff and guards.

Are you still close to them or have you grown apart? Leto is still very close to many of them, though leaving may impact that.

Which toys from your childhood have you kept? A set of cards given to him by Roland to increase his dexterity.

What conflicts might arise from your past? Parents, brother, previous teachers, mysterious father... take your pick DM

Do you have any sort of criminal record? None, though he is a bit of a prankster

Family

Who were your parents? Darren and Anna Orlovsky

Were you raised by them? Some by mother, but more by teachers.

What did your parents and/or foster parents do for a living? Duke and Duchess

What was their standing in the community? Duke and Duchess

Did your family stay in one area or move around a lot? Before beginning this journey he had never traveled more than 5 miles from the Eyrie

How did you get along with your parents? Fairly with mother, Father ignored me.

How would your parents describe you? Father as a disgrace and possibly a danger. Mother as a boy she loved and wishes she could keep closer, but is proud of anyway.

Are any or all of your family still alive? Most all

Personality/Beliefs

Do you, or did you, have any role models? Many. From the staff Leto learned to fight, do magic and tell a story. From his father he learned the iron rod of command, and how to be a leader. From his mother he learned the nicer sides of leadership, from banquets to diplomacy.

Do you have any great rational or irrational fears or phobias? Leto is terrified he is the spawn of some kind of Demon or Devil. He also hates frogs. Creepy slimy little things.

What, if anything, would it take for you to be able to overcome this? To learn the truth. And nothing for frogs... damn things are so ugly.

How do you react when this fear manifests itself? With disgust and extremely not wanting to touch them.

Are you willing to discuss, or even admit to, the situation? Very reluctant about frogs. Never discusses his fears regarding his heritage.

What are your attitudes regarding material wealth? Extremely useful, but not a goal in itself.

Are you miserly with your share of the wealth, or do you spend it freely? Very freely... money burns a hole in his pocket.

Are you greedy or generous? Rather generous, he enjoys being liked.

Do you see wealth as a mark of success, or just as a means to an end? Means to an end. Though what end isn't set in stone yet.

How do you generally treat others? Cheeky, but overall extremely nice and caring.

Do you trust easily (perhaps too easily) or not? Extremely easily

Are you introverted (shy and withdrawn) or extroverted (outgoing)? Introverted among members of nobility, though he is extremely happy to mingle with others.

Are you a humble soul or blusteringly proud? Leto tells of his exploits whenever he can, with varying degrees of exaggeration.

Do you act differently than you feel (concealing your true thoughts)? Leto does not do this often.

What is your favourite type of animal? Cats... cute and fierce.

Is there anything that enrages you? Mistreatment of those in your protection. A leader exists to protect his people.

Do you enjoy "roughing it", or do you prefer your creature comforts? Roughing it is currently an interesting new thing for him, once the charm wears off he's unlikely to enjoy it as much.

What would you do if something were stolen from you? Depending on it's personal value. High personal value I would find and get it back, punishing the thief if I believed he deserved it. Low personal value, Leto would shake it off and deal with it... it's a shame but nothing that can't be replaced.

What would you do if you were badly insulted publicly? Likely come back with something witty and cutting to tear down my assailant.

What do you consider to be the worst crime someone could commit and why? As stated, mistreatment of those who depend on you.

Do you support the current government of your homeland? Leto would prefer it to be a bit more stable.

What form of government do you believe is the best (democracy, monarchy, anarchy, aristocratic rule, oligarchy, matriarchy) and why? Leto believes in the aristocracy from habit, would likely want a democracy if he were ever forced to think on it.

Have you ever been persecuted for your political stance? Leto has never had much of a stance so no.

Do you have any unusual or nervous mannerisms, such as when talking, thinking, afraid, under stress, or when embarrassed? Leto tends to pace, especially when nervous or explaining something. He unconsciously mimics Roland the wizard and falls into textbook dry speaking when he is reciting things he has learned. He often rubs his mark when he's thinking of his eidolon or his family.

What is your most treasured possession? A scrap of painting, stolen from a rubbish bin. The painter had captured the banquet in which his elven father had showed himself. Even when the Duke bought and destroyed the painting Leto treasures this scrap that shows half of his true fathers face.

Do you have a good luck charm? The family words seem to be lucky for Leto

Do you prefer to tear down or build up? Most certainly build up.

Are you deliberate or spontaneous? Youthfully spontaneous. Sometimes foolishly so.

Do you prefer the town or the country? Cities. That's where you find the people.

If made to decide, would you rather be deaf or blind? Why? Blind. Your eyes may decieve you, but a true man knows the secret is in listening to others, not seeing them. He learned that from Guardsman Padan.

Describe your worst nightmares. Leto has a recurring nightmare in which his father pronounces him a threat to young Steven and runs him through with the family blade. Duke Darren then turns into Leto's elven father and laughs, telling Leto that his brothers are waiting for him and dropping the boys now run-through body to be eaten by demons.

Jeez... that took forever.

** spoiler omitted **...

Not bad... as an ironic twist maybe we could name your gaurdian "Feyd Rautha"? *grins*

Tell me what you prefer; this or the gunslinger and we'll make it work. So far, this seems more appealing, as we already have a player with some guns in the game.

Nah, I decided it sounded like an idealistic young guys name lol. I'm actually better with this concept. And stop teasing I'm re-reading Dune and the two (and only 2) sequels.

Hey guys I am one of the preselected. Here is my character for the game for reference.

Very cool... by Jedi do you mean like a "Force Adapt" or a Sith. Or... do you mean it more like a Zen-like philosophical ideology? Just curious... Fire/Air cleric works too... we could ALWAYS use more healing...

By "Jedi" I'm referring to more of a force adept concept. It would have elements of the jedi philosophy minus the hierarchy.

For the fire/air cleric his healing would be themantic. His channel energy ability would look like a wave of white hot flame and feel slightly warm (though not have any mechanical differences). Plus he's have some blasting ability even though he's a full cleric.
Fire was only given negative connotations by christianity when it connected it to hell. Previous to that fire was seen as a good thing. Hearth, heat, etc. This cleric has that same view and it's part of her religious teachings.

So which sounds better? I'll flesh out whichever one the DM/Players like better. However, as always DM has final call. ;-)

Edit: of course for the "jedi" shocking grasp and telekenesis are a must. I suppose I could go black blade to make it more "jedi-Esque" Hummm...

Oh, and I've played the fire cleric in a one shot before. She's simultaneously Healy, Blasty, Druidy, Shamany.

I don't know what the party consists of so any feedback would be appreciated.

Wow, now I'm in a condundrum. I want to see Jedi, and almost built my own version in a friend's game. But then, we could use a cleric. Either way, your call, I'll back you either way at this point. I like the moxy!

So.... May I assume I have a slot? I'd like to finish building my character, and if you wouldn't mind it would be nice to see what special item I get. *Excited*

I think I'm going to have to go with the cleric. I'd love to research and play the Magus, but I have a paper due tomorrow and won't have time to research and build the character. Im familiar enough with the cleric class that I can build it pretty quickly. The cutoff date is Saturday night, right? The character survey alone is going to take some time to come up with.

Edit: I've never played a magus.

Ok, this was really hard as there were a lot of really good submissions, so hard that i decided to take an extra person into the group. To those that didnt make it I really enjoyed reading your submissions and if a spot opens up I will be happy to have you resubmit a character.

Now as for the group, here it is:

Alaric Winter (Preselcted) Sorcerer,

Ry (Preselected) Druid,

Tessara (New) Ranger,

Smendor (New) Fighter,

Leto (New) Summoner,

Tiny Cofee Golem (New) Jedi/Cleric or Staff Magus/Cleric

I myself will be playing an NPC, named Brett. But he will be a supporting player mainly, now that we have a crew.

The plan is to start playing by Sunday night. You each will be getting a "signature item" forwarded on to your character soon. Once I see your backstory and characters posted you're on board, and I will have your item to you in a day or so. The hope is we will start on Sunday. Check out this link here for the game.

Huzzah, should be able to get Leto done tonight or early tomorrow. *Skips off to work on character*

PS: Just so I get it, only change in building is 3 traits, 28 point buy right?

Yay! I made it! In actuality I wasn't planning on multiclassing. My original idea was either Staff magus (jedi) OR Fire cleric. Although now that you mention it I could incorporate both to a degree. Staff magus/cleric could be a badass combo with the personality of a Jedi could be really badass. Hummm. Too bad Mystic theurge only increases caster level. *brain wheels turning*

I like a challenge. I'm going to go with the Staff Magus with a Jedi feel. He may dip a level or two into monk at later levels. We'll see how the build goes.

Does that still work of was my acceptance based on the Cleric idea? If so then I'll go Cleric (fire/air) who uses a staff as a primary weapon and He may take a dip into fighter or ranger for added flavor.

Oh, and to simplify things, please re-post your "final characters" on the formal site once they are finished. I say final, since I may need to go over them, and make some changes once you get your "signature items".

Okay, that's all I got to say about that...

peace
