Is it possible to cure ability damage as a word caster?

Rules Questions

I'm trying to familiarize myself with the Words of Power rules from Ultimate Magic. While I think I mostly understand the system, there seem to be a few important spells it can't yet replicate. The ones that are jumping out at me are Restoration and its greater and lesser variants. Purify (a level 4 word) removes negative levels, but I can't find any means to cure ability drain/damage as a word caster. Am I overlooking something?

There isn't any. Part of the reason that word magic was abandoned for formulaic magic is that it is more limited in absolute effects.

That's too bad. I was beginning to like the variant system. Perhaps it will could be an option in a party where most of the bases are already covered, spell-wise.

Becoming a Wordcaster
When a character gains the ability to cast spells from a class,
he must decide whether to become a wordcaster or a normal
spellcaster in that class. Once made, this choice cannot
be changed. A character who elects to be a wordcaster in a
spellcasting class typically cannot use the spells of that class
(though there are feats that allow a wordcaster to learn and
use a limited number of spells; see the sidebar on page 166),
but he can utilize spell trigger and spell completion items
just as if he were an ordinary spellcaster of that class
.

It's no big deal, you just need to buy some scrolls and keep them in a secure spot for those situations where you need to do things you can't do with words. Or wands. Or staffs.
