When you arrive in camp you are beset by a group of goblins... Can everyone please roll initiative.
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22


Muugru scans the camp and sees nothing out of the ordinary. "Hrmm. This not right. This either trap or him stupid. No one camp alone and sleep with fire burning letting others like us know where to find him. Unless maybe him dead already? You want me to poke him to see if him awake? Or should me look around the edges of camp looking for ambushers?"

EDIT: Whoops, looks like you posted the goblin attack just as I was posting this.


When the goblins jump out, Muugru says "Me knew it was trap! Stupid goblins!"

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21


Grey nods acknowledging Heshlem's actions and moves towards the fellow on the ground seeking to aid him. When the Goblins burst forth from the underbrush Grey reacts,

(-_-) Slowly, fumbling with something beneath his robes.

SO, drawing a weapon, when Grey can... :P

Knowledge(Nature): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Stooping down to take a look at the tracks, it takes him a moment to recognize what they are. Jumping back up he shouts out, "AMBUSH!" just as he hears Mugruu shout out. Reaching for his bow, he takes a quick look to try and tally their attackers.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Always love having a great initiative mod and rolling low. :)


Kyras you are able to see 8 goblins rush toward the camp.


"Guess that means there's no time to eat!"

Zan begins pulling small vials and bottles from the pouches hanging at his waist, making ready to mix them together...

Pulling a smallish, grey metal object from beneath his robes Grey calls out,

"Flee! Lest ye invoke the wrath of Razimir!" And he brings said item to bear upon the nearest threatening Goblin.

Male Halfling 1 Gunslinger

Dex 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Still holding as the rear guard, Frizzen sees the sudden eruption of activity and brings his musket to bare on the largest of the goblins. Bringing the weapon to his cheek his breathing falls into the praticed rhythm of the marksman. Bringing his thumb to the cock he clicks it back into place and prepares to fire.


Although I did envision Muugru approaching the camp with his Earthbreaker in hand, I guess I did not communicate it :)

Male Half-Orc Monk level 1

For anyone who rolled a 10 or higher on your dex rolls you were able to get your weapons ready before the goblins befall you. For everyone else you will have to retrieve your weapons during your first round of combat.
So the way combat will work from here on out is you can all post your actions and rolls at anytime and they will just happen when your turn comes.
The first goblin sees Muugru and charges in a bit recklessly with his battleaxe at the ready he strikes.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
If hit: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The second goblin runs toward Heshlem with light mace drawn
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

The third goblin sees Grey fumbling for something under his cloak and charges with short sword at the ready.

The fourth goblin sees Kyras and eager to eat the pups charges in rather recklessly with battle axe drawn.

The fifth goblin see Zan and thinks him a very small dwarf and attacks with short sword.

The sixth goblin sees Frizzen with a shiny stick and decides a stick won't hurt and charges him with light mace drawn.

The seventh goblin takes aim at Muugru with his short bow.

Male Halfling 1 Gunslinger

I was holding up as a rear guard.How far off are the goblins? I'll need to know some character placement and distance so I know if I need to burn a point of Grit to extend my range increment for touch ac attack.

Seeing the little brute charge him, Frizzen quickly adjust his aim and opens fire on the foul little beast. He grins as the flint makes contact with frizzen, showering the priming pan in sparks. The musket roars to life in a thundering storm of fire and smoke.

Grey watches the Goblin pretty much fall on its face in front of him and sighs, (The Goblin rolled a natural one on both attack and damage rolls!)

"Do you want a hand getting up? Then we can sort of start again, properly like. That way, no one will notice." Grey offers a hand, while getting his weapon out.

Annoyed at being engaged by so many goblins, including a caster, Muugru swings his maul in a wild, fierce arc while muttering incomprehensible orcish curses. Having been easily missed by a goblin swinging a battleaxe and an archer's arrow, Muugru glares angrily at the archer while bringing his earthbreaker down rapidly on the goblin in front of him.

Muugru rages, and attempts to hit goblin #1 with a power attack.

Melee attack - earthbreaker: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 (+1 BAB, +7 Str, +1 Bless, -1 Power Attack)
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 5) + 10 = 21

Edit:

Critical Hit Confirmation: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Critical Hit Damage:
2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 5) + 10 = 20
2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 5) + 10 = 17

Mugruu grins a very satisfying grin as he showers everyone with the goblin's blood and bones. Muugru then charges straight for the archer, while shouting, "More Blood for the Blood God!"

Muugru moves up to 40' next to the archer, ignoring any other goblins and their attacks of opportunity he might draw.

The farthest is roughly 40 feet away while the closest is now in melee range.

Just a suggestion, but if you want to be able to show and use tactical combat then a "cheap and quick" battlemap is to use a Google docs spreadsheet.

Here is a sample I prepared of our given combat. This allows for people to say which grid coordinate they are moving to.

I'm fine with using my imagination too, but I just wanted to let you know of this quick option.

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Finishing unslinging his bow, Kyras quickly grabs an arrow, nocks, draws, and looses at the goblin charging in.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

In his haste, he loosed before he had the bow fully raised and the arrow sinks into the ground in front of the goblin.

Cursing he starts to reach over his shoulder to draw his sword to engage.


Zan fumbles with his vials, but the goblin reaches him first and swings wildly up toward him, barely missing him as he sits upon his stout little pony.
The pony however, is likely not battle trained and as Zanfoodle knows he has little chance of controlling the beast in combat, he quickly dismounts. Move action, does not provoke

Now on the ground adjacent to the goblin, Zan realizes he has no time to grab a dagger or move away, so he tries to defensively access one of his innate gnome abilities to use against the goblin.
Cast Defensively vs DC17 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Casting Produce Flame, standard action, may attempt to touch the target as a free action.

Zanfoodle's small hand ignites in flames and he screams a gnomish war cry as he attempts to strike the goblin with his flaming fist!

Melee touch attack at +2 (+1 for Bless, +1 for gnomish hatred)
Attack roll 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
If hit by the touch attack, the goblin takes 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 fire damage.

The speed of the little green man catches Heshlem off guard and he can not react in time. He is bleeding heavily from the mace's blow. Not saying a word, he simply decide to retaliate.

Swift Action: Activates judgement,

Healing:
The inquisitor is surrounded by a healing light, gaining fast healing 1. This causes the inquisitor to heal 1 point of damage each round as long as the inquisitor is alive and the judgment lasts. The amount of healing increases by 1 point for every three inquisitor levels she possesses.

Move Action: draws great axe
Standard Action: Attacks goblin that just attacked him.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Recap of the First round of combat:
You were ambushed by a group of 8 goblins which didn't have a suprize round due to Kyras' split second warning. While most of the goblins missed with their attacks, Heshlem was hit. Muurgu being upset at 2 goblins attacking him brings his earthshaker down upon the head of the goblin in melee range and flattens him like a pancake. Frizzen lining up his shot fired his musket and the shot rang true and the goblin now has a ball stuck in his shoulder with which he swung his weapon and you can see blood starting to stain the goblin's leather armor. Zan threw flames at his goblin, but managed to catch the grass on fire around the goblin, but missing the goblin altogether. Kyras lets loose an arrow that lands just in front of his goblin. Heshlem begins to give off an aura and his wounds begin to close slightly then with his paladin sword cleaves the goblin in front of him in half.

Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3) + 10 = 18

Assuming that this hits and kills him, Muugru will then charge the caster that is casting spells at his boss. If the archer is still alive, then instead this attack will be against him, less the +2 for charging.

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Struggling to accomplish too much at once, Kyras fails to avoid the goblins swing opening up a long gash across his chest. However, he finally gets his sword free bringing it down and across at the goblin.

Lets hope the dice decide to like me. Haven't all day so far.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Hopefully that will do.

Seeing the Goblin get up and take a swing, Grey sighs as he pulls the item from beneath his robes.

"Razmir's MIGHT!" He declares as he points said object at said Goblin.

Ranged Touch attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

"K-BLAM!"

As the metal item makes a thunderous noise, a puff of smoke and a puff of dirt besides the Goblin.

Bugger, missed. At least the little bugger should be startled. =)


Male Halfling 1 Gunslinger

Drawing his tomahawk from his belt,Frizzen makes ahard swing at the little beastie looking finish him off.

Move action draw weapon, standard to attack.No way that hit,haha.

Axe 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6


Zanfoodle, now bleeding freely from a deep cut across hit torso, looks at the area around the goblin with a gaze filled with desperation. He knows he could light the little bugger up with one of his incendiary bombs, but he would his is companion Grey in the process.
Zan has no wish to harm his companion and knows that with one more well-placed strike the monster could do him in.

Zan takes a 5' step away from the goblin, retrieves a small vial from a belt pouch(move action), and drinks it, letting its healing powers take effect.

Cure Light Wounds 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

HP after healing = 7

Whoops, I just noticed I have not been applying my power attack damage bonus to my weapon damage. Add another +3 to the damage for a total of 21 damage to the archer (#7). Since he has no shield I am going to assume I hit AC 15, and am going to count him as dead on the map (let me know if he is not). If the caster is hit with AC 13, then he takes 17 damage.


Male Half-Orc Monk level 1

Kyras you finish off your goblin with one slice of your sword. Muugru once again with a fowl swoop you crack your goblin's head open killing him instantly. Grey your thunderstick startles your goblin as the ball shoots right past his ear, as a result your goblin is deafened for 2 rounds.

In a rage Muugru also kills the caster with one shot right to the right temple.

The remaining 2 goblins become very scared of Muugru and begin to flee they take their movement to try and escape this bloodbath.


"By Razmir's POWER!" Grey cries and uses his 'Thunder' stick once again.

Att Roll(Ranged Touch Att):1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

"K-Blam!"

Dam Roll:1d8 ⇒ 4

Though the shoulders of the robe do seem to slump slightly as Razmir's power doesn't seem to want to shoot straight today... :P


Enraged by the assault and upset that he let his boss get attacked, Muugru will take a quick glance at Heshlem to ensure there are no immediate threats to him and he will then instictively chase after the fleeing goblins, shouting "More Blood for the Blood God!"

After 2 rounds of running (note base speed is 40') if Muugru has caught up to one he will attack it, otherwise he will end his rage and break off the pursuit. In case he does catch up to one:

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 3) + 13 = 19 (power attack & rage)

Muugru you do catch up to the two fleeing goblins chasing them down one at a time and with a blow to their legs to stop them from running and a crushing blow to their skulls you kill them both.


Muugru looks down at the corpses and appears quite pleased. With each hand, Muugru grabs the goblins by the their necks hand and drags them back to the camp. He throws them at the feet of Heshlem, "Two more to loot".

While the others tend to wounds, loot the bodies, and encounter the person at the campsite, Muugru will walk around the camp's perimeter keeping an eye out for any more threats and will attempt to look for the goblin's tracks to determine which direction they came from.

Survival check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Perception check (if needed): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

You are able to follow the tracks, but they end abruptly as if the goblins came out of nowhere. As best you can tell all the trouble has passed.


Even though Heshlem is injured badly he feels he can survive and decides to see if he can do anything for the injured man.
He ask "Do any of you have the ability to heal people"
Heal Check:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

An aid another might make sure we make the heal check to help the injured man, if he can be save.

edit:Heshlem thanks Muugru, and informs him that he will check the goblins if nobody does it before he determines the status of the original victim.


Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

With the goblins dead or run off with the big half-orc chasing them, Kyras cleans his blade off, sheathes it, and assesses the rest of the party. "Good to see everyone still here. That was rather odd, I hadn't seen any sign that they might be about. Wonder if they were a roving band or some such."

"I know only the basics and don't have a kit but..."

Heal(assist): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

On Mugruu's return, "See sign of anymore?"

Once wounds are checked, Kyras will search the corpses.

Take 20if possible: 28
otherwise Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17


Male Half-Orc Monk level 1

Kyras you and Heshlem are able to stablize the dying man, and you see his breathing begin to lighten to some extent, but you aren't sure if he will make it through the night.
As you begin to search the bodies you notice on the mage:
1 potion of barkskin, 15s, a chipped gem of some sort, 1 potion of cure light wounds.
On the melee characters you notice their simple weapons that are chipped and dented, as well as 1 masterwork battleaxe.
On the ranged goblin: you find a simple shortbow, 20 arrows, and what Zan notices are 2 viles of spidervenom.
You find little else to help you decipher where this band of goblins actually came from, or of what clan they belong.


Grey puts their noise maker away beneath their robes. At Heshlem's comment he says,

"I can ask for Razmir's guidance in healing some of the wounds." And, so saying, Grey walks over kneels beside the wounded man and invokes the power of his faith.

"I call upon the fortune of Razmir! I seek the mighty Razmir's favor! Feel the power that is Razmir come itno your body and take away your pain!" Grey calls out loudly as he beseeches his god to give a boon to the wounded man.

Cure Light Wounds:1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

And as only a small effect manifest Grey sags,

"I..am sorry, but using too many of Razmir's gifts has taken its toll upon me..." Grey says softly, standing shakily and moves to a place where he might sit and recover.

Bluff:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21(To show the drain that grey feels (^_~)
