Warlock class for Pathfinder

Has paizo considered the conversion of a Warlock class for Pathfinder or is it against the OGL? :(

Warlock from the Complete Arcane? Not ogl, therefore can't be used. ;)

Warlock from Tome of Secrets? ogl but is made by a 3rd party publisher...

I did had this thought at one time that as some sort of "cross-company-collabrative-reward", maybe PFS can incorporate some limited 3rd party stuff (such as Dreamscarred psionics stuff, PF Freeport extra classes, etc.) into the PFS program, but that sort of thing doesn't seem to be in the horizon anyhow for the folks over at Paizo- not with all those full plates of stuff to be done that Paizo's got to deal with and stuff (they're busy folk). ;)

P.S. Alot of the casters can have unlimited 0 level spellcastings. If that doesn't do it for you, maybe the APG Alchemist might be something you'd want to take a look at?

This.

In a lot of ways the basic idea behind the Warlock and the Alchemist is similar. ie a base form of damage unrelated to their utility spells. You could even go as far as house-ruling the effects such as making the mutagens as some form of 'unholy' fiend form.

When the advanced player's guide was released and had the Witch class in it, I figured that was their answer to the Warlock. Maybe not so much like the 3.5 warlock, but somewhat similar to the 4th edition Warlock (forgive me for bringing up 4th edition) in that its an arcane caster who makes a pact with an otherworldly entity of some sort and gains power from it. Of course, Witches cast off of Intelligence, whereas every other form of Warlock has been off of Charisma. It's not a perfect match, but I think that's probably the closest to a "Warlock" Pathfinder will get (perhaps i'll be proven wrong?)

There are a couple of reasons why the Warlock is not permitted for use in Ptahfinder Society.

Unfortunately the Warlock is not part of the OGL, it is closed content created by Wizards of the Coast. Paizo cannot "reproduce" the class in any manner which would make it recognizable as the original class lest they set off WoTC's lawyer's copyright infringement radar and get sued.

Secondly, while Pathfinder is officially backwards compatible with 3.5, PFS only permits certain Pathfinder products produced by Paizo (how's that for alliteration?). The complete list of permitted options can be found here. You will note that the list includes absolutely no third party products or old 3.5 products from WoTC.

Your best option, as has already been stated, is to play an Alchemist or perhaps try out the Magus playtest (yes I realize it's not exactly the same, but neither is the Alchemist).

Moved to the general PFRPG forum, as this isn't a PFS-specific question.

The Warlock was the perfect class for people who didn't care about any micromanage-y stuff, but still wanted to play something non-Fighter-y. That's what Pathfinder is really missing, IMO anyway.
