Deeds shouldn't be set. The developers should make MORE of them, and then allow us to choose which ones we want at level increments. This avoids the cookie cutter gunslinger problem.
I've seen enough people bring it up that I think it warrants its own discussion thread, something the developers can easily find.
The big thing is making DEEDS Like talents, Discoveries, Tricks, Rage powers etc... is just that they've done it so much, SO MUCH.
And they should use it MORE. It's an elegant system. If they want to expand a class, they only need to make more discoveries, tricks, rage powers, talents, or deeds.
The way it is written, expansion possibilities become MUCH more limited. You end up stuck with a whole bunch of archetypes and similar variant rules which likely come with a bunch of abilities you didn't want.
DISCUSS.

in the other thread stephen DID have a point that by giving them ALL to us at certain levels, that the non combat deeds would get used.
my answer to that is make those ones class abilities.
im going to say im in favor of deeds like tricks and rage powers because its an established customization mechanic.

So whats the difference between combat Deeds, and feats?
Going with your suggestion that The non-combat deeds should be class abilities.
IMO the theory behind them having access to all the deeds is, those are in theory what gunslingers can do, gunslingers can shoot objects to do certain things, attack specific body parts, shoot someone multiple times in the same spot.
Remember the intent of this class is to be a gunslinger, if you want Rambo use fighter.

+1
I actually like what they're doing with Grit, my only gripe is give us more. Using the elite array or point buy, you'll get like 1-2 per day, which is pathetic.
