Revolver question

Gunslinger Discussion: Round 2

Liberty's Edge

A revolver is cheaper than a pistol? Seriously? Why bother with the pistol... even in PFS, a Gunslinger could replace his pistol for a revolver after two scenarios and never have a misfire again. And have 6 shots before reload. Is this a misprint?

Check both the playtest rules (Firearms in your Campaign sidebar, page 3), and Mark's post (PFS uses the Emerging Guns campaign) in the PFS forums.

Advanced Firearms are not going to be legal in PFS, so no revolver, rifle or shotgun.

Also, someone worked out the pricing differences for pistol vs revolver depending on campaign style, and the only time the revolver is actually cheaper is when you reach the Guns Everywhere campaign.

IF any Advanced Firearms become available in PFS, it would almost certainly be only through a Chronicle Sheet for a scenario set in Alkenstar, and probably have a bunch of requirements in the scenario to qualify for, in addition to just being a Gunslinger.

Reading further, I noticed that revolvers are "advanced firearms" and are treated as "rare and wondrous items." Does this raise the assumed cost?

you can come up with plenty of reasons to do so, but as is, no, a Cloak of Resistance is a "rare and wonderous item" that every adventurer and their Scorpion familiar has, cause y'know, it's good at what it does: Revolvers are good at shooting things multiple times, Cloaks of Resistance making you good at not dieing to your scorpion familiar because you're making it wear a hand-me-down cloak that you stole from some dead orc.

all-in-all, 750g IF you can find someone with it, i'd say maybe multiply the cost of the item by 100 to determine the random chance that it's in the town (making only really big towns to have a chance of having one somewhere), making it a Rare comodity, but it's not all that expensive.

like Philtrum's of Love or whatever, those potions of Super Charm person that don't seem to offer a save, they're not expensive, but they CAN be useful.

Still wait for a Pathfinder Modern, book.

So i can get a semi-automatic, and mow down the Dragons with Touch Ac 5 attacks :) hehe

What Callarek said is true, they listed the Advanced Weapon, for people to get an idea of the far end scope of advanced weapons are like, while at the same time, they do not really want us to play-test those Advance Weapon out, because they will not be used in the Campaign setting.

The weapon are set in stone.

They want more play-test on the Gunslinger class

At least that is the jest of it, i have read, understanding, and getting.
