Deity Favored weapons

Do non- cleric classes get any advantage with a chosen deities favored weapon?

Searched but couldn't find and answers. If class matters I'm a halfling cavalier.

Scarab Sages

No, the benefit is listed under Weapon and Armor Proficiencies in the description of a class's features. Inquisitors also gain the weapon proficiency of their deity's favored weapon.

Thanks, that's what I kind of figured, but I just wanted to check.

There's no reason someone couldn't write a specific game ability tied to the favoured weapon of a character's deity. For instance (and I'm sure there are better examples), if a non-cleric character finds a way to cast spiritual weapon, the weapon's statistics depend on his deity. It doesn't give an immediate general benefit, though.

Minor little boost- why not ask your DM for a trait... faithful or something, to give you proficiency with your chosen deity's weapon as long as remain a faithful worshiper (similar restrictions as with clerics, such as can only be one step off on alignment and such).
