EDIT: switched over to a Twitch streamer I've never heard of watching the thing and I have zero regrets. So much better.
It was the Internet! The commercials were just super-obnoxious, regardless.

Haven't chugged it yet. Before today, I'd been limiting myself to one 12oz cup of coffee in the morning, and I'd cut my sugar intake down to about 1/3 of what it was a year ago. So I'm above my usual refined sugar and caffeine levels already, and I feel fantastic. And I can hear it calling to me.

No, made my Will saves. I constantly crave sugar and caffeine (and sleep), but I'm usually good at resisting. Doesn't stop the cravings, though, or deprogram the mis-learned food/drink behaviors that imprinted them.

edit - And I 100% expect the sea level rise to be much worse than what this is saying.

The game flow feels worse than in the previous games, though the game is worth playing for the character development. Also, LAZERS!
We're still on the stupid frozen moon, still dealing with the stupid oxygen mechanic. Maybe 5-6 hours in, tops.
Borderlands 1 and 2 were fun because you wandered around upgrading your weapons, sneaking into enemy bases, and shooting guys.
Borderlands the Pre-Sequel is basically a platformer: Wander around the maze-like, poorly-implemented map to try to figure out the route from point A to point B before you run out of oxygen. Do many, many jumps over lava in your car (I died 5 times last night from bad jumps, and Shiro and GothBard died twice). Fight nothing most of the time, then fight extreme swarms of bad guys until all 3 of you run out of ammo. Find out that at level 7 you're still using your original guns because not a single drop has been an upgrade. (We even used 3 golden keys and none of the loot upgraded our existing gear.)
So, extremely bad design combined with bad mechanics (I played the claptrap and I was the only one who ever used his ult, much to the irritation of my companions) led to us just abandoning it.
Sound like a lot of bad luck with the loot :(

I am not a fan of games with a luck mechanic. It's causing problems for me in battletech.

What's worrying me is infrastructure... all of our major airports, shipping ports, subway systems, rail lines, and coastal highways on three coasts will be either underwater or seriously disrupted.

I'm going to go look at a used bike this morning. If it's not completely janky, I'll have something to ride with the kids. They're wanting to be able to ride their bikes to school instead of drive, and I don't blame them. It's only two and a half miles.
A certain social media app that will remain nameless to avoid irritating Freehold has been reminding me daily of the turmoil I was going through a year ago, trying to get the house in California packed up, and ugly-crying on the floor a lot. And I'm sitting here on my couch with my coffee in my as-together-as-it's-going-to-get life reading it and thinking, "you poor bastard. but, hey, look, it got better."

Wow...
...So, we all know that the currency exchange places are rip-offs; I figured I'd lose about 10% of my money to their bad exchange rates.
I've been truing up the budget, and my consistent rate has been 1 Euro = $1.15 or so. (It varies by day, but that's the rough average.)
The *one* time I used a booth I traded in 120 Euros. That should have been around $138. With the "rip-off factor" figure $120-$125.
I got $100.
Those booths are worse than credit card interest rates! Yowch!
(And yes, there's a reason I still have around 120 Euros on my desk. Once I took that hit I decided I'd do the exchange at my bank like a sane person.)

Well, I have to get the Prius smog checked today, which irritates me no end, because I *know* that if they exempted Prii or other hybrid/electric vehicles, then someone would soup up a Prius into a smog-spewing muscle car, just 'cause 'Merikuns.

Woohoo! I have a bike! Which, contrary to assumptions, did not fit in the back of the Soul. And I had neither rope nor bungees in the car. So I stopped at a gas station to buy some.
Thank heavens for good ole southern sexism, the kind old man who owned the station came outside and insisted on tying up my hatchback for me. I got "God bless you, Ma'am"ed no less than three times.
You know what? I'll take it. Kindness makes the world go around.

Okay, please explain.
I am still trying to understand the differences between the Polish-American diaspora mindset/ethos and actual Polish.
