I drink alone! I drink sweet tea (and sometimes even coka-cola hashtag-gasp!) when no one else is around! I'm such a rebel!

I don't do the boozahol thing. So long as you guys are safe, however~!

My three year old niece thinks my impending (if that's the word I want) nephew should be called either Jesus or Santa.

So, uh, apparently I made a really popular one-word post.

Are you all trying to tell me to "shut up"?

Due to studies for this year's entry exam, I haven't had time to really write much. Here's hoping I can fix that this weekend. I read through two of the three books (all borrowed from the library) I need to get familiar with, and wrote down notes which I can check through even when I don't have the books themselves on hand. I need to read through one more (it hasn't arrived yet), and get some notes on the essentials of that one as well. Once all of that is done, I can just study via the notes and occasionally borrow the books again to make sure I got everything right. Here's hoping I get into University this time!

Afterthought:
That said, I am not too worried even if I don't get in. I am quite sure I can still become a successful writer with enough hard work and a bit of luck.

I was under the impression that favorites were a sign of support. =)

Come, come, there is plenty sushi to go around, and it is very tasty. You just have to get across that very large pond in front of the door. :P

The one with the Coy fish?

And,... is that a piranha?

WHERE did the alligator come from?!?

Nevermind. I'm not THAT hungry,....

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Silly, the piranha is a sweet water fish, and that's a saltwater puddle.

It's a shark.

First post from my new laptop. Yay!!

Although, I will say that if there is one thing I hate about buying a new computer, other than spending the money, it's removing all the annoying crap programs they bundle onto it. At least Google Drive makes it easy to transfer my files.

Morning FaWtL folk. Hope everyone is well and has a good day ahead of them. The weekend is almost upon us, I hope everyone gets some time to put their feet up and catch their breath.

I would just remove old HD, put it into the external HD box with usb cable and connect it to new laptop. Hopefully I won't need to do it for at least a few years. Of course it would be nice to have enough money to do it just to switch to more powerful (*cough—dedicated gfx—cough*) computer.

I thoroughly empathize! Slept 6.5 hours in the last 72 (a 2, a 3, and a 1.5)! Woo!

If I had an external drive box, I probably would have done that. But I don't and letting Google Drive handle the transfer was easy, if slow. 4.5 gigs over a (theoretical) 1.5 meg connection takes a while. In this case, almost 4 hours, but I was also streaming YouTube for some of that time which surely slowed it down a bunch.

It's gonna take some time to get used to the new OS. I haven't used anything newer than Windows XP, and now I gotta learn Windows 8.1.

Less sweet tea and soda and more water would help...

also, less late nights playing Final Fantasy Tactics would help. See how great it would be to play it on a portable system...?

It's the only thing that let's me stay awake long enough to feed the baby!

(It's less that I can't sleep via denial, and more like it just doesn't work out schedule-wise for various reasons.)

EDIT: Also, too much water makes me feel ill.

You mean on a tiny headache-inducing screen at an uncomfortable angle for the hours it would take to play on?

:D

Freehold DM wrote:

That would be me, but I don't think that's why I'm a fool. Plenty of other reasons why, though.

Also: now watching Hercules 2014, in 2015! It's like I'm time-traveling!

I do not love sushi. We are friends with benefits and have rather on and off relationship.

Prescribes weekend of long walks or other physical activity outdoors, no computer or TV usage, and one or more thick books.

My favorite part about being a parent for a 3.5 year old is interpreting the seemingly nonsensical statements that come out, like these next two that came out in the last 10 minutes, getting ready for a trip out and about

"I want to be the one with a Koala suit!" (Can we please look for a Gorilla Costume when we go to Target)

"I'm a Man with his Pants down" (you have 5 seconds to put on a new diaper/training pants/underwear before i Pee all over this floor)

kids are awesome:-)

Trying to pick up the collab novel Scint and I started a few years ago (the novel's GoogleDoc itself is dated August 2012, and various short stories, brainstorming docs, and other periphery as far back as that January). Majorly short on any writing getting done way too much, not just lately but period. Just looking back on all that... three years almost, seriously? Makes me kind of sad to see it's taken this long and it's still not done, despite all the major, major progress we made on it in the first few months of work.
