Oh yes, Morning Orthos!

Shouldn't one precede the other? At least that's what I've been told.

I spent a year and a half at Monterey. The stretch just south of that starting at Carmel and ending in Greater LA (including Big Sur) is a fantastic place. If you see a sign for Jade Cove Beach, it's worth a stop and a climb down the cliff. Natural Nephrite is washed out of the cliff there, and if you are lucky you might find a piece!

Yeah, I'm a shameless rock nerd.

If his destination is SF, he probably won't be seeing that part. I agree, though - it is amazing on that stretch.

jeah, we stay the last day in San Francisco, so just Highway 1 north of SF, but one my first US visit we did drive the coast from SF to LA and it was amazing

Hi evryone,

the first half of Highway 1 was kind of boring, deep fog concealing every view that could have been there, it did not help that the only radio statios we could get where a station of very slow, very old and depressing coutnry and a station with strange chello music.

then we stopped at a small village called Jenner and had a great hand-brewed coffee from a wood cabin right at the beach while pelicans flew by and a hippie guy played a xylophone.
kind of reconciled me with california.

the rest of the coast was a good ride, we came through James Jacobs hometown Point Arena (it is tiny)

the drive over the Golden Gate Bridge was a blast.

San Francisco is very cold, everyone is extremly unfriendly (including hotel employees) and he hotel room smells like feet
so California has to do a bit of work tomorrow to reconcile me again

My players just came up with an insane plan to take on the Stag Lord. I'm still kind of flabbergasted.

Spoiler:
"Hey boss! We come bearing booze and a whore!" *present barrels of beer and party oracle*

EDIT: They have just dubbed this "Operation Stag Party".

Hey, I just wanted to go boar hunting. You're the one who threw bandits in. Excuse me for adapting.

Boaring.

My players did something very, very similar. Tonight's Kingmaker game was all roleplaying, btw.

No, no it doesn't. I haven't owned a television in years.

Of course! Sometimes you'll see a local news story about a baseball team watching Big Bang Theory.

There's also infomercials.

So... almost got robbed at work tonight by a mob of 8-year-olds. Nothing stolen, but they did a small number on my truck with the rocks they were throwing... Now I have to meet with the police this week and pray to whatever gods there may be that corporate doesn't decide I'm a liability and fire me. Fun times. I live in Satan's version of Monty Python.

We did as well... but without the whore. Our sole female PC... the Paladin, would have loved that one. :D

Oh, despite it sort of being the accidental idea of the sole female player, the sole female PC is not going to be thrilled about it.

Spoiler:
The magus was upset we'd killed Kressle without giving him a chance to flirt. So... "Hey, he could still try it with the Stag Lord." "....WOULD THAT WORK?"

I had a dream in which I was talking to my dead grandmother last night. It was strange because in the dream I knew she was dead and we were talking about what had transpired since. I wish the conversation had been deeper - it was disappointingly mundane.

Very odd. I don't usually get dreams like that.

Those dreams can be strangely disconcerting.

WOW. Last night or this morning I dreamed that we were going through the old house (maternal grandmother) and in the dream my mom (deceased) appeared and talked to me. She said, "Don't worry, we're going to take everything with us."

This is getting creepy.

I wish I would dream about loved ones who were gone. Maybe then I wouldn't miss them so much.

Tears up, Hugs all round. :(

Silver Crusade

It was weird, because I opened a drawer in her house, and there was an eReader sitting there. She asked whose it was, and I said, "I think it's yours." She seemed regretful that she did not get a chance to use it.

I do not know whether anyone had actually given her such a thing (she died in 2006, and I don't think they were that common back then), although I think if she were still living, she would love one of those, given that rate at which she devoured murder mysteries and horror novels.

I don't think dreaming about them makes you miss them less.

I understand that dreaming about lost loved ones is part of the coping process. It all depends on how you dream about them. Some dreams keep them there as a refusal to accept the lost, others are you closing that book and moving on.

Not long after my friend took his life, I had a dream where he appeared while I was trying to figure out something. I looked at him and said 'You can't be here'. He kind of dissolved away and I woke up.

I had a weird dream like that a few years back. Only it involved a friend from work who died suddenly while on travel 9 years ago. In the dream, I was throwing a big party and he showed up, so we kind if sat there drinking a shooting the s#%% - just like old times.

Karen had a similar dream. It involved her (deceased) Grandfather and dog and (her still living) Grandmother. It disturbed her big time because she was then worried about her Grandmother.

It wasn't me.

I've just downloaded the old OSCIR rules for free last night. Anyone still play old school first edition D&D.

How many kids are we talking about? Because at least here once it's over a certain number you're allowed to respond in kind.

I dream about lost loved ones every now and again. I like it, it makes me feel like we are still in touch. I get the feeling wherever we go when we die is overstimulating in some way- whenever I dreamt of a lost loved one, it was very similar to your experience, like they needed to take a breather or something.

I played 1e more than one way...I don't think I ever played with a group that did RAW. Three cheers for PF and three cheers for the OSR, says I.
