Nekkid pizza eating!!!

Scarab Sages

Just watch out for the hot cheese.

Soap advertisement break!

Scarab Sages

Had a nice big fairwell lunch for the retiring co-worker. This was just our branch though. The official retirement party won't happen for another month or so.

Scarab Sages

That pizza place we went to is good, but I always leave feeling like a bloated sack of protoplasm.

Scarab Sages

MMmmmm.....protoplasm

Silver Crusade

All you people who get to take business trips to neat locations suck.

I get to go to...

Spoiler:
Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

That's not for a while, though.

Scarab Sages

Where'd everybody go?

My wife's in Hawaii at the moment. In a few months, I'm going to Japan.

Scarab Sages

Although, in truth, the Japan trip is probably going to suck big donkey balls.

Yeah, you can probably find a restaurant that will serve you that, there. If you try hard enough.

I don't know when the trip is, but just my luck it will be in the dead of winter.

I hear they taste great with chili and some mango.

Surprisingly, talk of food is not making me hungry again. Too much pizza at lunch.

Mmmm. It's apple cider season, isn't it? I have to find some.

Although I understand the NY apple crop had a rough season this year.

No, I knew of it before the second job - - its one of the first hentai I know of. The Wikipedia entry gives it a VERY bad introduction, but check it out.

Well, when people are looking for those sites that cater to eating-out fetishes, they weren't exactly expecting your specific niche.

I got to hand it to you, though.

On second thought, I'm keeping my hand.

Saw Kamelot/Nightwish last night. Had no idea what to expect, having never been to a concert.

Did not expect waiting outside for nearly an hour to get in having bought tickets in advance.

Nor the old guy in the Superman-Jesus shirt and cape to lap the block about eight times before they let us in. Or for him to be there. This led to the introduction of a new unit of time, used thusly in a sentence: "Dang, that sucked, it took us twelve Superman-Jesuses to get inside." The same guy who coined this also started messing with passersby.

Nor the lack of chairs. Ended up leaving early because neither Dad nor I could take standing much longer after both of us worked all day then got there. My legs are wimpy.

Nor all the jumping. I ended up standing next to a kid who jumped and flailed his arms constantly, only reminding me that I am eye-level to most people's elbows.

Very glad I was warned about earplugs. Had to put them in almost immediately. Still somehow got a headache.

I hope they put on a good show. I couldn't see it. I think most Nightwish fans apparently play basketball. The lights were good. >_>

I dunno. I'm glad I went, just to have a concert experience. I don't think I'll go again.

FWIW, my first concert was Megadeth w/ Warlock & Sanctuary in May 1988. I was 16. Those under the age of 21 were exiled to the balcony of this venue (which is still around today as I was there to see Nightwish last week). Couldn't see much of anything.

Hasn't discouraged me. I'm probably batting near a thousand shows in my life time.

Don't let your first discourage you.

It's kind of like sex. The first time isn't always what it's cracked up to be even though you remember it.

It improves over time with practice and experience. Kind of like learning from your mistakes has a way of humbling you and working toward raising your wisdom stat.

I always wear earplugs at those sorts of concerts. I don't care if it's lame. It's not worth the hearing loss.

What?

<turns up hearing aids>

yes, propablly not your thing, Scintillae,

because everything you described sounded totally right for me :-)
god, how many hours I have spend waiting in front of concert halls
and chairs are completly out of the question for me, well for rock music anyway, no problem sitting at classic or irish folk

Ah! If we lived in the same region, we'd get along great!

Where is my transporter room, anyway? Someone needs it built.

I live on the wrong continent, anyway. THE BEST METAL CONCERTS ARE IN EUROPE!

FINALLY

in other news this day went down the crapper.

Silver Crusade

What's so crappy, FHDM?

Silver Crusade

I just took a call from a woman with a really scratchy smoker voice. Truckstop waitress-style.

All the sudden I got a whiff of cigarette smoke and I said to myself, "Ugh, I can actually smell the cigarettes on her. I bet she smells like that all the time."

Then I realized that it is impossible to smell somebody through a phone, and it was actually a coworker walking by my cubicle.

A mind is a terrible thing.

At least it's Friday...

Celestial Healer wrote:

everything went wrong today. I was supposed to take care of some financial stuff for the wife and I ended up stuck in a van en route to far Rockaway at the time I was supposed to be in the bank. Her phone phone died not long after...I was literally three minutes away from going lunch when my boss grabbed me. Everything has gone wrong today.
