Yay for good friends. If all my bills had hit, I would have been in the hole and something would have bounce. I called a friend and asked if I could borrow $80 until Friday. We met over near his bank and he handed me $100 for services rendered and said I did not owe him any change.
What kind of services? ;P

Hey Shiny:
I really don't have much to add beyond what the others have, but being just four months out of a 5+ years relationship investment, just about anyone is going to potentially become a rebound if I jump back into it too soon. I'm a bit over the grieving period at this point, but not the reassessment portion of how I manage to reach that stage so I realize what I need to address the next go-around. I care a lot about people, but I'm not the most publicly (or privately) emotionally invested individual that more of the opposite gender would like for me to be. I also take long calculated plans versus the quick and impulsive ones even if it means I have to dig down deep and bear the storms else risk exposure to further fiscal or physical ruin.
Definitely do avoid the 'it's not you; it's me' cliche. Do indicate that you do like her, but it's the distance and your current status trying to figure things out to get yourself righted. Besides, how can you love and/or care for someone else when you need to do that for yourself, first?
I'm sure there's nothing more you'd like to do than to get that emotional intimate encounter. We all crave it to varying degrees; myself included. What I think you'd want to express to her is that you want to take that time so you don't cheapen the encounter where it is tantamount that it could failure if hastened. It is exactly why I've fended off two propositions pitched my way. I need to be a productive member of the working class before I take that next step. Until then, feel free to communicate with me all they want. But I warn them that if they hasten things, the chances may be greater it'll be short term because I can't make any commitments beyond the task currently set before me.
And yeah, this is a guy that likes to dwell scoping out DAT ASS. I'm a perv to the 34th exponent, but a rational one. ;-)

So... almost got robbed at work tonight by a mob of 8-year-olds. Nothing stolen, but they did a small number on my truck with the rocks they were throwing... Now I have to meet with the police this week and pray to whatever gods there may be that corporate doesn't decide I'm a liability and fire me. Fun times. I live in Satan's version of Monty Python.
Ouch!

My BiL got me one when we were Rise of the Rune Lordsing and I love it. Then I got one a month or so later and felt disappointed.
Since when has Freehold worked in a bank? :/

It was part of his master plan to bring down Whedon.

It was so very many years ago. I was younger, played 3.0 dungeons and dragons, and lived at my mother's house, where I had never even heard of Paizo or pathfinder or FaWtL... It was a dark time.

Ditto the angelic one. I laughed out loud.

Bastard set me on fire! I sicced my hound on him though, and we had a merry chase through the theatre that ended with him being surrounded at the top of the stairs at gunpoint and being knocked out by the monk from behind.
I hate my short legs sometimes.

May we borrow your friend Sharoth?
$80 would let me pay for my apartment this week - it would be one more week without risking administrators going with my debt to court.

Hang in there! Or as Google translate puts it, "Trzymaj się!"
Not sure if that can be right, though - it's got a proper number of vowels.

Yup, Google got that right.
Ugh, some venting on my part:
Last Wednesday I spoke with my mother again and she started to ask me meaningfully If I have a good news. I said that the only good news is that I managed to pay late fee for cooking gas. She told me that she wasn't asking about that. I told her that I don't know what she is talking about. So I heard that according to mother's friend I had job interview and have been on my first day in job...
What the hell?! I started explaining that no one contacted me after I provided my application and no one called me for an interview! I don't even know where mother's friend's daughter was taking my application beyond that it was some gas station so I could not contact them directly.
Both I and my mother got mad. Mother send an sms to her friends asking what it is all about. Soon she called me and asked me to bring my application next day morning because she will be nearby and that she will give it to someone directly in completely unrelated circumstances. No explanation given for misinformation in the mean time. My mother was told that the friend's daughter called me earlier but I was drunk on some party... Eh? I haven't been drunk since the middle of the last year, at least. Duh. And I don't think I haven't been on any party since my birthday in February.
Ok, end of rant.

Everything went wrong with that encounter. Everything.
Welcome to GMing =)

... WHAT?
It really sounds like this "friend" is just jerking your chain and trying to be on your mom's good side at the same time. I personally would be rather wary... and wonder if this advertised "job" even exists.
Good luck man, been there done that, unemployment bites.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Tuesday (I hope). It continues to promise to be a very busy and somewhat craptastic week. The weekend, however, is starting to look like it has potential. One of my (kind of former) gaming buddies is having an annual block party at his house on Saturday. Hopefully the wife will be able to attend with me and the boy.
